      There's an absolutely insane looking new football (soccer) game coming out for Switch and Ps4 and Windows that's based on Captain Tsubasa. I've never heard of the anime but I'm definitely buying this game when it comes out because it looks so damn cool, I think it's the same deal as the NES one, a football RPG, but it has these crazy looking super moves, it's like Shaolin Soccer on steroids. It just seems like such a crazy and unique concept, take a real sport but make it _ANIME_ if you know what I mean, it's like Blitzball from Final Fantasy X but a real sport. Because the only other football action game we have for Switch is FIFA, and I hate FIFA, the PES series has always been and still is far superior. The best football game series in general is Football Manager but that's an entirely different sort of thing as you just watch matches play out, you don't control the players. And this Captain Tsubasa thing is another thing entirely to both those other styles of game. It's like football mixed with Dragonball Z Fighters. And it's being made by Bandai Namco and they always seem to make quality games, so yeah

      I wish I liked it more than I did. I rented it a ton and also played it on an emulator. In my opinion, what keeps it from being truly an S, is the knock back and the constant respawning. The fact that you have to deal with both of these difficulty tropes in the same game keeps this at an A. It does cheapen the experience. Still a fantastic NES game, but not an 'S', so very close though...

      @@kekeke8988 I get the reason why it's in there. My gaming is rooted in retro difficulty, trial and error, difficulty tactics to extend gameplay. I am simply saying the respawning is at a ridiculous level even for the time and this is combined with the knock back. I do agree that the game would be too easy since the devs decided to have your regular enemies go down in one slice. Regardless, this is why it just doesn't reach that S ranking.

    quick explanation of Mighty Bomb Jack's bomb rooms: In the final room of every stage you're trying to collect all the bombs and then leave via the gate. This is called a SAVE. Every one of these rooms also has a single lit bomb- if you collect the lit bomb last, you can warp directly to the next stage's bomb room. the catch is that if you die, you'll always be sent back to the last place you saved- which does not happen after a warp.
    Also, the game has multiple endings which depend on you achieving certain things in certain levels, which means you can't just warp to the end if you want the best ending.

      Tecmo World Wrestling drove me nuts with its blatant NBA Jam caliber cheating. So many times I'd have an opponent beat only to have them hit about 25 moves in a row, which I couldn't stop even with turbo. It was super fun with a friend though.

      Hey, check out this new football (soccer) game coming out next week, it's based on the same anime as this NES one was, Captain Tsubasa. I've never heard of the anime but I'm buying this game day one because it looks absolutely insane, and breathtaking. It's like Shaolin Soccer on steroids, it's like Blitzball but with a real sport. Dude seriously just watch the trailer. It is kinda mindblowing. It's such a cool unique idea, turn a real sport into an insane Dragonball z Fighters looking game with all these crazy super moves and so on. I dunno if it's gonna be a turn based RPG or more like a modern JRPG with real time battles, it's hard to tell from the trailer, but yeah just go watch it

    I remember Tecmo Cup Soccer Game. Very good in my opinion with the story about this game. It was originally called Captain Tsubasa in Japan cause of a popular Japanese soccer anime. It was brought into the US and they heavily Americanized the game, changing the character name and appearance.

    • @duffman18
      @duffman18 Před 4 lety

    I got Ninja Gaiden II as a kid. Got pretty good at it over the years but offcourse: Didn't finish it as a kid. Later on in my 20's I tried it again. Came SO close but finally did rage quit after quite some time. Next try was years later and you know what? I did it and found out something many might not know. The last boss comes in different shapes. I don't remember how many but if you come to say shape 2 or 3, you die and get a game over and then start at the beginning of the last stage. You'll still run into the shape you last met being back at the last boss despite having a Game Over.
    Never played Ninja Gaiden I or III so I don't know it if's the same there but what a feeling finally beating Ninja Gaiden II.

    Also, I hear you on Mighty Bombjack (it is a strange game in some ways) but it really is an enjoyable game the more you play it. It's one of those games where you just have to experiment a bit to understand the little nuances of the game. It's a good one though (possibly a B for me). And Fire 'n Ice is a very fun puzzle game but you are totally right, John! Members of Mensa HAD to be responsible for some of the later stages in that game (just like with the Lolo games which are equally difficult). It's pretty amazing how tough the puzzles could be. Anyway, I have rambled long enough. Great video man! Every one of them is truly a treat so please keep it up!
