- ICYMI: Kody Swanson had a highly successful early Saturday, following up his victory in the USAC Silver Crown opener with another score in a dominating performance with the midgets to complete a Carb Night Classic sweep at The Oval at Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Watching this, it reminds me of my father! As a kid, Friday nights, USAC Midgets at Hales Corners Speedway. Midgets were my introduction to auto racing by my father. Back then, there was a driver whom I took a liking to. Dick Jones!!!! I don't know, I was 8 or so. Dick would let me sit in his car as they pushed it onto the trailer. I was on top of the world!!!! Fond, fond memories. And my father, is solely responsible for my love of motorsports. Open wheel cars in particular!
Sure would love to see these cars come and race at The Milwaukee Mile!
Nice story. Some of my earliest memories of my dad are around racing. Made him look even cooler in my eyes than normal

Anybody know why usac hardly races on asphalt anymore? Love to see these guys on dirt, but they were also some of the best pavement races anywhere
Too expensive for the teams to have both dirt and pavement cars. The pavement car counts started to dwindle so they stopped. It would be tough to get this going again for too many races a year.

Imo, usac is one the the most entertaining spectator sports anywhere. Them running both kinds of tracks made it all the better. Have never been able to understand why they werent more popular.
