    Electrical Burn basing the burn damage on the electrocute damage is kind of a small detail but it's actually a really meaningful effect because burn dot's are weaker but last longer, while shock dot's are much bigger but end faster, so you end up getting to really crank fire dot's while getting their longer duration, and then Enchantress & Wires both make them all that much better.

    • @GeneralSouthParkFan

      Try abusing shock grenades with Gaige & you'll really see those damage ticks rise up. Electrical Burn + Chain Lightning (which is approved by the man, the myth, the legend himself behind Deputy Sal, Chuck80) is a busted ass combo that makes Shock Gaige fun as hell.

    Nth degree isn't diminishing returns. It's exponential returns, it's just that the first point provides the most benefit. If you could boost it past 5 it would be god tier.

    • @mouseutopiadystopia24601
      @mouseutopiadystopia24601 Před rokem +5

      Yes, it is exponential, yes, the first point gives the most benefit, and yes, it would do tremendous damage below 5th. However, the return on your first skill point (11.1%) is greater than the return on the next four combined (8.9%). That's why people say "diminishing returns."
      1000 shots (baseline) = 1000 hits
      1000 shots (+9th) = 1111 hits
      1000 shots (+8th) = 1125 hits

    I think a great capstone for anarchy would be to reduce the rate of decay, remove it from ffyl, and/or keep them from one life to the next.

  • @riddarhyttan
    @riddarhyttan Před 7 lety +40

    Agree with a lot of things. Death from Above really is the skill that wasn't, it could have been awesome. You can use it with an Airborne Anarchist COM and forego Discord, that way you'll get 11/5 of ranked damage and cycle 25 and 0 stacks, building them again with Rational Anarchist while slagging the next victims. Niche build, but it works fine on OP8. That doesn't change the fact that it's a wasted opportunity.
    I like the capstones better than you do, especially since With Claws can make Gaige a melee powerhouse (I'm sure you've seen her kill Hype with melee only for instance). The anarchy cost is negligible since you'll be slagging and Grog-tanking a lot like any other melee character.
    Swapping shields - I dunno, I don't notice doing it anymore, it's such a habit. I can see why it bothers people, but they probably didn't design it with the FotFH or Hide in mind. That's a bit of min/maxing which turned out too fun not to do.
    MiS can do some real work, and although I'll grant you that the occasional hit with the wrong element can be wasted DT is very likely to catch the correct one soon enough.
    Not the best capstones in the game by any stretch of the imagination, but it does tie into the problems of her design overall. It seems like so many ideas had to be tied into some sort of cohesive whole that they just lost their way. Skill placement and design could certainly be improved in several ways.
    Other things had to be scaled for balance across all game modes - Shock Storm is an example. If the range and damage were better, SS+DT with Upshot Robot would simply leave Gaige in the dust. (Literally, given how fast he is.)
    As for the 'disjointed' action skill - yeah, apart from the stellar Upshot Robot there's a lot to that, although it's worth keeping in mind that Evil Enchantress and Unstoppable Force will proc on a DT kill.
    Safe to say they've learned more with Jack and Wilhelm. On the other hand, Wolf, Saint and Jack's clones feel seriously dull in comparison. Since they wanted DT to have a great deal of autonomy, sacrifices had to be made.
    Maybe a robot with a mind of his own (derps included) might be the perfect companion for an anarchist.
    One could argue that it makes Gaige a more 'true' pet character than any of the others. (Axton might disagree, but then his relationship to his turret would give a psychologist nightmares.)
    You probably didn't want a wall of text in your current state, but that's the price you pay ;)

