Hey man, great playing and amazing guitar as always. However, I was just a little confused when you said these were "digital" pickups. I am pretty sure they work like regular active pickups with an analog built-in preamp with the addition of fishman's unique design of the pickups that allow for the different voicings. Do you have any source on the pickups using digital technology?
No mate its what you said, its all magic to me. Just that the coils are printed like circuit boards and stacked so tye print is perfect and concistant rather than wound. A very "digital" approach to the pick up. 🤟🧟♂️🤟

I sweat alien blood dude and its taken me nearly 20 years to rot through my Jem 7vwh however if you play all day and then leave it drenched in sweat then it will fade eventually but, I'd say you be fine if you look after it man.

What's the difference between Prestige fret end treatment..Premium fret end treatment...JC custom fret edge treatment.?? They all have the rounded hot dog ends.... Is it just marketing BS.?
dunno what they changed in last years, but I got a prestige from 2019 that had terrible fret edge treatment, had to give it to some local guy to do it right
It's not marketing bs. I'm paraphrasing a bit because I'm unfamiliar with the terminology; but the prestige necks are treated with a more complex and expensive process. They use liquid nitrogen to dehydrate it, which makes it more solid and gives it a much better playability. I know there's more to the process than I said but I do know for sure that it is legit, not just marketing. The proof is in the pudding, the prestige necks playability is much much better.
That middle pickup makes the difference. I just played one yesterday and going to buy it next week. Apart of the Fishmans which are mindblowing on their own that middle pickup is what sold me. I tried a few other guitars with those Fishmans and for chugging great , other than that clean sounds were rubbish. But on that 5170, with this middle single pickup - it makes all the difference. Suddenly you have vast possibilities. Yes, it can also play jazz and clean, bright fantastic sparkling sounds. Mind you I was a strat guy all my life and have great ones, playing jazz, blues and fusion and occasionally weird stuff.. But I recently joined a metal band , which is my 3rd at the moment and was lookin for sth solid where I do not have to redo all my pedalboard and amp and this one blew my mind. Basically with my strats and this one I can cover pretty much every style. And for metal, dude, nothing is better. It sounds great on all amps. Even ones that should not do metal, suddenly you are sounding like a monster. Cant wait until I get mine. Highly recommended.

I really would like this guitar but I’m sceptical of fading gold hardware. Is it true that it fades/tarnishes easily or is that a myth?

I've got loads of gold hardware and my sweat is mega corrosive, you do need to wipe it down after sweaty sessions but you'll be fine for years.

Ibanez should remove middle pickup.. then it will look more beautiful
