Thank you for this - there are a number of people curious about how these two emitters compare. I'm impressed at how well the SFT40 is able to put comparable brightness over a larger area than the CULPM1 at the longer ranges.

Excellent comparison! I want one! 😛 But I just got my M21B with CULPM1 6A a little over a week ago, and I love it! So thank you for the review of the light as it greatly helped me deciding to purchase it.
I'm a little hesitant to put an 8A driver in a light this size because of the heat generated, but I imagine that the lower settings would be a bit brighter too compared to the 6A driver when set to the same setting using the same led. Do you know if this is the case, or are they basically the same visually at levels 1 thru 4?

For culpm1, I think 6a is enough. For sft40, I haven't tried it with 6a driver. The new m21c uses sft40 + 8a driver. That's why I use the 8a driver. 8a It gets hot really fast. Next, I will try sft40 in c8 flashlight and use 6a driver because the 8a driver can't fit in c8+ or m21a. For the brightness that each driver delivers, I think 4 modes driver gives better brightness level - level1 and 2 are quite different. But for the 12 modes driver, both 6a and 8a in 1st mode, level1 and level 2 are not much different. This is what I don't like. I hope you will enjoy my review. @@weerapatkiatdumrong Nice, cant wait, the sst 40 emitter in 8a is pushed near the limit of its amperage capability, some test reveals the sweet spot is around 7,xx amp so wether its 8a or 6a wont show much lumenwise, except for the heat.👍🏼 ขอบคุณ ครับ🙏🏽

I used m21b. I just replace sst40 led with sft40 sir. I still use the same gasket. Yes, there are still some rings in the beam. Op reflector can help get rid of those rings but it may throw less. Thanks for watching sir 😊. Please subscribe 🙏.

Hello sir. I think sft40 or sst40 will suit your need sir. Sft40 is available in 6500k only. Sst40 has 5000k and 6500k. I think xhp50.3 hi is also a good led and may be available with more tints in the future. Thanks for watching and your support sir 😊🙏.

M21B. Trust me. S16 has annoying rings in the beam because of its stainless crown head. M21B has both smo and op reflector. More spare parts than S16. Thanks for watching sir.

I don't have L21B sir. But I have L21A. It has good throw. What you should know about convoy flashlights is the driver inside. For example, S21B can use the same driver as used in big flashlight like L21A. The difference is just the host or led. Same led and same driver but in different host. Something like that sir.

How about the hear generated by SFT40 in high mode? Can it sustain longer than sst40? Thanks
To be honest sir. I haven't tried high and turbo mode more than 1 minute because I made this flashlight for tactical purpose - dealing with dog chase. But from my experience, in high mode sft40 is brighter than sst40. That means it will be hotter. In turbo, it will get hot fast - within 1 minute. I am not sure whether when it will step down. Sft40 is a very bright and hot led. You should deal with it carefully. From the review that I read, sft40 can deal with 20a current! budgetlightforum.com/node/78168

Difficult question! I have them both as I like them both. Sft40 is very powerful, good thrower. Culpm1 has good tint (a bit yellow) with a lot of beam intensity. If you want more lumens, go to sft40.I f you want warmer tint, and high intensity, go to culpm1. Thanks for watching sir.

I think you should use s21b. It is better and easier than s21a when you want to change the reflector, tir lens or emitter. It can also hold 22mm driver. For the led, sft40 is more powerful than culpm1. If you want a thrower with big spot, use sft40. But if you want beam with high intensity and throw, use culpm1. Thanks for watching sir.