  • @OccasionalGoof
    @OccasionalGoof Před 7 lety +39

    There are a couple of things, mostly about Deathtrap, that I think are worth adding.
    Firstly, and you actually experience this in the video but aren't sure why: you can control Deathtrap, to a point. When you summon him, if an enemy is in your crosshairs, this communicates to him to go attack that enemy. When you're talking about grenades, this is why he attacked the target dummy that time, but not earlier. This can be used on very distant enemies to tell him to cross a lot of ground to hassle enemies who aren't even aware of you. When I first got into UVHM and was struggling, this really helped me a lot because it meant Deathtrap played distraction at a much greater distance giving me more time to just...not die.
    Second, just a bit of additional info about Buck Up since I have used it a lot as I almost exclusively play solo: it doesn't actually do what it says. Since it claims to restore "100% of a shield" but it's actually just a ton of shield restoration that seems independent of the shield it's being applied to, meaning it can be much much more than the shield's capacity, or even not full capacity. Like, on a Bee, he gives your shield enough juice to restore it many times over, and he can. The shield restoration beam he fires on you is a constant effect for its duration, and so if your shield was restored to full, but then is damaged again before the beam expires, it is restored again, allowing the use of the Bee's amp damage even under fire briefly. But on the other hand, if using something like a Hoplite, it won't actually fully restore it. I think it only gets me around +600k in shields or so from Buck Up. Well, at level 72 anyway.
    Make It Sparkle, from what I understand, can never reduce Deathtrap's damage. I don't know the exact value though I recall it being high, but basically when you shoot him with an element, it adds _additional_ damage of that element to his melee attacks, a substantial amount, not actually converting his existing damage. I think it may be like 2x as much as base. I never used it much because I found it difficult to manage with high anarchy and I for a long time didn't have a great corrosive gun for regular fighting so I'd switch to a crappy one just to give him corrosive vs. loaders, then switch to a shock gun for my damage but then accidentally hit him and just bleh. But I do recall it having a very noticeable, substantial increase in damage, even when elements weren't matched to weaknesses.
    As for shields, while I understand not covering it what with everything being OP8, for those who don't go into OP levels like me (and I know some others since the times I have coop'd I saw a fair few hanging back at 72), Hoplite is a really amazing shield on Gaige that I very highly recommend if you don't plan to go into OP levels where it breaks. The speed penalty isn't debilitating if you're the only one with it on, the shield capacity for me after bonuses is around 2.8 million and it, coupled with blood-soaked shields lets you just be such an amazing tank when mobbing (and even raid bosses generally can't break it in one, maybe even two hits especially if Deathtrap uses Buck Up between those hits, which is mighty awesome). And since it's a turtle shield, it makes keeping above health-gate with a Hail extremely easy too. The one problem though is you can't summon Deathtrap if you have Sharing Is Caring with this shield on, because it'll cause a glitch with the health reduction that depletes yours. >_>

      I've got Gaige up to OP7 and I didn't know about controlling him with the cross hairs! I agree about the Hoplite, but I found it viable up to OP5ish - if you get an OP1 or a perfect parts OP2 you can have 3,000 health and more than 3.5 million shield.

    What Gaige player does not take Cooking Up Trouble? This is one of her better skills, Derch. Combined with Blood Soaked Shields, you always have full shields and health with these 2 skills. If you have high anarchy stacks, you kill things faster, then your shield is full more often, your magazine is full more often, and it is just a feedback loop. This is a fantastic skill.

  • @IGSA101
    @IGSA101 Před 4 lety +2

    The nth degree is literally the opposite of diminishing returns, it happens more often the more points you put in. You gave the example of a shotgun with 20 pellets, with one point every ninth pellet that hit would chain. Resulting in two extra hits. With five points every fifth pellet would chain, or four of the initial twenty. and if you're using an smg or ar, and you also count each chain as an additional hit. So let's say we have an smg with 25 mag, the fifth bullet reflects and procs one point for the next rebound, so now the ninth bullet you fire (four past the fifth) will rebound then the 13th, 17th, 21st, and 25th. So you get six rebounds in a mag of twenty five, even though just by the numbers you'd get 5.
    Buck up is absolutely fantastic for speedruns, and more importantly, it's good for every situation other than the three you named, and one's a glitch. the hundreds of situations it's good in is far more important than the few it's bad in. "You're usually going to be using blood soaked shields." No, that's an awful skill in my opinion. unstoppable force is much better. Explosive clap hits multiple enemies for a lot and even in ult can kill alot of mobs outright, especially if you're slagging. 'Sharing is caring is bad because Timothy is the most overloaded character ever.' Meanwhile compliments jack on having synergy between his trees but Gaige is a badly designed character for the same thing.
    Close enough aims for crits rather than center of mass so you get shock storms quite often and with enough shock damage boosts it will kill enemies, plus it's boosted by coms. the only problem I've ever had with the stare is that it can glitch it you have it and buck up and dt can kill you instead. One two boom is actually really good so long as you pay attention, that thing you usually appreciate (Spirit bomb joke is inaccurate and unfunny). Overall a fair video, just some of your points are inaccurate or very biased opinion wise. Which is fine, i just disagree.

