      Trading is mental game, that is why most people lose money because they cannot control their emotions. Because the prevalent idea of our culture is to effortless indulge and focus on their own pleasure and wellbeing, but controlling your emotions is unpleasant and painful and that is why most traders lose money because they don't want to meet the pain. That is why there is so many drugs, alcohol, obese and fat people, broken marriages and adultery.

    Doug is absolutely correct about debt. When I was early twenty’s I took out student loans and had I decently high credit limit. Took full advantage of both. Took me just over 11 years to pay all that off. The interest alone is a killer. Glad that is behind me because I sleep much better knowing I don’t own anyone anything. Never doing that again.

    Doug's right in the stocks and ETFs he's buying. I've stuck with lithium, uranium, natural gas and oil stocks and ETFs and still made money overall in 2022, despite the stock markets falling.

  • @Alexandrite.101
    @Alexandrite.101 Před rokem +21

    There is a HUGE difference between paper gold (ETF's traded in the stock market) and physical gold held at home. At the moment the two fetch the same price because they are bundled together however when the global economic crash happens and its imminent, you will see paper gold go south in price and physical gold go to the moon because its been held down by deliberate manipulation for so long. In many instances, over 60,000 of those ETF's have been written against the same one 1oz of physical gold, so you can imagine how many people are going to get burnt when they try to redeem their ETF's for physical gold. They will soon find out what 'or the like' means where it reads 'Redeemable for physical gold or the like' in their PDS.
    This is why BASEL III last year put PHYSICAL gold on tier 1 and announced "Physical gold held at home is the ONLY asset that holds no counterparty or political risk". Not ONE of the only but THE ONLY asset.
    Physical gold has had an impeccable record as sound money and a hedge against inflation for THOUSANDS of years. It has the broadest base of buyer in the world, making it the most attractive tangible asset one can own. This is why governments and central banks have colluded with big business to suppress the price of gold via ETF's and by allowing companies like JP Morgan to blatantly manipulate the price of gold without any serious repercussions. The last time JP Morgan was caught manipulating the gold price (earlier this year), they made a 20 BILLION dollar profit from it and the courts fined them just $962 MILLION dollars. I think it's fair to say that most business people would consider a less than 5% fine as just another cost of doing business wouldn't you? The reason the government allow them to get away with this illegal and immoral behaviour is because a rising gold price is an indication of a failing currency.

    • @itoinc1026
      @itoinc1026 Před rokem +2

      No political risk? Forget about that time in 1933 that they confiscated it? And no mention of silver? Been used just as long as gold and never got confiscated... in the US at least.

    • @Alexandrite.101
      @Alexandrite.101 Před rokem +1

      @@itoinc1026 I can't see them banning gold again because unlike back in the day, people these days have little, if any trust of the government. If the government said to hand in your gold or else, everyone would just go with the 'or else' today. Once gold is in the community, there is no tracking it which is why they hate it so much.
      As for Silver, I own that too however it is the 2nd monetary metal and I was focusing on the 1st monetary metal in my post.

    "The crisis now unfolding, however, is entirely different to the 1970s in one crucial respect… The 1970s crisis was largely artificial. When all is said and done, the oil shock was nothing more than the emerging OPEC cartel asserting its newfound leverage following the peak of continental US oil production. There was no shortage of oil any more than the three-day-week had been caused by coal shortages. What they did, perhaps, give us a glimpse of was what might happen in the event that our economies depleted our fossil fuel reserves before we had found a more versatile and energy-dense alternative. . . . That system has been on the life-support of quantitative easing and near zero interest rates ever since. Indeed, so perilous a state has the system been in since 2008, it was essential that the people who claim to be our leaders avoid doing anything so foolish as to lockdown the economy or launch an undeclared economic war on one of the world’s biggest commodity exporters . . .
    And this is why the crisis we are beginning to experience will make the 1970s look like a golden age of peace and tranquility. . . . The sad reality though, is that our leaders - at least within the western empire - have bought into a vision of the future which cannot work without some new and yet-to-be-discovered high-density energy source (which rules out all of the so-called green technologies whose main purpose is to concentrate relatively weak and diffuse energy sources). . . . Even as we struggle to reimagine the 1970s in an attempt to understand the current situation, the only people on Earth today who can even begin to imagine the economic and social horrors that await western populations are the survivors of the 1980s famine in Ethiopia, the hyperinflation in 1990s Zimbabwe, or, ironically, the Russians who survived the collapse of the Soviet Union."

    he nearly had me....then he talked about the actual insurrecion.These people all looked rather similar. If these same people who were arrested saw minorities doing half of what they did on january 6th they wouldn't be saying they were peaceful and that it was nothing...hell it wouldn't have even needed to be a govenment building that goin broekn into. if a crowd a 20th fo the size was minotries and didn nothing but stand still and hold signs these same ppl would say they were domestic terrorists and deserves to be put to death, and would also be the same ppl who would defend police when the authorities needlessly killed them for [a crowd 1/20th the size was standing still - not stampeding a gov't build] standing still..... the conservatives in this country are unbelieveable.....don't get he wrong the dems and liberals aren't far off cause basically everyone has lost their damn minds being extremist but ....what can we say....here we are... He'll i bet conservatives would even think it would justifiable for a cop to kill a unarmed black teen litterally minding his own business heading back home with a hoodie on and holding skittles just because he may or may not have looked shady. oh wait. I'm telling you.....fear kills.

    ✝️ Repent and believe in the gospel
    *And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.*
    Hebrews 9:27‭-‬28 NKJV
    The gospel of Jesus Christ

    The time has come for the people who have been living above their means to take from those who have been working hard and have had a relatively meagre existence. As far as I can see, that is happening in Ukraine with Russia taking Ukrainian people and their houses. However self interested Americans are, the problem is not just in America. Gold probably is a safe haven, but it always would have been in the end.
    Trump probably would have sacrificed the Ukrainian people to buy America another year or two, but eventually it would have been Poland and Germany. Notwithstanding, I was able to easily envisage China inflicting a new "Pearl Harbour" event on America. For all that Biden is bad, maybe somehow America did the right thing in advance of the coming world war three. Maybe even it will take the steam out of it. No doubt America will charge the world for the privilege, such is its prerogative. So yes, gold probably is a safe haven.
