This is such a cool video! I hadn't heard of a lot of these books but they all sound so interesting, I just added a bunch to my tbr :) i love hearing about underrated books!

This was such a cool video idea! I hadn’t heard of most of these. My Sister the Serial Killer sounds so good (plus I love a short book 😂). I have also been looking forward to reading The Vanishing Half! I’m obsessed with Brit Bennett’s covers!
Haha it’s quirky but I think it’s such a fun read, especially if you’re easing into the genre! It is kind of polarizing though, I’m pretty sure a lot of booktubers think it’s over hyped. But it was her debut novel and I think it was so different than anything I’ve ever read.
I have been wanting to pick up My Sister the Serial Killer! I have heard it is strange but really good too!

I love weird book recs!! love my sister the serial killer - it's such a weird one and i don't know how to categorize it. i was chatting with some people the other day and we're like character study? literary fiction? literary thriller? idk lol. I really want to read a Brit bennet book, either Mothers or the Vanishing Half
My sister the serial killer transcends genres lol and I want to read the vanishing half too. The plot sounds so strong and I already like her writing
Weird books! Utterly awesome idea! I got a copy of "What belongs to you" after you'd mentioned and compared it to "A little life". Back then, I'd not read "A little life" yet but got a feeling that I'd love it (and I did!). So, I thought I'd be smart and have a book handy :D Planning to read it July.
I'll never stop recommending "All my friends are superheros" by Andrew Kaufman. It's fun, true, odd, and absolutely brilliant!
Once Upon A Time I’ll have to try All My friends are superheroes! And What Belongs to You is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s no A Little Life, but it touches on similar topics that I think are important - can’t wait to see what you think!

it was very interesting - he just came out with a longer novel called “cleanness” last year! It goes deeper into the story/characters I think. I’m going to try to get to it soon!

Weirdest book I've read recently is Made for love by Alissa Nutting is about a woman running away from his husband who wants to merge his brain with hers so they can be together all the time using this new technology he invented and she is going back to live with her dad who has terminal cancer and has a new human doll girlfriend and then she meets this surfer guy who was bitten by a delphin and now just want to have sex with them he can't feel attraction to humans anymore. It was fun.

My weird rec would be Vassa in the Night. I super enjoyed it, but I can't imagine trying to explain it to someone. I mean, most of the book takes place in a grocery store that dances on chicken legs, lol!! I've picked up The Nest in Half Price Books several times, because the cover is SO GORGEOUS. But I wasn't sure if I would like it or not.

If you want a weird read I Recommend Her Fearful Symmetry - Audrey Niffenegger (the author of Time Travelers wife). it follows a set of Twins who move to England following the death of their aunt. its really weird but i loved it. I dont even really know how to describe it honestly