      And it's funny because i was playing with my gf last night and telling her that everyone always craps on With Claws. And i told her i've come to the conclusion that these ppl must just play the game really slow and timid. You know the ones afraid to get close to enemies... Even if you aren't going to use a dedicated melee build, a couple slashes when you're at very low health gets you past health gate. Also fun to finish off slagged enemies in style even without roid damage. Maybe it's not great for a capstone skill, but it's nowhere near a terrible skill.

      Cooking Up Trouble is great. Axton has a very similar skill and it's good for the same reason. You always go into every fight at full health and you'll heal up to full in between combat zones.

    • @DaShikuXI
      @DaShikuXI Před 7 lety +4

      Unboosted the skill can take up to 50 seconds to heal you and theres plenty cases where you dont have that much time between combat zones. It does not 100% guarantee you will go into combat with full health unless you specifically wait for it, at which point you might as well go buy some health at a vendor. Also instead of spending points on this skill you can just open a few crates in between combat zones. There's plenty crates in bl and they give you plenty healing kits.
      Outside of health gating, which lets be real is hardly necessary, i cannot see how this skill is useful at all.

  • @DemoniteBL
    @DemoniteBL Před 7 lety +56

    Regarding Deathtrap and aggro relieve on raids, it kinda depends on what you're doing. DT can really mess with the AI and make the fight take longer. If I want to kill the boss as quickly as possible I actually purposely don't summon DT. Terra, the Dragons and especially Gee are good examples. If DT is too close to Terra he'll start punching the ground until DT dies, which means you can't get upclose to Terra or you will die, and since you want to be close to him with Gaige, because of accuracy this can be a bad thing. For the dragons it can be annoying when DT causes the wrong dragon to land (and potentially make him unslaggable with a DoT). And for Gee you never want to summon DT, because once Gee melees him he'll stop moving and shoot his rocket launcher for a certain period of time, preventing you from letting him walk over acid pools (you can still use SIngularities I believe, but they're gonna run out sooner or later). On the other hand DT is nice for some other raids like Craw or Pete. Don't remember what he does to Voracidous or Hyperius, so he might be good there as well.
    And about melee on Gaige, while it is very niche it is extremely fun and viable on OP8 if you pre-stack (ofc not in raiding range, but most builds aren't). Between With Claws, Upshot Robot and her melee COMs (and also Strength of Five Gorillas, which is a minor boost) you can actually get a good amount of damage. With Claws actually increases her melee speed, which is another DPS boost. And together with all of DTs melee stuff you really get the synergy between Gaige and him you were looking for. And she does actually do a decent job taking hits to her health. WC gives you health on melee attacks, Cooking Up Trouble and Discord can work together, then there's Potent as a Pony and Made of Sterner Stuff and she has DT to take aggro relieve and deal a ton of damage as well. The 3 biggest problems Melee Gaige has are knockback, her shield skills and her dependence on stacks. Krieg is heavier than other characters so he can ignore knockback for the most part and Zer0 is rarely getting melee'd anyway because he is invisible. Gaige on the other hand has a hard time staying near enemies until they're dead and to also heal off of. Then there are all of her shield skills which won't work with roid shields. So you lose a ton of her abilities, but on the other hand it gives you free points to spent on other stuff. And finally she depends on having a lot of Anarchy stacks and while Upshot Robot isn't always needed with 400 stacks of Anarchy it can be a massive help but is very inconsistant. Overall it's no build you're going to solo the Peak with very quickly, but it's a ton of fun and has a lot more thought and synergy behind it than you might think. I'd defenitely say Gaige is the 3rd best melee class after Zer0 and Krieg. I think making Gaige semi-melee is a good thing, because it allows for more variety and doesn't leave you with only two classes that can purely focus on melee. I actually consider this good game design, just not executed in the best way.
    Regarding Close Enough it actually does reduce the damage of the Fibber and other ricochet weapons like the Stalker if it procs (the only exception is the Madhouse I believe, since it spawns 2 new projectiles). The damage reduction of the Fibber is just very small because it only reduces the listed bullets. On the Stalker however it can reduce the damage on every bounce assuming CE procs on every bounce, leaving you with extremely small damage numbers.
    Also Explosive Clap's damage is actually pretty small. It's less than Axton's Nuke (which does actually make sense since it's not a capstone, but it's still too low) and you can't control the explosion to knock back enemies when you want (and as you said it keeps DT from meleeing them). I still use it sometimes, but it's pretty meh.
    I also wouldn't compare Sharing is Caring to Jack's skill. I actually believe such a skill is better as a capstone than a gamechanger, because it can be so powerful.
    Also THANK YOU for explaining why WDT is a good skill and perfectly fine in the state it is.

