Donna Mills was not happy when the writers initially had Abby arrange for Val's babies to be stolen, so Abby was only indirectly responsible. Abby made a comment to evil Scott Easton about her concern about Gary being the father of the soon to be born twins. Scott Easton, who was working for Abby at the time, on his own, plotted with and apparently paid the evil Dr. Ackerman to do it. Scott Easton was killed before Abby could find out where the twins were so it took the rest of the season to unravel the mystery. Great, great storyline.

KL writers often gave the actors a lot of freedom with their characters. Originally they planned Valenes stolen twins to be arranged by Abby . But Donna Mills protested saying she felt viewers would never forgive her character for stealing another womas babies. So they improvised to have Abby unwittingly say she wishes the babies were taken away from Val and use her own form of detective work and bringing Val back to the babies. Classic story

It's like she can totally separate herself and take on the personality of another and tell a convincing story and make you feel for her. Superb. At times, she doesn't even have to say anything. She says a lot with her facial expressions. Wonderful actress!!! A++++

I think this show came on before the new country music became so popular. Val was playing a country station that was in old time mode. I can’t remember 💯 per cent, but I think Abby was into classical music. They should’ve cranked up some FM hard rock or 80s new wave. I remember this story. I know Val got the twins back. The one dr blew his brains out when Mac and Karen cornered him in a parking lot. I don’t think Abby really knew the story of the twins being stolen until later. She was trying to help Val by this time.

@adelgado75 No, she was never on Dallas. The only thing Abby had to do with the baby's disappearance was that she casually mentioned how upset she was over the fact that the babies were Gary's to a coworker (I believe his name was Scott Easton). Easton was the one who went to Dr. Ackerman and arranged for the babies to be stolen, but he died mysteriously. Abby received a call from Ackerman's people after the babies were already stolen, but she could do nothing.

David Jacobs created Dallas and KL on the basis of the charactors and how the premise of both shows weren't fixated on the materialism that DYNASTY did. That is why these TWO shows last for as long as they did. JR EWING has to be the greatest of all time. He was evil but had a redeeming quality same as Abby. That is why we love these shows. Donna Mills is a wonderful actress, but Laura was the best and she was my favorite. To me Laura was the most beautiful actress on Knots Landing. When Laura was replace with Paige, Anne, and Claudia the show went down hill and most of the chemistry was gone. If Laura was allowed to stay in Knots Landing, I would be the first to say the show can have continue after the spring of 1993. But since, the producers killed off Laura, I am glad the show ended in 1993. I also felt concerned for Michelle Lee when Knots Landing entered the 1990's she started to gain weight, but still beautiful. From the early seasons Karen's clothing fit her perfectly, but as the seasons progressed some her clothes became baggy on her. Same problem with my beloved Bea Arthur, when she gain a lot of weight in season seven of The Golden Girls, her clothes beame baggy also. I am so happy when both shows ended Bea Arthur and Michelle Lee lost the weight the gain and started to healthy again. I need to lose weight my self, but I know how hard it is when love food.
