Oh my gosh. I just bought (and am wearing today) Fathom V. I could only find a few reviews online and most are negative. Meanwhile I freaking love this thing and just found your wonderful review which is helping me better understand it’s name. I don’t get any watery aspects but instead get all the green green things, a little earth, lilies + black current, so I feel like I am being immersed by a spring garden but I know my mom would reply “funeral.” This is an artwork for sure and I’m so grateful someone made me smell before seeing the name or bottle, which would have mislead me!

Thanks for the review. I just picked up the Beaufort discovery set after hearing descriptions of several of them. The Coeur de Noir sounds especially up my alley. And it's funny that you mentioned Naomi Goodsir in your reply to another comment - they were my gateway into fragrances!

I have most of the samples and my wife bought the FB of Fathom V, an incredible green fragrance.
I find Terror & Magnificence superb- I want a FB now.

Great video! I love this series. It really got my brain firing. I think in the right order they create an overall narrative. And it uses the British Empire as an allegory for the story of a guy driven insane with wealth and power.
I might be wrong about that. Either way, I think Come Hell or High Water is the most ambitious series of fragrances around.

I own vi et armis and love it ,it reminds me of the smell in the air after the army have been doing their weapons testing near our town.

I love layering Fathom V with Nishane’s Tuberóza. It’s awesome.
Vi Et Armis makes me hungry. It has a hint of a meat scent but it’s not actually meaty. I think it’s the birch tar creating that scent. It just reminds me of what I would smell from a grill heating up on a cold day. Smoke and charcoal. Maybe come burning leaves. At least that’s what I relate it too. I love it.
I am watching of course ♥️ i loved hearing more about this brand. You were so thorough too. I have tried iron Duke and lignum Vitae. Might I say, your hair is gorgous !!!

I tried these Sam, only Lignum Vitae grabbed me, but they are all quite unique.
They are very unique indeed. Which ones you gravitate towards tell you a bit about your own personality; kind of like a Rorschach test. Lignum Vitae I enjoyed experiencing, but I would never wear. Thank so much for watching. 🌹Xo Sam

I own 3 and just sampled Vi et Armis. Hence found your review searching on those words. I own Noir, Duke and the new one Terror which I picked having smelt Fathom V and Armis in Blooms in London. I think nose fatigue slightly threw my judgment. Terror is old books in an old dusty library. Armis is similar to Noir but I may well get that one as well as these are all captivating to my nose. Fathom (only smelt from the cap) smelt of weeds/squashed green leaves but again I sense I will want to own it. Tonnere is unwearable. Likes your take on these. They deserve wider audience but inevitably will be only for the few.
Oh hurray, another Londoner! I haven't thoroughly tested Terror yet, but it sounds like something I might like. These are certainly not for everyone, but I was seriously surprised (in a good way!) when I was introduced to the house. They are remarkable in each their way. Thanks so much for watching.🌹Xo Sam

Awesome! To be honest, Beaufort has their very own style... but others that are down a similar path would be Naomi Goodsir and the dark fragrances from Zoologist, Trvdon, Etat Libre d'Orange and Serge Lutens. 🌹Xo Sam