      Also the orb of the Thunderball Fists deals is 150% damage, not 250%. ^^ I also wouldn't recommend the Seeker on Gaige. The firerate is just too low and the damage is only decent with high Anarchy stacks. The KerBlaster is just so much better, because it's not that difficult to just walk up to enemies. The Seeker also deals pure launcher splash, it doesn't have any extra damage. The Kitten is also pretty much just an inferior Hail and it becomes almost unusable with high Anarchy stacks. Also it should be noted that the Pitchfork's unlisted projectiles (just like the Harold's) don't get Close Enough.

      Agree with you on the Dragons and Gee, but against Terra he can be a great asset if you time it right. He can tank the ground pound on OP8 if you give him a shield, and if you release him at the right time and distance he'll draw aggro at medium and long range - leaving you free to get in close and lay waste. Coincidentally, releasing him when you've been flicked into the air can have him hover there for quite some time, drawing all aggro from you.
      Against Vorac he usually dies in three seconds if either of them decide to go melee. That's one of the times when the beam laser derp is actually something you want.
      Against Hype he acts as you'd expect, although he's almost guaranteed to get in close during the enrage phase, making that part trivial. Just be careful he doesn't catch any reflected bullets during the shield phases or you'll kill him :/

      Agree on melee Gaige, although I might rate melee Sal a bit higher. Best thing about Gaige is that she can recharge her roid and have it knocked down by the time she closes distance with an enemy, so she doesn't really need to strip her shield often. Its nice for QoL.

    For sharing is caring, If gearbox wanted to improve the quality of life of it (aka not doing the double switch) they should have put down your favorited shield (the star next to loot) will be the one that deathtrap equips over your own. If you have multiple of these shields, he will choose 1 at random. Would have probably been the best way for it. Sure you got to take up a backpack slot but that is relatively minor considering we have a big backpack and we don't have to deal with the whole shield recharge from switching it. Plus it would allow for a mostly useless mechanic to have gameplay purpose.

    I would say anarchy is her actual capstone in ordered chaos and they thought adding something else would make ordered chaos over powered but I agree it shouldn't have been a melee override. It's just anarchy has to be one of the first skills or the skill tree wouldn't work if anarchy was at the bottom. I would have preferred ordered chaos capstone to be something that improves accuracy and allows deathtrap kills to add anarchy stacks.

    Now that I think about it as you go through these trees it Dawns on me that they probably randomized where they put different skills amongst the three skill trees to mirror the idea of Anarchy. It seems pretty clear that some of the melee skills that should be associated with death trap are put in the other skill trees to impose a sort of Randomness to the process.Thr same with skills related to reloading and kills that would have a direct impact on Anarchy stacking being spread out across all three trees.

    Also a comment on wires don't talk: they seem to forget that many of the best grenades in the game come only in shock damage. So if you combine this with 30% of a Bone it actually goes to a more solid 45% more shock damage with EVERYTHING, grenades, guns, reload, electric storm, status effect, and furthermore when slagged because of the multiplicative. So yeah, it's actually not bad at all it's just not op but it does seem solid if you ask me.

    Gaige with community patch is so good. Between Nth degree, and the now only 1 ammo per shot pitchfork, she can wreck loaders, and the bunker is childs play, done in 3 bursts. Even at 150 stacks the pitchfork's pattern stays true. That plus a prodigy comm to counteract some of the accuracy issues, bad touch and shotguns with fixed spread (like twister or triquetra) seem to do pretty well. The triquetra does suffer at higher stack counts but with gaige and shotguns you're also inches away from enemies all the time. Also, the patch changed with claws to add swap speed, which makes gaige so much better at getting slag out and switching back to your damage gun.

