The whole LAN vs Online argument is fugaze. No pro in history bar "Blazt" (criminally overblown supposed breakdown btw) has gotten inherently worse. Sure they may drop off a little but it's mostly the same. Over the past few years of comp cod, teams that win ONLINE also majority of the time win ON LAN. Its bogus, most people (most) are in facilities with 1k/1k internet, 6 ping etc, tired of some pros making the excuse that online is the reason theyre not doing well. The online to LAN switch will not be as big as proposed.
The only real difference would be if there was a crowd and some of these new players have never played in front of a big crowd so it may take an event or two to get used to it. That being said, the next lan and probably the next few won’t even have fans.
Competing in person on LAN shows who's a competitor or not. It's easy to compete in your own room. It's a whole different animal when you can literally look in the same room to see who you're playing. Fans will make it even crazier
