The fact that Lady Jessica disobeyed the sisterhood and had a son because she loved Duke Leto
I feel bad that he died thinking jessica and his son were dead.
I absolutely loved this father son duo
He knew he was alive that's why the trader took him ring. I had to watch three times lol
And also without knowing Jessica was pregnant.
In the book he dies thinking they’re alive
He knows They're alive.
Did you not read the book? Dr. Yueh promised to ensure Paul and Jessica’s safety if Leto assassinated the Baron. He died at least hoping the two survived.
Leto was barely able to move, stripped naked and at the mercy of his greatest enemy and he still displayed greater dignity than the men around him.
Consider that when Leto broke the tooth, the Baron's men all scrambled to save themselves, even trapping him in there for some hours. Contrast that with Idaho and Kynes both putting themselves at personal risk to save Paul and Jessica. People obey the Baron because they fear him, meanwhile people followed the Duke because they loved him.
Finally... Someone who understands! He was my favorite character, one that shaped me to the person I am today.
This is beautiful. It was amazing how you captured both Leto's dignity and almost naively good heart, and Jessica's struggle. There whole story is so tragic, and I somehow find it the most beautiful love story in the Dune franchise as well. The actors did an amazing job, and you edited it perfectly.
It's so heartbreaking that Leto died not knowing they're alive and that Jessica is pregnant.

I love how Dennis didn't just let leto's death be forgotten.. But the adding the last line :- my father came here not for spice, but for your people.. That's the some real goosebumps stuff
I loved that as well. It stays really true to the books, where Herbert doesn't let him be forgotten either. His name keeps appearing in the later books, thousands of years after the events of Dune, and he is remembered as the epitome of everything good that the Atreides stood for. In the grand scheme of things, he ends up being more beloved than either his son or grandson.
Jessica+Leto are true eternal soulmates!! Their love story is so unique & beautiful & mature! They have a deep emotional connection and intimacy that doesn't necessarily need words or physical touch, just their expressions & body language show us how much they love each other & what do they mean for each other.. uffff!!! One of my most favourite love stories of all time!🌍💕💓

Amazing edit, it made me cry... Leto and Jessica are about the most beautiful love story that I know of, and the movie handled it in such a subtle and minimalistic, yet emotional way. It really stays true to the book where, if I remember correctly, Jessica's first thoughts upon learning of his death are expressed in just two words written in italics: My Leto...
It hurts knowing the second movie there will be no more Duke Leto
Lady Jessica is one of the best characters in the series! Rebecca Ferguson is amazinggggg! Damn, she actually looks amazing. Couple of seconds of video, but already very believable acting. Great Jessica casting.
Jessica sure did wreak havoc on the universe with her willfulness, leading to the 3500 year reign of Leto II, the eventual near destruction of the human race and rebirth of humanity. Ultimately, she is a mother goddess archetype, embodying the destructive nature of something like the goddess Kali and the creative aspect of Gaia. Quite an interesting character.
I love Leto, Jessica and Paul and their famly chemistry so much. Leto never got to see his daughter Alia and Alia never got to see her father and I feel sorry for Leto, Jessica, Paul and even Alia. 😢

When Leto died in the book it was so sad. In the movie they really captured the loss of a great and honourable man!
Duke Leto follows the same line of honorable men of Aragorn in LOTR and Hector in TROY.
The Duke Leto, was a good man. Found this quote from the books. Hurts everytime i read it.

The reverend mother thinks Jessica betrayed them out of hubris. But she did because she loved her Duke, and wanted to give him the son he wanted.