    Hello fellow Vault Hunters!,
    It's amazing to see people still having discussions and innovating a game that's almost 6 years old. The UCP has been a massive breath of new life into a an "older game" and has reshaped the way a lot of us play this game. A very special thanks to Shadowevil and the other players that have been working tirelessly on the UPC. You guys are the true champions of the Borderlands. While a lot of the changes have been welcome I purpose a little shift in perspective when altering loot and characters, especially when it comes to character skills. Most of us especially the more seasoned players have been playing end-game for a very, very long time. This can alter the way we view different characters and abilities, which can impact the way they are fixed. So I purpose a challenge for our season players.
    I call it the Throwback Challenge
    Here are the rules
    Play UVHM (No OP levels)...yet
    Build your character without using the last 22 points you get from the additional level packs
    Use only Generation 1 class mods i.e (legendary Siren, Berserker, Soldier.. ect)
    No Pearl weapons i.e (Bekah, Godfinger, Sawbar...ect)
    No E-tech Relics i.e (Bone of the Ancients, Skin of the Ancients..ect)
    No Tiny Tina DLC loot i.e (Chain Lighting, Grogg Nozzle, Antagonist, Class Mods... ect)

    another two things that are great with discord is, the massive accuracy buff. you can be at 400 stacks of anarchy and a few buzzards come around, and you might be semi screwed, spending clips trying to hit them. had a side mission in the dlc where the entire area was buzzards. activated discord, had a nice time able to actually hit them, only lost around 100 stacks by the end of the mission. on top of that, before you have ways to get health back easily, which i kinda like with claws for, a lot of enemies try to get close, enough to use them for hp occasionally, kinda like the orphan maker + captain blade's otto idol for hp/kill

If you are using the Storm, the bullet will explode on contact with the ground, but if it procs, the splash damage will be reduced by 50%, since you need high amounts of anarchy to make Storm work, you will actually miss most of the shots, so its better not to spec on Close Enough if you are using it

    I feel deathtraps biggest problem is lack of synergy. I think Sharing is caring should be a game changer. And her capstone should give deathtrap the ability to revive gaige at the expense of killing deathtrap. and add the ability to recall him.I really think just that alone would fundamentally change deathtrap play style and actually create one where you have to be deliberate with when you use death trap. Completely just fantasizing but to have deathtrap be build similar to wilhem in the TPS, where you are able to have him either be combat or be your support. I''ve been playing around more with Gaige lately, this time with a shock build. Myelin is quite nice. UVHM dots are very scary and the scariest dots are shock dots imo. Enemies with shock weapons are super dangerous. For a tier 1, this skill gives you bigger shields and shock resistance. The two enemy types I hate most are Scavengers with shock guns and Ultimate Badass Pyre Threshers, and this skill helps a lot with the first group. Myelin also builds nicely off of Gaige's other skills, like Blood Soaked Shields and Fancy Mathematics, and makes her an ideal character for high capacity shields.
    Make it Sparkle is good too. It's free DPS on Deathtrap. You're only going to reach that capstone on a shock build, so accidentally giving DT the "wrong" element isn't going to happen. On a shock build, you'll be firing either slag or shock rounds and both elements are pretty neutral in this game. I don't know if DT can slag enemies for you if you slag him first, but I don't see why not. I know his attacks can set off the chain of shock+fire dots if you electrify him. I was doing the Hammerlock DLC lately with a Wired Zapper Gaige and DT does insane damage when you electrify him. All those Badass Savages and Witch Doctors get melted. Plus, DT naturally hangs out in the middle of a bunch of bad guys, so hitting him takes no special effort on your part.
    Make it Sparkle is really well-thought out imo. Gaige has all these skills to increase her shock damage, but her action skill has nothing to do with shock damage. This is a way to greatly improve DT and give you more synergy between him and Gaige. Unlike a lot of DT's damage skills in Gaige's trees, you get all that extra damage + more shock dots and fire dots with very minimal skill point investment.
    I don't know for sure if the damage bonus on DT is multiplicative or not, but it's elemental so it should be.

