Sun roof must be given as a option like in the Nexon variants. Other manufacturers should follow tata in this regards
True, kudos to the team for bringing up this unspoken topic which is very necessary. I avoid buying brezza zxi only because of the sunroof.
Excellent Topic. You guys nailed the point. I purchased Taigun and never liked the Sun roof. Unfortunately I had to go with Highline compromising a lot of features
How is the performance of the AC with the sunroof bro. Was looking at Taigun as well but am worried about AC performance. Any advice?
Big Thanks to the entire team. Hope manufacturers consider customer requirement and will not club sunroof with any other features in the upcoming products. Typical Indian conditions scorching heat and dusty conditions aren't suitable for sunroof. Sunroof is not a safety or convenience feature hence manufacturer should consider offering it as separate variant it will also help manufacturer in reducing price and improving sales
ONE OF THE BEST PODCAST. MANUFACTURERS FORCING THE CONSUMERS TO BUY THE PRODUCT OF THEIR CHOICE . THEY DON'T CONSIDER CONSUMER CHOICE.
Making sunroof as optional can save time, energy and cost. Thanks to MotoWagon to carry our concern to the industry. 👍
200% Correct. It's not mandatory but all top models today they given
Not even skipped a second..Such insightful content and detailed analysis. This should definitely reach manufacturers and bring a change. Cheers team.Vera level

One of the best Podcast from @mwteam... this topic was exactly in my mind and wanting to hear from you and as usual you guys nailed it. All the best and keeping treating us like this :)
Very very true. Additional Safety features kaaga having to book higher variant. But dont want sunroof. Extra cost, Maintenance nenacha bayama iruku. Sedan la sun roof thevaiyae illa(My view. No offence)
Sunroof badhila ventilated seats ella vandilayum kudutha nallarukum
A very valid topic which was in my mind for a long time! Sunroof is purely influenced by kids and the initial showoff. but its pain in maintenance later.
I had the same point long back when my friend bought MG Hector. There is no choice, even if we don't want we have to go for it.
Asir Bro, you just nailed it. I was actually looking for this. I had to buy my MG Hector with sunroof, even though I don't require it. Let's see how I can maintain it.
200% unmai dhaan ! Sunroof , Adas idhellam optional ah kudukalam!
More than Sunroof turbo engine being forced on for top model by all car manufacturers is another worry.
Engine option is to be left for buyers choice
Are there any Cons for turbo engine??
@@vink88 ultimate decision should rest with buyer pros cons is not the issue
People often purchase convertible vehicles because they imagine they’ll get the roof down all the time, but the reality is very different. Often it is simply too hot, too cold or too windy to drive with the roof down - and as a result the driver eventually stops using it. From what I’ve seen, panoramic sunroof equipped vehicles often suffer a similar fate.
Like a convertible, a panoramic sunroof by design is an ‘all or nothing’ proposition. In most vehicles, you can’t have the sunroof open unless the internal sunshades are completely retracted, meaning the entire vehicle is open to the sun. This makes it pointless to leave the sunroof open or tilted whilst parked (in an effort to vent hot air from the vehicle) as the glass roof will let in far more heat than the sunroof can expel.
In addition, sunroofs are often too loud to have open at speeds above 80kmh (50mph), unless you enjoy yelling at your passengers in order to have a conversation.
very very very appreciative video.... neraya practical points feed pannitinge MW... i think indha video nalla views varum, neraya reach aganum... super super super... i just loving this motocast ❤❤❤
The automobile industry should actually digest this content!
There is sun film model called CR70 which is avoiding sun heat not the vision, but it’s expensive.
Exactly i have raised this to bro...this is really annoying for me. Can't choose top end without sun roof. Nothing but forced to buy with sunroof
Honda city 2023 V variant is the only variant which comes with all nesseory and safety features and without sunroof(except 6airbag but still they give 4 airbag) .
They gave all features (even ADAS) which cannot be fixed in aftermarket.
