That pick-off throw to the hammy really slowed Sho down but I'm hopeful he's recovered and be in "Mr. June" form.
He's now 1-6 in June. 5-22 in the last week or so. Some MVP.

Obviously he hasn't been 100% since then and you can't expect him to just flip a switch and suddenly be hitting .400.

All this talk about Ohtani's needing to prove he has already made baseball history, as if you easily forget that for at least 2 years he HIT AND PITCHED and did both pretty dang well. While also fielding and stealing bases.

What’s curious is why Dodgers announcers aren’t speaking in Japanese yet. Angels announcers were pretty cool about that!
In Japan, there is a CZcams channel called Pacific League TV, which creates many interesting videos and best moments from each game, in addition to highlights. I hope MLB will follow suit and help revive the popularity of baseball.

Yes. However, Ohtani has to recover from contusion injury caused by Reds pitcher's pick-off throw at his hamstring since May 17. His hamstring injury has been affected his batting form, hitting avg, and running ability. Although his running/stealing is largely coming back but his batting is still not do much back to level before his injury😢. Hopefully Ohtani doesn't take much longer for fully recovery and eventually be able to heat up like last June. Theen Ohtani would very likely to be a confirmed MVP candidate like he led almost all hitting categories and OPS in whole MLB before the hamstring injury.
Bullsh*t. He sits in a dugout & only swings a bat. He's injury prone constantly. But a hammy doesn't effect your swing THIS long.

Im a “new to baseball” fan after my son started playing little league. We’ve been watching the Dodgers and we really like Ohtani. But because I’m a newer fan, I’m not used to the ebbs and flows. Is it not very concerning to most that he has been in quite the slump the last few weeks it seems like?
You are very astute, sir. He's been in a slump for awhile. Right now, he's like 5-22. The media won't cover it or report it. Only when he hits big in one game. THEN they think he's Babe Ruth.
@tonyhepner-nk1wx he's done what no player has done since Babe Ruth 3 years in a row and would be a unanimous 3 peat for MVP if it wasn't for Judge having a historic season last year. That's why they think he's Babe Ruth and most agree he's better considering the competition in today's game. Now as for this year, he's definitely in a slump but all players go through this. He'll still end the year with 40 hr, 40 sb, 100 rbis and be the best DH in baseball. He'll also return to pitching next year. Why be a hater? His greatness is undeniable
ohtani is crazy, but i think it's hard to call him the MVP frontrunner this year when he can't take the field (no player in history has ever won the MVP as a DH), especially when there are other players whose offensive contributions are only a little less effective than his.

Correct. Babe Ruth NEVER sustained constant wussy issues like this guy in his first 6-7 yrs. He doesn't play a position. He has never been even a 17 game winner. Ruth? First six yrs he was a 20 game winner...twice. Plus a 3-time champion. His seventh yr, he hit 54 HRs. Ohtani is in his seventh yr now.
