I'm a big Jeezy fan, but that tiny desk wasn't good. He tried to get the crowd involved too much and I didn't get to the part where he forgot words. It's was almost unwatchable.

Juvie and Manny made it about the crowd and even had an encore. Scarface controlled the crowd so much it was way more professional. It seemed short notice for Jeezy

One of the biggest things is Jeezy didn’t judge the crowd. You can’t expect fan participation in a venue like that. Add that with the fact that a big part of what makes a Jeezy song is his adlibs and they weren’t there made this seem as a lack luster performance.

Ice is absolutely correct. This ain't hating on Jeezy. I seen a concert recently, no regrets on my end either, but the Tiny Desk had me thinking NPR needs to be de-funded. The show four months ago was great, this performance made me reflexively think about stuff like if I could charge back my hydro bill for electricity used to watch this, scrapping NPR, and a "WTF HOW DID NPR GO AND GENTRIFY THE SNO MAN???" It needs to be illegal to gentrify people's artistic expression like this.

The biggest problem was the choices of the songs… and the college students in the crowds that didn’t know any of his songs . He needed a middle age crowd… simple as that
When I was 22 I didn’t think I had shit figured out. Had my first kid, was trying to figure life out, just started my first better paying but hard labor job. It took me to late 20s to start understanding things
He brought a crowd from Howard so it wasn’t just clerks. He forget his lyrics. The song selection was a B at best
THANK YOU, ICE!!! Mannnn, I thought it was just me. He definitely forgot the words on Go Crazy and Everythang. He tried to restart the song on Go Crazy, but forgot them again. The crowd was full of Generation Z Howard University students, who were probably only 2 years old when he was one of the top rappers of his era. So, they barely knew the words to his songs. He seemed unprepared, energy was low, and it seemed like he was relying on the crowd to carry him through it. The band was phenomenal and the best thing about his performance. I was so disappointed because I'm a BIG Jeezy fan as well, but I'm willing to call a spade a spade on this one. I HIGH key agree with Ice.

Jeezy was way too chill. Maybe it was the playlist or the volume of the instruments or the lack of crowd participation or all the above. Whatever the reason, it was hard to give a "thug motivation" 😂😂😂 but Jeezy gets a pass for this. I have to become a fan of Tiny Desk. No shade, but, it is what it is.
Tiny Desk is a different beast. Jeezy didn't look comfortable. Tiny Desk, the artist has to marry the music, the mood and live inside, all around and on top of the pockets. I felt uncomfortable for him.

NPR set him up to fail. It worked a few times at first but the cry baby hippie venue of NPR isn't the right place. A black owned business should be orchestrating these intimate live performances.
Half into the performance, one girl was looking down like "I expect more" it was very narcisistic if that was her true thoughts. It's a tiny performance lol. What do you expect?