1)cruse control 2)adas 3)auto AC 4) infortainement with wireless connect and reverse cam
💯 agree with everything discussed here 👍👏. Sunroof should be an optional choice. I do like it but don't need it. It's a hassle to clean & maintain just like the dual glass panes we once used in the shelves/cupboards in our houses which was a fashion in those days. Over the time, it gets dirty, stuck etc. Personally, I wish manufacturers could give us bi-color (White & Yellow) LED Headlights & Fog lamps where we can switch to the yellow while driving through heavy rains or mist too which would be legal thing than fitting fog lamps and would also be an added safety feature which is more practical too.
Skoda kushaq top end style offers with and without sunroof, but without sunroof there is no stunning virtual cockpit 😢
I bought honda city 5th gen v variant cvt, I am happy with it. I have cvt, I have 1.5 petrol engine, paddle shifters, tyre pressure monitor, seat adjustment, engine key start, press button start, automatic climate control, honda connect navigation, wide screen and reverse cam. The Only things I have been missing on my car is 16 inch alloy wheel. Before taking delivery I asked several times to honda dealer to provide me 16 inch wheel for additional payment. But they refused to gratify my demand.
Yes, I never used the sun roof. Ideally it is not really needed for countries like India. It is designed for cold countries where feeling the sun all time is not possible and they want to get it even while driving. I am really concerned about the panoramic sun roof in terms of safety now a days.
Yes. I really wanted a Taigun without sunroof. The non-panoramic sunroof is not exciting.
When I bought my Honda CRV in 2008 when I was in AbuDhabi it was a very thrilling feature to have that sunroof. Believe me, we never used it after buying this as frequently. If manufactures can provide me more features in place such as 1. Folding mirrors, 2.360deg camera, 3. Retractable shades as in Kia cars, 4. Phone charger, 5. Head up display etc..
Bro.. perfect point and valid.. when this vdo started expected that u will cover all the points related to the safety we lose coz of this sun roof.. the same impact which wld create a slight scratch in metal roof will create huge and costly damage to sun roof.. this in my view makes the passengers prone to lesser safety zone...
Amazing analysis. I wanted to go for a mid range car with sunroof. Honestly, I didn't think of practical problems in maintaining sunroof. This discussion is a great eye opener. Thank you.
Appreciation guys. You chose the excellent topic what we have been thinking regarding new gen vehicles. Thank you so much to share the ideas which will help to fuel the thoughts to introduce new choices in mentioned segments.
Excellent and unique content! Worth spending time for this video. Points are clean and clear. 14:34 Similarly if we (who loves driving) want 1.5 TSI DSG top-end, we have to get with sunroof only. No other options. EVERY OTHER CAR MANUFACTURES HAVE TO CONSIDER THIS . Kudos for the content team!
Same for me.. also I dont like too much chrome in cars.. but all top end has too much of chrome😢 like body color door handles looks good to me.. but no top end offers it..
Even Verna sx.features good beckz of sunroof...
Actually ready to pay extra to have sunroof removed. Forced to go for mid variants.
Good Topic. Today's podcast is very interesting . The best part is all 3 of them actively participated . Mr Dani rocked.
Another much needed topic to discuss. Kudos MW.
Speaking about chassis and engine combo, now Tata doesn't have MJD, VW doesn't have TDI back then Ford also didn't have 1.5 tdci when they launch the Fiesta S.
Ford is always ahed 😓
This was interesting topic bro. It really made me think about this.
This episode was really fun and informative. Really enjoyed it.
Very valid point and a bad marketing strategy to confuse the buyer.
Amazing Topic Team ❤ Many customer's face this issue. Thanks for bringing out the unaddressed topic which is really important.
Meanwhile, Me having my vehicle without Sunroof reading the comments be like 👉😁😁
Same happened to me. Bought Brezza Zxi AT which came with sunroof. Instead they could have provided 9 inch screen and armrest. 10 years ago Maruti had (O) variant for airbag. Now they can give (s) variant like that
Also for hatchback and SUV they should make rear wiper mandatory across models. But these ppl wont do 😢
Sun roof is waste of a feature, OEMs could wisely spend that money on body structure integrity and improving safety components performance.
Cost involved are,
1.Sun roof cost
2.Testing and validation cost
3.OEM charges premium over and above the part cost
4.component tooling and development cost
5. Tax
Every new feature is an opportunity to make money.
