- Run Disney Marathon Weekend was a great success. I loved running the Dopey Challenge and now it's time for a recap and looking back at our amazing time at Walt Disney World.
It was not just the Run Disney races we came for, also the parks, our friends and some extra vacation time. We had a meet up, spent time at the Expo, went to Miami, I did 3 other runs and had an amazing two weeks in Florida.

I hear you on being in awe of all the amazing people I have in my life now through running...and about wishing I could do more Disney races. Don't even get me started on those amazing animals!
Playing with the baby jaguar and little chimp was soo amazing, really a big highlight of our trip.
@@RunArnoRun would be for me too...WOW!
Lovely look back at all the races Arno. I loved the Expo, loved all the races, loved all the bling, loved the routes, loved meeting you briefly, loved spending time with Jack & Emily, loved running dressed up, loved the volunteers, loved the fireworks... loved it all. Not the hot weather/ humidity for the marathon.
I wish we should have come along to the meet up, hopefully next time.
Your vlogs are awesome, I need to start making my own.
Take care Arno, “Get our there and run”
Burgie Boy same here, loved everything at Dopey, had so much fun.
Did you see you’re little cameo in the video? You were in the Expo shot really quick. 👍🏻
RunArnoRun Ha Ha Ha...
I had to watch it a few times, but finally spotted my cameo. Thanks for that Arno. Top Man.
What’s your next race?
Burgie Boy on March 8th I have a half marathon where I’m hoping to attempt to run under 1 hour 30 min. Then some shorter runs probably, but need to sign up still until the Star Wars races in April and the Nashville Rock ‘n Roll Marathon. I think that will be a great one. Still trying to figure out my bigger races after that. I’ve got my fingers crossed for the 26th when they announce the ballot for the NY marathon, so I’ll have to see what’s next. 😀
Great vid - it was good to quickly meet you at the meet up!
Thanks. Yeah, good to meet you too. Will you be at Star Wars in April?
@@RunArnoRun Unfortunately, I won't be making it to Star Wars - that one is definitely on the bucket list though! You are doing it this year? I seem to recall that you are.
@@BGRFamily That's a shame. Yeah, I'm going this year. I ran it in 2017 as my first US Disney run, really loved it, I'm a big Star Wars fan, so looking forward to doing it again.
@@RunArnoRun Awesome! I will look forward to the videos then so I can live vicariously through them
BigGoofyRunner & Family don’t worry, I’ll film it all. 😀👍🏻
I'm glad you had a great trip! I was in Disney for my first Dopey Challenge. I saw your group interviewed on the race monitors but didn't realize it was you. Riley interviewed me during the 10K - he was very nice. Loved your other recap videos. Dressing up in costume is the best part of Disney races. My husband and I dressed up as Tron for his first Disney 5K and he had a blast.
Alyxandra Sherwood I actually heard that from a couple of people, guess with the costumes it was a bit hard to tell. 😀 Tron outfits sound really cool. Was that with lights on the costume? My friend tried that once, but the lights didn’t work when he got to the race.
@@RunArnoRun The Tron outfits were a challenge to built but yes, they lit up. We bought an EL Tape kit and wore two battery packs each. facebook.com/NoGutsNoGloryRunning/photos/a.117089759744583/147232090063683
Great recap. Sorry I didn’t get to say hi at the meetup. Look forward to checking out the animal channel. I’ve been trying to visit as many of the AZA zoos and aquariums in the US since my kids were toddlers.
Laura RunsHappy thanks. Yeah, there were a lot of people there so it was hard to talk to everybody. I took a bit of a break from the animal channel, but am really going to working on it again now, so there is a lot of good stuff coming up. Also visiting Nashville and LA soon so hope to visit some zoos on my trip then too. 😀👍🏻
Awesome Video !!!!!! It was great to see you again there at WDW RunWeekend. Keep up the great work and see you later in DLP RunWeekend.
What These Eyes Have Seen thanks. Hope to see you in Paris. 👍🏻
I would love to do loads of runDisney events too, but coming from Australia it is so expensive. We are doing Dopey 2021 and the Castaway Cay Challenge afterwards, so we are super excited about that!
I can imagine that from Australia it's not a yearly trip to do Disney races. I loved running the Castaway Cay Challenge in 2018. I'm sure that I'll do that one again some day, the run was fantastic, but the cruise was just amazing, everything was thought off, it was just perfect, the only bad thing I can say about the cruise was that it was too short, loved every minute of it and I'm sure you'll have a great time. Are you doing any races closer to home that are races worth traveling for for people outside of Australia?
RunArnoRun Blackmores Sydney Running Festival would be great, you get to run over the Harbour Bridge and finish at the Opera House. I haven’t ran that one yet but would love to. My personal favorite is the Gold Coast Marathon because it’s my favorite vacation spot here and I love running next to the beach, it’s so pretty and flat!! We are doing the Gold Coast Half this year (July) for POT for Dopey. I’m worried 4 nights will be too quick as well, we’ve only did 7 night Disney cruises and they were too short!
Kristen Willoughby those sound really great. Who knows, one day I might make it over there for some runs. 😀👍🏻
It was great to meet you both! Look forward to the rest of your trip videos, which will give us ideas for where to run during our non-RunDisney trips. We will see you at Star Wars. Only one more week for us until Princess challenge weekend :)
Travelin' Quaker it was great to finally meet you both too. Looking forward to Star Wars a lot, hope to see you there. Have fun at Princess weekend. Maybe one day I’ll do that one too.
So great to see you at the meetup! Gerald, Jen, Heather, and I were all talking about how cool the CZcams/social media/ RunDisney family is! Glad you’re a part of it!
Yeah, I wasn't able to be there two years ago, so I was glad I could be there this time. It was a lot of fun.
RunArnoRun this was my first one ever. It was overwhelming but in a good way!
@@RunningInMakeup We've had meet ups in Paris, but there were a lot more people here this time. Seeing that everybody has to take time out of their day, cut there park day short, I was really amazed with the amount of people who showed up. In Paris everything is close together, so you can easily walk from the park to the Expo and still get back to the park after the meet up. But in Orlando people have to travel quite a bit between parks and resorts. So it was awesome that the group was so big.
Great video! Hope to meet you at a future race! :-)
Thanks. Yeah, that would be fun. Are you going to the Paris races in September?
@@RunArnoRun Nothing booked yet but I feel more and more convinced that I should. So at least I have now put it in my Calendar as a first step :-)
@@hkldk :-) haha, yeah, that's how it starts. See you in Paris. 😂
RunArnoRun 👍🏻😂
Oh wow, you really didn't take a break from running right after Dopey, did you;-) Impressive! I enjoyed this recap. When did the race merch start to show up at the outlet?
Laura Duckson they were very short runs though, but figured I would get as many in as I could while I was in Florida. 😀
About a week after Dopey they got some things in, but most days they told us they had a couple things in the morning, but sold out right away, until the fourth time we got there early and they had a couple of shirts. 2 years ago we hot lucky, they were just putting it out, we got shirts, jacket, blanket, handbag and tons of pins for a fraction of the cost.
