How do you prevent the lofting feature from removing your guide curves? Mine get removed as soon as I finish the lofting

I have the feeling for your project you might get smoother results using some helix as guide and only 2 shaping circles.

That can be done with a sweep with guides and a centerline to. Is there a reason to use loft for something that have the same profile?

Interesting exercise. It does leave you with .100" flats at the loft profiles. Also does anyone know a way to fabricate this part?

you can shrink those down to .000001 if you like

You can readily 3D print it by all common methods (SLA, FE, SLS) or get it investment cast.
