As an Aircrew Life Supporter (ALSE) and aerospace historian specialising in aircrew protective gear, I am well versed in the development of US Air Force advanced aircrew gear (including, of course, protective helmets and oxygen delivery systems (masks)). From what we see in this video, it seems China is up to its old tricks as usual, since almost all of the concepts and design developments revealed in this video inarguably affirm that China has again 'stolen' (or 'borrowed', if you prefer a less pejorative term...however unnecessary that might be, given China's ruthless 'copycat' traits) all of them. None of these represent original Chinese PLAAF ALSE breakthroughs as this video would have viewers believe. Rather they are in most cases very nearly outright copies (with some embellishment) of well-known advanced Western aircrew life support and physiological research and technology developments (ironically and proudly proclaiming them to be 'indigenous' and 'singularly specific' to China's PLAAF technological breakthroughs). China has a long track record of utterly lacking the merest vestige or approximation of what we Western nations call 'ethics,' morality and standards of legally mandated international proprietary property law. Having closely followed Chinese PLAAF aircrew developments for decades, I am most fortunate to have collected many of the previously existing examples of Chinese ALSE gear (including some fascinating experimental Chinese 'hybrid' mask prototypes that combine standard Chinese versions of the Russian KM-35/36 series masks (SU-30/35, etc.) and US Air Force MBU-20/P (et al variants) masks). The figurative 'bread-crumb-trail' traits they manifest are unmistakably American and were somewhat puzzling until I discerned what they represented in intended configurational identities. From its earliest times (back in the Korean War era), China either used Soviet ALSE gear (helmets, masks, etc.) in their Soviet-obtained aircraft or quickly produced carbon-copies of them, since they were for use in Soviet designed & produced aircraft. This practice continued for several decades, until China began to produce their own early and rather crude 'hard-shell' protective flight helmets and also began manufacturing Chinese one-off variants of Soviet aircraft (the PLAAF J-series), and even a few distinctly 'more-Chinese-than-Russian' developments. Then, as Western aircraft (read: US aircraft) began developing stealth and other advanced aeronautical engineering concepts (avionics and weapons/aircraft integrated offensive air-combat munitions), the Chinese recognised that since America is both the leader in these special areas of ALSE (and China's #1 future adversary in the declared battle for World Hegemony, per Xi Jinping's strategic 'long-game' plan), it was time to acquire (by covert means or outright theft, if you will) US defense ALSE developments. From that point onward, China has forsworn its Russo-Soviet emulating behavior and now focuses exclusively on purloining that of US (both aircraft systems and ALSE) equipment and personnel gear. This is where we are at present, with the J-20 'Panda Helmet' attempting to 'out-F-35' the US F-35/F-22 ALSE counterparts. And what better model to adopt for its own purposes than the latest US gear? Although Sun Tzu never covered this modern aspect of how to win wars with a formidable enemy, in his classic 5th Century BCE 'Art of War,' I am sure he would have, had he known of such things. Whoa dragon scales is a nice touch, should have included typical Chinese dragon head on the helmet as well as dragon claws on the gloves..... oh btw i loved the Chinese olympic colours and designs on the related tracksuits and facemasks...... The red orange yellow fade to white was awesome!! Well done to the Chinese designers / graphic designers....... there is so many cool designs you can do with the Chinese dragon motif........ dragons face from the front or 2 dragons on the side profile of the helmets.... But would love to see a proper dragon motif on the side or nose of the J20!!!!! not a bright motif, just a motif that fades into the grey and is only visible at a certain angle Come on we need to see the 2seat J20 and the H20....... the West are beginning to get brazen and antagonise Russia for no reason......