As usual, technical and logical discussions. Kudos Asif bro and team!
Nice presentation. I am using Creta 2020 model. I use Sunroof open in almost all the village roads.
sure, Looking for sedan top end without sunroof. However no choice except Ciaz😅.
Adding another epic podcast nice topic 32:27 semma value point👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 thanks for this
Sunroof must be optional variant. Features must modified from booking and selection of features must be provided.
More sensible topic . I faced this issue in buying safari .. I need ventilated seats but comes only with sunroof ... So I pushed to buy xz variant instead of xz+ where I miss ventilated seats
Very good discussion. When I was planning to purchase a car I was relectant to take a car with sunroof. so many people may be like me.
Vera level 😍 explanation
Vera level bro❤
Yes it is forced one.. initially i planned for brezza without sunroof.. but i have chosen ZXI version for cruise control, other things.. not much interest on sunroof
I avoid buying brezza zxi for this reason!
Same. We bought a zxi and the sunroof is totally unnecessary. They could have given us 6 airbags and ventilated seats in its place.
Same story. Went for Zxi to have cruise and wireless CarPlay
Very Good Conversation MW team.. I had this idea for long time period.. seems that sunroof should be given not in imposing but on choice on all variant respectively.. it should be picked by any customer at any variant from base-mid-top model.. And also sunroof eliminate the chance of roof rails.. Manufactures should think about it..
Best topic! A la carte or at least Citroen C3 like package selection should be given to customers.
தெளிவான மற்றும் தரமான பதிவு❤
Excellent discussion
Yes Totally I agree your points My Point Of view No Need sunroof indian conditions
Manufacturer can give customise option where buyer can choose what they want..
Later based on top customised selling product they can build a variant...
In Europe lot of premium cars like Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi and range rover offer manual transmission in their models and i have even spotted a BMW X5 xdrive 30dM with no sunroof on it
Really good content...When I was test driving GV recently, the panoramic Sunroof was a bummer. the fabric to close the sunroof was so see thru that it was letting in a lot of light and heat. It was one of the reasons why I didn't go for the top variant. The industry is doing it plain wrong and your article is very relevant.
BTW - Why don't you run a poll in Twitter and YT to understand how ppl maintain Sunroof?
Definately its a forced choice sir....Its useless feature for India....I am interested to buy Brezza ZXI variant but i dont want Sunroof and VXI doesnt comes with more features....But sadly it comes with Sunroof....Hence i am not considering to buy that....Atleast Maruthi should offer as ZXI optional....Instead of Sunroof they can offer 6 Airbags that will be ideal choice for many....
Excellent topic, you guys made the point clear. I am planning to buy mid range SUV with hybrid (Grand Vitara), but I dont want Sun Roof, there is no option for me. Under serious dilema for which one to go. The discussion had a point which need to go to the manufacturers, this option concept will give more sales to the manufacturer also. But why they are not making options available to customers is not known. Manufacturers should also catch the pulse of the customers on this regard. Hope options may be made available without sunroof with all other features. I appreciate your discussion fully.
Very True. When i bought XUV300 in 2019, I was looking for safety features and only the top end offered 6 airbags and it had a sunroof.
Wonderful discussion.. I really want to buy a top model without sunroof.. so I am forced to go to lower version as I never use it … especially in Tamilnadu or hotter states does not require sunroof..I guess companies are forcing us to pay more even we don’t use it 😮
Good point, there has to be a non sunroof variant with essential features present in top end.
Very good topic and I agree 💯
I booked Brezza VXI to avoid sunroof which I don’t need
Thank you team for bringing this up. We did not want sunroof. But we were forced to accept it.
11:30 my suggestion is companies can just take normal variant car and upgrade it to top-end without sunroof
I want a higher model without sunroof. Your suggestion is ok.
This is excellent and exactly required topic. Customers are forced to accept Sunroof even when they're not a fan of it.
Excellent podcast really as consumer we want options I think for our climate I don't think we want sunroof but we want ventilated seats, for me I want ventilated seat but don't want sunroof searched everywhere to get a car like that atlast i found xl6 that's the only car that have ventilated seat without sunroof so I booked xl6
Skeletal discussion over these compulsion of sunroof.... Nice guys..