    Maybe a good skill or a built-in ability for Gaige would be something like this:
    Name: Enemy de la Revolucion
    Description: When Gaige hits an Enemy with a melee attack, the Enemy is marked. Then, Deathtrap will ignore all other enemies and attack only the marked target with a bônus melee damage based on How much anarchy stacks she has.

    i feel like the one thing that would have solved everyones deathtrap issues is if you could assign a button to have him go and attack a specific enemy, you cant make him go away after you summon him right? why not make it so pressing the action skill button while aiming at an enemy after you summon him makes him go and attack that specific enemy, for the most part you can leave him to do his own thing, but if you need him to attack someone specifically you could order him to
    edit: also, when you get buck up it should make it so you can press the action skill button on an ally to restore their shields, he still restores yours at random (not the best, but you cant exactly press the action skill button on yourself) but you need to order him to restore other players, so that way he wont randomly try and restore a rough rider or someone whos using a melee shield

You only get +0.6% melee per stack where your gun damage is +1.75% per stack so it's better to just use guns 100% of the time. They should've boosted it to a ridiculous degree that outshines the gun damage so it matches the high risk/high reward for the rest of the tree. Dazing is all he's good for but given he doesn't attack enemes you aren't looking at (leaving you open to attack) on a class that is squishier than Zer0 and has to kill people immediately. Doesn't help he takes forever to do it, and glitches up worse than Subsequence means he isn't even very good at that. And it absolutely pales compared to Lillith's and Brick's methods of Dazing.

    I think Deathtrap in general could be much better if Gaige had more control over him, like Wilhelm with his Surveyors.
    - You wouldn't be able to recall him still, but you could issue commands. For example, tap the bumper while pointing at an enemy, and he'll attack that enemy until one of them dies. Kinda like the designator skill in Wil's H-K tree.
    - The active skills would be entirely slaved to Gaige herself, and activated by holding your action button and pressing the D-pad. Clear trash mobs? Left for Explosive Clap. Squirrelly stalker or fleshy boss? Right for the Stare. Big group of tougher mobs? Up for 1 2 Boom. Need shields? Down for Buck Up. Upshot Robot and Robot Rampage could be used indiscriminately by Deathtrap so you don't need more buttons.
    This would've been a great addition with the recent DLC, but alas. Maybe a mod could do it for PC?

    what you want to try is to not max out unstoppable force and blood soaked shields but get around five levels between them.
    that way when you kill an enemy you get twenty to forty percent shields and the unstoppable force should regenerate the rest of your shielding.
    saves on health and still grants you large amounts of shielding

    For console players if the Reload impulse is really that strong you can empty the clip and allow Gaige to initiate an auto reload. This will not result in the loss of anarchy but can be a pain on weapons with big magazines or expensive ammo.

  • @mikezharov725
    @mikezharov725 Před 3 lety

    Her skill tree is a bit confusing, here is a way I understand it:
    Two most important facts about Gaige are:
    Electricity can effect and stun most enemies and Gaige is a in your face kind of character.
    Based on that with any Gaige Build you iether prioritise LBT's - Electric DOTs and focus on Stun/Croud Control/AOE
    OR you IGNORE LBT and go DirectDamage/DT/ANARCHY/Sharing is Caring/Firehawk
    Thus Her skills are based around those two diffrent approaches.
    The HP/meley dmg/dmg reduction skills are designed to synchronise with a meley+claws+roidshield+anarchy+DP build (no LBT/DOTs)
    Clap is a skill designed to get enemies of your back to allow your DOTs to work , just like the BlackholeShield + bloodSoakedShield build (LBT)
    cooking up trouble/ Unstoppable force are skills that allows gaige to reposition herself, and dance around/ bum rush enemies,
    these and bloodsoaked shields/ Buck up/ better half/ fancy mathematics are more gun/shield dependant.
    PS:
    Meley and Sniping are kind of niche and more often serve as a backup role to her primary.
    Sniping with gaige is kind of niche, there are verry limited options for that, so expect to be dancing around enemies.
    Close quarters and recoshet weapons are a specialty of Gaige, so use guns with a lot of multiple bullets/spam )

  • @calvinball1

    Gaige's skill tree design is great to make her feel "gadgety". You have to cobble together different things that have big effects on your playstyle, in different ways. The focus in shields also makes sense b.c she's a tinkerer and mechanical maker. So you get this flavor of a nerdy kid just getting into engineering, some questionably radical ideals, and picking different weird stuff for her personality. All wrapped up in a character design with clothes that look like a mix of HotTopic and Goodwill. For me it really works!

