Great signing. We need him when the Bears let Keenan Allen go end of season. Heck 27.5 mil in future years could be a huge steal. 35 mil for Jefferson this year. Maybe WR goes for 40 mil by then.

I don’t think this specifically affects us extending KA. There was no scenario where we extended him over DJ anyway. IMO Scott does not allow me to sleep tight knowing that’s our starting WR3. We need a better insurance and I think Poles knows that. There’s still a chance for us to keep #13!!!

With Rome Odunze and Caleb Williams under rookie contracts, I’d say, if Keenan Allen is healthy & plays great and the Bears take a huge leap forward as a team in 2024, then I’d be OK with giving Keenan Allen a front loaded contract offer. Give Allen the big payday he wants, but have it structured where the Bears are really only on the hook for the guaranteed money for 2 more years.
After those 2 years, you re-evaluate Keenan Allen’s worth to the Bears, with Rome Odunze hopefully grown into a star WR and DJ Moore still being at his peak.