மிக முக்கியமான தெளிவான பதிவு....
அருமை மக்களே😊
The majority of customers don't need sunroof, because it doesn't make any sense to have it but Ventilated is very necessary for our climate. hats off Motowagon very useful content, this video could reach and get some change from manufacturers.
Nice topic, sun roof non sunroof is the perfect option
Apart from sunroof, today's every car dealer is dumping a useless accessory in the name of vent visor on the doors. It doesnt provide any considerable usage but it totally degrades the aesthetics of the car. Not only that, it also downgrades the already available poor aerodyanmics of our indian cars. Each and every car dealers are easily looting 1500-2500 for this vent visor alone. It would be an eye opener for our car buyers by knowing this scam by the dealers.
Fun filled Episode and excellent analysis
Yes. It is. Sunroof a forced choice in buying in the top models. Recently I enquired for Grand Vitara Top model. But it has a sunroof which I don't want because of the radiation inside the cabin. But we miss the 360 camera and premium leather seats where the same is not available in the top down model.
Anna Hyundai creta review pannunga
I agree with you sir. I don't want sunroof. But I want a higher end model.
Fantastic information
Windows needed tints for sun reflection. If windows are covered with body and 360 camera can do clear visibility even in night.
Dear MotoWagon Team, I appreciate the content of this video. Thanks to requesting the without sunroof variant in the top-end model the car manufacturers on behalf of common people like me. I have a few suggestions below:
1. Could you please explain briefly about the BS-6 Phase-2 norms that the BS-6 Phase-2 norms will apply to car and bike manufacturers in India from the 1st of April 2023? What are the BS-6 Phase-2 norms and how are they implemented?
2. Somebody told me that the government recommended not buying any used vehicles older than 20 years old. Are there any rules implemented by the state or central government in India?
3. My suggestion to Anson is, you said "please watch all our MotoCast episodes on youtube and hear the podcast on Spotify '' on every podcast video. I appreciate it. But you didn't watch the Motocast episode-17 as you mentioned in this video at 19:48 time frame. You are one of the important members of the MotoWagon. So, first, you should watch/hear all your podcast episodes.
Good discussion boys....!!
Yes... Sunroof is enforced... It's not a fair customer oriented deal..
Very truly said sir when tata harrier came, I had noted this... I am not at all interested in sun roof. Manufactured should be more in vehicle stability, performance, mileage, all are not mentioning even in TV adds..
I bought i20 initally i planned for mid varient. But due to Basic Things like rear Seat Adjustable headrest which is only present in top end. I had to buy the top end.
I20 Chennai la indha satta tha potrundhen. Waaah what a memory anna ❤
In my pov..... it's easy to manufacturer's to include the sunroof..so there won't have to
specifically manufacturer a variant for there EXPORT car's that sell in foreign markets....😅😅😅
Good topic. In my experience l don't have any interest in the sun roof hence went with s lavis style ( non sun roof). As asir sir said there is no digital cockpit but in my belief a normal one is a lot better than a digital one.
Correct bro, new verna vanguren, sx variant la than proper 16 inch alloys and remaining essential features iruku, but unavoidable ah sunroof um varuthu. Antha sunroof ku bathila ventilated seats, electronic seat adjustment kudutha kuda use aagum. Im forced to get sunroof car now
Really romba correct Asir Bro at time 31:22 , 34:30 , 35:37 for car enthusiast.
I am alive today and commenting this , Today my taigun saved my life with collision braking and electronic stability from major accident from happening near maruvathur
Sunroof vanthu apartment la erukara balcony maathiri thaan. Ethukum use aagathu but athu eruntha thaan azhagu
Sunroof is necessary feature of this modern era and used enjoy with natural light ,air and beautiful vision in hill stations.
U r speech is accurate about thing this real this type of video will watch car company's and mad customers
After 5 years sunroof cars are very low revalue it's true so many problems
Nice topic bro.
Very good topic. I also do not like sunroof. Because of the sunroof I purchased a Honda City V.
Though I like Sunroof, I like this topic and discussion. Great. 👏👏👏
