    If you had a 5 gallon bucket of snap rings in the truck, you could put it on and take it off a hundred times perfectly. If you only had one, you could lose it in a empty broom closet with white floors.

    I'm not a professional and I'm not comparing saws but I'm a long time Husqvarna fan. I have the older 340 and 350 models. My aunt and uncle bought me the 120i for Christmas. I'm amazed by it. It has a 3/8'' pinch chain and I believe a .043 gauge bar. Nice little 14 inch bar and chain. Its a very impressive, smooth cutting and light unit. I love the savE economy switch that slows the chain speed without compromising power, I can limb and buck a pretty nice size balsam fir ( 60 feet long and 12 inches at the base) on one change and have just a little juice left over. The third and last light flashing. Nice review of the 536.

  • @erlendgreulichfrontierbigw218

    I use the 540i for tree work as I shared before. Stumbled upon them during fire restrictions in Colorado...where reg chainsaws are restricted to 9am to 12 noon during certain periods. To stay productive. Now I use it regularly. The 540i top-handle will convince you August! Will try your conversion. Kind regards

Mine sits in the back of the campervan for all easy and quiet collection of a bit of firewood while traveling and it has also been used to clear a large tree that fell on a track. I have 3 other gas C/S that are used for general wood collection C/S activities. The 140 has also been used as a backup to the gas saws and clearing fence lines of rubbish after floods.

    Hi August. I enjoy watching you and your well trained crew work. But i especially like this fun comparison tween the chains & bars. The side by side up close shots of chain & sprockets really shows the size difference. Years ago when i was cutting a lot of pinion pine for firewood down here around Wellington Nevada i tried some square ground chain on my Husky 357. It was noticeably faster thru the cut tho it is also less favorable in dirty conditions. I got it from Les @ Myrtle Creek saw shop north of you. I have not fired up the Husky now in 10-12 years for any serious cutting but i do use a harbor fright plug in electric chain saw from time to time to keep a rogue Branford pear under control in the front yard here in Reno. Keep up the good videos & God bless.

    FYI, the .043" ga chain is 3/8" low profile NARROW KERF. I've a few loops for a Tanaka polesaw. My bet is that the determining factor here is chain sharpness and joint (depth of depth-gauges). Having used 1/4", 3/8"LP and 3/8" LP NK, no way would I bother with 1/4". Yes, it's claimed to give a smoother cut. I tried to put that to use- didn't happen. I've never broken a 3/8" LP chain of any type in many hundreds of hours running polesaws or conventional chainsaws up to 42 cc. There's a reason for larger pitch on tablesaws and bandsaws- cutting production vs heating.

    interesting, i think i would take a slightly slower saw that has a bigger tooth for filing, i hate sharpening tiny chain

    Have you tried the Echo Battery saw? I picked one up on a whim a few weeks back when I was in a pinch and was pretty blown away by how well it cut. Admittedly, it is a little heavier than its battery powered counterparts, but it also out cuts them by a good margin. I'd be curious to get a panther bar on that and see what happens :)

    Hi August,
    I just got a DeWalt battery saw. It has that newest .043 chain on it. What is that about? Why the new chain gauge?

      🤷🏼‍♂️ low pro, I assume it’s a blend of less drag, anti-kickback, and moderate durability.

    I'm curious if that Panther 1/4" conversion kit will work on Sthil chainsaws like the 194T or 201T?

    i use 1/4 pitch all the time, its great for some things, but wears easily, and cloggs easily...we use it all the time in carving, breaks a lot, and binds up a lot, but chain is pretty expendable when youre making money off it, just carry more, and make your own loops😂😆😆

    Why is it that nobody ever asks "how long will a tank last?" about a petrol powered saw? As soon as there is review on a battery saw, battery life seems to be the only concern.

    • @Deezle_Gaming
      @Deezle_Gaming Před 3 lety

      Because you can refill a fuel tank in 30 seconds vs the hour+ it takes a battery to charge.

      @@matslindstrom6889 And then you need at least a couple expensive batteries and chargers constantly charging to maintain a working pace for any length of time. Battery saws have their place, but you will never beat the energy density and convenience of liquid fuel.

    Every time you sharpen a chain it tends to get more vicious AND less long lasting so you'd just as well start off with the stock, imo.

    • @damonthomas8955
      @damonthomas8955 Před 3 lety

      It certainly shouldn't and that has not been my experience. Pay attention to the filing angle and take down the rakers correctly and the chain should cut exactly the same from new to the very end.
