I enjoy watching talented people. But I never thought I’d be into watching a guy make wooden lures. You’re a very talented and skillful craftsman and your videos are fun and entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
All your stuff is great Nate; but this is one of your better videos in a while. I'm a fly guy, but gearing up to make some wooden baits. You help a lot... thank you!!!
The ultimate is to catch them on a fly
@@outdooraddictiontv5325 Being the best fly fisherman is like winning a gold medal at the special Olympics
@@gummz84 how many gold medals do you have then?
The way you carve the gills with exacting precision is a glorious sight to behold.
There are very very channels that have 20-30 minute videos that I watch from start to finish with out fast forwarding, but I have watched every one of yours for years with no remorse! Your content is phenomenal!
So happy to see Chip in a video again
Brother Nate, this is one of the most realistic baits you've done yet. Very detailed, very well designed, and the action is exactly what you were looking for. Amazing, as always. Can't wait to see you snag it in the river...
Your videos are great, my grandfather started carving wooden lures because of you and he's made everything from whopper ploppers to lipped cranks. Keep up the good work!
finally something worth watching. well till I heard there was no glue stick lol.
I know I watched him say that lol 😕. Great Vedic tho
Dude, yes! I was literally like, “has Nate just reached God-tier baitmaker status? Or is he just a psychopath” when I saw you fill those lead holes without tank testing that thing 😂
I’d love to see you start making fresh water aquarium fish species for your baits. Something like different tetra species or platies. The actions from some different tetras might be great. Man some aquarium catfish baits would be cool too.
That's a healthy chunk of the Mosquito Fish right there!
Very clean painting and nice details.
On to the previous bait! I skipped a few, gotta catch up.
I really enjoyed this one! Also, how cool would it be if you had a long aquarium with a good power head pump on one end and you could use it to test and show the action of the swim baits (or any other bait)
I have seen all your videos I believe and no matter how what kind of bait it turns out to be I am very glad you started talking in your videos. Your funny commentary, calling for your drill, the moments of inspiration when you still have a fresh idea. All funny. But the endings that you started doing a while back have been the cherry on top. Love all your work. Keep em coming for as long as you can without losing your love for creation.
Glidaciousness is now part of my vocabulary. Always look forward to a new video. You and your wife are incredibly talented. Thank you for sharing.
I want to catch a mosquitofish on a fly. I've caught them on bait before. Had to use a size 28 hook. The glidebait looks awesome, as well as those teasers, the bluegill and large eyed one especially. I might have to tie a streamer like that.
Bored at 1:20am school night (morning)... perfect video
Totally psyched to see those other projects come to life. This mosquito fish turned out beautiful.
The fun facts is what I enjoy just as much as watching you make the lures.
Really liked that you put the fun facts over the carving 👍
I love the video and the lure I would fish it here in Australia. and I love how you are editing your videos more it brings it all together
He was doing just that. But hasn't finished the tank
I watch your videos while I tie my flies and I’ve gotten to the point where I’m rewatching all your videos, it’s always great when I get something new😂
That's not a lure that's a master piece!!!!!
I'm amazed at the talent you display on all these lures.
Good to see Chip again. I miss him not being in every show.
That’s also a very popular aquarium fish called guppy. And the one you made is the female, and the black stuff at the end of the belly is how you can see she is pregnant. Sometimes they get so fat so you can see the eyes of the babies in that black spot. Had many as a kid, fun fish to have!
These little montages of outtakes and clips of the video are dead set hilarious. I’m sure it’s a lot of effort in editing but please keep doing them!
Chip is a always a must have guest appearance too! I hope the rest of your fam are well also!
The belly looked downright galactic when you did the scale reveal. You should make a bob ross edition crankbait with little mountains and forests painted all over it
Your points on biology sum it up perfectly
I really find it nice with fun facts I think you should do more of that
It is both a blessing and sucks when it's so cold. Love your work. I can't carve anymore due to tremors but I've taken to tying jigs and large flies. Since the cold part of winter started I've made about 150 different styles, sizes and weights of both. Can't wait to see how yours do when the thaw comes and I'm set for Christmas presents for next year.
In a few weeks there will be only Mosquito Fish swimbaits on the shelves across the country. Thanks for 'introducing' them Nate. :P
Nice work and great art. Inspired me to bust out the knifes and wood and get building.
Ipan's work is perfect, it looks very much like a real fish
I love those new baits you’re working on!
Can honestly say this is the only time I’ve been happy to see Mosquito Fish. One of many terrible pests in Australia.
Superb craftsmanship and attention to detail
Learn something new every time I watch your videos
I’m not sure which is better, the bait making of the laughs!😂
I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET THAT BIG EYED LURE. I’m an avid south Florida fisherman and that looks exactly like a bait fish called Goggle Eyes that we use down here. All sorts of Jack’s and pelagic species would go crazy for that
I live in Indiana and never heard of this fish. I like to fish in creeks and I am surprised by how many species there are. You did a great job as always, love the fun facts. Learn something every time!
As someone from Indiana, I feel secure in the knowledge that you make guys from Iowa seem like fellas from Wisconsin.
You are the man. Just put weight in and don't test it. And it glides perfectly. I bow before you Baitmaster.
