My first encounter with Sia a couple of years ago was "Breathe me" - that song was played on the very final episode of the TV series "Six feet under" and has stuck with me ever since.

There were survivors in the club, but some of them had to play dead next to their friends/loved ones bodies just to not get killed. This song was in honor for everyone in that club and the LGBT+ community. So yeah, the "club scene" when they fall down it's the moment they get shot, that's why the holes in the door representing the gunshots, but Maddie is one of the survivors. They were 27 survivors, 49 deaths.

It's a song for the survivors...one of the most beautiful tributes she could have done. You are free to be alive. Don't give up. That is her message. One of my fav songs (and videos) ever.
In case no one else mentioned it, the ringing you hear before and after the music is meant to resemble the ringing you hear in your ears after gunfire.
That sound another song too although not as pronounced and unfortunately I can't think of the song right now.. but I noted when I heard it that was the second time for that
@@TROLLBUSTER12 I know the "Chandelier" video starts with a faint kind of electrical buzzing, but the video for "Alive" definitely starts with a low, almost pulsing bell sound. It's pretty close to the sound from "The Greatest" video. It still has that muted quality, like you're hearing it after a very loud noise.
In the final scenes you can see a girl simulating a call with his foot. That may be a representation to the a girl who hid somewhere in the club and messaged his mom to say goodbye because the shooter was inside
The choreography in the end actually describes the panic when the attacker opened fire. People were hiding in the bathrooms at the back but he found them there too. Some injured had to pretend to be dead and others buried themselves under their dead friends to save themselves and avoid being noticed. I cannot imagine the horrors of that night. This song and video gets me overwhelmed everytime I watch it .
Also you're right that felt to me as though it was to show one of those whispered calls made to say goodbye to family that night.

dang i had no idea what this song was about, it definitely makes a lot more sense now, and is definitely very sad, but ty for explaining the story
Not sure how many people have said this, there are 49 dancers to represent the 49 deaths, the layout of the building is similar to the nightclub, the rainbow to show the gay nightclub, Maddie is one of the suviour which had to play dead in order to survive, the smoke that was shown is the smoke bomb the killer used, the white paint is to show blood from victims, the gunshot holes in the walls to show the shooting, running to show the victims who ran, many also hiding.

You asked if only one person lived. He killed 49 and wounded 53. No word on how many survived but it was defiantly more than just one. I was in the Toronto gay village (Church and Wellesley) the night after it happened (I live here), and the entire village stopped. Hundreds gathered by the 519 Community Center just so we could be with each other. This was an attack on the entire global gay community...by another gay man (he was very troubled). I won't ever forget it.

This song was playing when the nightcuub got shot up, Maddie, the main dancer represents the girl that ran to the bathroom to call her mom and pretended to be dead, the girl that ended up doing that in real life survived the event.

Sorry but you are totally wrong. I never was one to listen to much music at all. When I did I listened to rock and rap. In fact the majority of my friends are the same way, and never listened to it either. So to say I'm fake because you think it's impossible for someone to not have heard pop music is what's crazy.