    • @Derchlands
      @Derchlands  Před 2 lety +4

      Conceptually it's very cool and she is an amazing charming character. The skills just don't come together like they do with others, pretty weak capstones. Reliant on anarchy.
      Like zer0 can go melee, sniper, hybrid, many playstyle and they are all quite different and effective.
      Gauge really can't go without anarchy and if you don't like the accuracy loss it's very hard to get into her.

    • @Derchlands
      @Derchlands  Před 2 lety +3

      Also Deathtrap, which again is cool, is disjointed. You don't have the synergy of phaselock or even the turrets. Or Jack's Digi Jack's in TPS feel a part of him, you can control targeting on flaks pets in 3. Axton can place and re call his turrets
      DT just goes out there, does whatever he wants and you hope for the best. You can say that goes with the whole anarchy theme, but in game play it's not great.

    I'm not sure if anyone's said anything about this yet but one more comment couldn't hurt as long as it helps someone. Made of Sterner Stuff by itself is a horrible skill but for some reason just by taking one point into it I think it reduces fire DOT damage by something like half. So if you just put one point into it it's basically a game changer skill that reduces fire DOTs plus adds Death Trap melee and like 1% damage reduction from everything else. It's still not amazing, but especially in the OP levels when DOTs are a huge annoyance it could be worth putting a point in.

    Side note, I find that death trap normally goes for badass enemies. I don't know if this is just coincidence but it seems he goes for the biggest threat.

    Hey Derch - nice movie :-)
    There's an odd synergy/lack of synergy between CUT and TBH (and they appear on the same COMs a lot so they seem deliberately paired together). I'm not sure whether to describe it as working against each other, or covering up for the other's weakness, but if you're getting the best out of one you won't be getting much out the other.
    Depending on the SLF effect, you may be better off going for non-matching grips on your low mag anarchy builders to keep them to 1 shot before reload.
    Law & Order is "kind of" usable if you want to melee, and the unlisted accuracy boost on the Law means you can go to 57 anarchy with no accuracy loss (from the wiki - crossing my fingers that's correct!).

    Gaige is AWESOME IF and big IF you spec her correctly,Anarchy is very powerful by it's self and all but her Dots are great if used with legendary catalyst and Bone shock,DTs great with Roboteer + Roid Shields+ Make it sparkle(Slag or Matching elements) and even thunder clap,the seven hits at once are both good in most situations and all his melee buffs,Her survial is amazing because Mylien, Unstoppable force,Blood soaked Shields,Cooking trouble and even potent as pony and made of sterner stuff + Heath+healing relic,Gaige is good if you the player can utilize her in her skills just like every character and she's not just ANARCHY and bullet deflection,Yes the gun damage is nice and op but you don't need 600~400 or even 150 to play her,25~100 is fine then discord for accuracy.If you like a Generic com use the Legendary Mechromancer for it's 4% healing,Nice Shield recharge with fancy mathematics,10/5 20% cooler=60%+29% from com plus bone=Way more cool down than needed,More pep for Dot,Death trap gets a little melee damage which is good,More reload,Then all of her purple and some blue coms with the mixed boosts can be good based on builds,Gaige is my favorite for her variety.Be smart and you'll love her.

    Personally, I'd like if there was an anarchy skill that increased her Melee damage per stack, and then her capstone was the same only it had a flat damage increase for the With Claws Melee strike, for example, 250% Melee damage per hit w/capstone but it still took an anarchy stack to use. Then she could just have a skill that adds between 3-5% Melee damage for each stack of anarchy she has and she could be a fairly decent Melee character. Only other thing I would want is a movement speed kill skill (or something like an active movement speed buff when Deathtrap is up) so she could run around meleeing enemies

    I think the problem with Buck up is on one hand that Deathtrap sometimes just does it at unpleasant time, on the other hand I think roid shields are just bad design. I mean, yeah people use them but really you sacrifice a lot of survivability for an alternative damage source that isn´t really any more potent than normal gun damage but puts you at a much higher risk. If I was to rework them I would pretty much turn them into a combination of spike shields and amp shields, so every time you melee someone/something you lose a bit of your shield charge and when the shield is down it needs to recharge to full again in order to have the special effect up and working again. This would make for an awesome synergie with buck up and it would also really help Zer0 out because it goes well with grim as you would actually restore shields and keep your melee spree going. Melee Krieg wouldn´t benefit that much from it but melee Krieg can be a bit odd anyways.