I’m glad you used braid. You don’t want to lose your hard work to a big bathtub bass 👍😂
These fish are the "minnows" of my childhood, we used to catch billions of them. They are everywhere and in every puddle of water in the Houston area.
6:52 That little tool there is exactly the type of thing I was looking for to cut slots on my pens. I ultimately gave up on that endeavor after so many different attempts at it, but that may work for me...
What a brilliant episode! Now we just need a floppy pink human swim bait in 2022! Let's make it O-FISH-AL!
I've been watching this channel for like 2 or 3 years and all the vids are great
That build was perfect.
And the video was really catchy and funny.
I'm now hooked to this channel and even started lure carving myself, its suprisingly relaxing. :)
Can't wait to see the other lures finished
Best way to start a Sunday morning! Hope you are doing well my guy.
thanks for making this lure, i know i asked long ago for you to make it, absolutely b e a utiful
I loved the garage snap! more than anything lol
World class master baiter right here, boys.
U xacerbaited things there bude
I enjoyed learning about the fun facts of mosquito fish from you lol
Great video bub!! You put those lead holes wherever you deem appropriate!! we trust ya😊
In my local lake, they’re everywhere. However, they are key to the fish in it, it’s a very dirty pond so they’re the only bait fish and they feed bluegill and crappie and small bass
Mandatory like before the video even starts. Watching this while painting baits. Guess baits can wait
have used many buckets of mosquitofish as bait for bullhead catfish, sunfish, and even used em in the ocean, they survive very well taken from a creek about 4-5 miles from the beach.
That's awesome. I can't wait to see you get it snagged in the river.
Next evolution needs to be an aquarium! Maybe a pump to simulate current! I’m sure you can carve one
I’ve been waiting for a swim bait like this
Perfect sunday afternoon content 💯
We have these fish all over our ponds in Mississippi, but there is so many misquotes and they actually help and don’t eat to many.
It looks so realistic , very cool as always ,
There's a department here in Oregon that will bring mosquito fish to your ponds/troughs for free. We got a couple for each of our water troughs from them. (Vector is the department, I think). They'll only give them if your water source doesn't connect to any other water source (like a creek or river).
Leo would be SOOOOO happy to see a mosquito fish that big lol
Another great build and video, Marlin. Your fishing lure build skills are Awesome. I enjoy watching your build videos, thank you.
It's always a good day when Nate uploads. Even better when chips in the thumbnail.
I would love to test this lure out on on stripe bass in Arizona! Wish I had this skill.
I love that he launched it at the wall of his tub immediately after talking about the action
When you kept zooming in on the mosquito fish's nose as you were screwing in the line tie I really thought the wood was gonna crack and ruin the bait. But it did not. Pleasantly surprised.
Perfect way to start the week, thanks, man.
I like this guy, and I like the show. He's very talented, and funny. I just wish he would make a lure that actually catches fish. Everything he makes is impressive looking, but seldom actually works well enough.
I know u did a menhaden bait, but a juvenile version would be great. We call them peanut bunker. And they’re very sought after baitfish in NJ along the coast.
Hi Nate, I'm not a bait maker but I am a plastic model painter and it's always interesting to see the crossover between my hobby and what you do.
Question: have you ever tried acrylic washes on your baits to add some definition to the carved in details?
Great build as always 👍
"College level bait making" and then he explains paint choice and technique with "ok now there's some blue stuff goin on"
I love it lmao Great vid MB!
Bluegill at the end of the video looks sick!!
New Marling video to wake up to, awesome
I woke up early to this. I could not have wished for something better. Thanks man.
18:24 Kinda looks like you are ready to play Some awesome flute 😂
Your swimbaits are so creative
I like this lure alot. you are very talented
Wow..a masterpieces of art..👍congratulations bro..look like a real fish.!!
Always enjoy whatever you do!
such a beautiful lure!!
1:51 had me dying!!!! You are the best!
Fun fact, they were introduced to Bermuda where they are now outcompeting the native killifish which are unique to the island and only found in a few small ponds. Don't introduce mosquito fish! There are no rivers or freshwater fish bigger than 2 inches long here but I still like the videos.
Love your profile! I have some extra polycarb i can send to you for baits (work at a plastic warehouse) what size woukd be best to send? I can do 12"x12" or smaller if needed. Varying thicknesses available
Great video, great lure, great to see Chip again, great music in the background with some Metallica, all in all 10/10
Love the fun facts.....it's always fun to learn shit I'll never need 😆. Reminds me of High School.
I’m excited about the bluegill style one. Great video
hot tubs are usually around 100-102 so you're spot on!
Loved the fun facts and the use of the word Glideashous
Awesome video! A tropical fish series would be super cool!
Sunday bait content! Fantastic news.
Great video. Love all the extreme close ups
if your garage doors arent insulated put some foam board insulation on them to keep heat in.. nice little/big fish !
His color matching to the actual fish is absolutely insane.
Gorgeous lure! You should try making a round goby swimbait or soft bait! Here in the great lakes gobies are candy to smallmouth bass, it would be cool to see your attempt at one!
Amazing Bait as always. And love me some Chip!
This was a really cool one. Maybe y'all could make an epic soft plastic mosquito fish?
