Nothing beats the Khaki Field Automatic for me, it looks great in any situation, has a super accurate movement, is built like a tank, it's super compact, and it's WAY cheaper.

I have a hard time between the two honestly. I own and love them both equally, my favorite between them can change any given day. The quality for the money is easily evident in both watches. The slightly more stylish Oris (IMO) does have a better all around movement, but that does come with a higher price tag. There is also the fact that Oris is one of the few Swiss brands to still operate independently and prices are going to be a bit higher based on that alone, but in turn that type of brand integrity alone is to many well worth paying more for the product, and we are talking more in the hundreds here not the thousands or ten thousands so take that as you may. There are those who aren't going to believe it's worth paying the higher price based on this and that's completely understandable. Either way for between 500-1000 you're not going to beat either one as an everyday and honestly IMO I don't think you can beat either one as an everyday at any price level. You won't go wrong with either so long as it's the watch that makes you happy. That's what it's all about anyway.

As for me and my lifestyle, I will stick with the SKX or my Luminox series 200 for everyday rural life.

I have a question. What is the criteria to be classified a "Pilots" watch these days? I have a Navitimer and that Oris doesn't compare to a Navitimer as a pilot's watch in my opinion. It looks like just another field watch to me.

I respect your opinion, but would suggest an alternative. Mido makes 2 watches that would be serious contenders, the Multifort and the Great Wall. Both come in strap and bracelet versions, offer day and date complications, and 100m WR with a screw-down crown. The Great Wall is a COSC chronometer graded ETA movement, while the Multifort offers a chronometer version. Both are 42mm - the Multifort also being available in a 38 or 39 IIRC - so slightly larger without being crazy, and they list for under a grand.

A friend has this watch. Its accuracy is phenomenal, maybe he got lucky, but it does not lose a single second in a whole month when compared to an atomic clock. He has the cordura strap but I also tried on the steel bracelet and prefer that, its light and really comfortable on the wrist. I agree that this watch is perhaps the best daily beater out there, value hard to beat. I don't like the notched bezel too much, somehow it looks a bit crude and does't align well with the lugs but thats personal taste. The dial is ultra legible, and well thought out too.. the important information is white and sticks out (hours and minutes) and the secondary information is more discrete so as not to clutter and distract (seconds).

The Oris Propilot is a very beautiful watch. Extremely elegant in its simplicity, masculinity and lack of clutter. I agree with many of the points of the other fans though, in that a Timex weekender, gets the job done for functionality; a Hamilton Khaki Field or a Khaki King, have some similar attributes, at around half the price, and my Seiko Alpinist is both rugged and slightly flashy but admittedly has a different aesthetic and is more of a niche taste in some ways. I'm glad you showed us this one though because it is a very cool watch, and is now on my eventual list, ( rather than my short term shopping list).
I also confess that I have a degree in Linguistics and teach English. At first I thought aspects of your accent were a bit extreme, then I got used to them, and now...I kinda like it. I guess stage four is to actually start pronouncing things like you do, which as an Australian teaching mostly East Asians and Europeans, may just confuse the hell out of them. Keep up the great work ! Don't be too upset by people letting off steam, as I am sure that a lot of us get a lot of enjoyment from your cool videos, and relentless positive energy.

Jory, what are your thoughts on the SARB033 / 035?!

I have just ordered a leather strap from Fin Watch Straps to replace the olive nylon strap on my ProPilot. I gave it a couple of months but have found the Oris strap to be incredibly uncomfortable and the watch just doesn't sit right on my wrist (7 1/4 inches).

Hamilton khaki king Champagne dial great for many different applications. Also for the price I think the Hamilton khaki pilot would be my choice. ETA awesome dial amazing Lume and the leather strap from Hamilton are superb.

Hey man love your channel! Just bought the sarb017 last night. New to actually collecting watches (my wife usually bought them for me as I don't normally spend that much on myself). I'm looking for a good rubber/water friendly strap for when I vacation or am active. But at the same time I love the look of that mesh band that you had on in this video where could I find something like that and equality two tone Jubilee I've been looking for the last two weeks and could not find.

i use my GMT Master II for a every day watch, (i'm a mechanic) why spend so much money and not wear it?? the only thing i really don't like of the Rolex is that there "special 904L Stainless steel" its way way softer than many metals used on watches.

Timber land true about the Rolex metal. But let me tell you my friend, Rolex metal can be polished up about ten times before you can see the lost of metal. I have the GMT and Sub Date. And several other pieces in between. But my Rolex’s are tanks and perfect for edc wear. Anyplace, anytime. Pun intended lol!

I fully believe you, but that is the strange part. my Omega speedmaster never had it this extreme. yes it also has there scratches and stuff, but the GMT actually has deep cuffs (if that is the correct word) luckely i bought it to use it, so i'm gonna survive that as well. and in worst case senario... swapping the case is also possible ;). I was just very very dissapointed due to the whole marketing about the material.

Timber land absolutely correct in the worst case scenario would be a case swap. The 904L is probably one of the greatest marketing hype’s ever. Coupled with names like Rolesor lol. Their special blend of precious metals. Geeez these guys are good lol.

Yeah, I've ordered this cordura strap couple days ago and I'm just waiting for the delivery. It should look great with the Alpinist :)

Can’t have a brown strap everyday imo. Leather itself can’t be versatile imo cuz ur only limited to brown or black belts at times. A watch like omega seamaster Rolex submariner are everyday imo if u can afford them.

Love the watch, but personally it bothers me that the date window replaces the 3 numeral. Now, there aren't any watches that I know of that have a decent compromise between having a full circle of numbers and still including a date window. I wish it was somehow possible to move that date window further inside the number ring, thus getting a complete circle of numerals and a date window. Alas, it's not mechanically possible, without having compromise :/

Thank you! This looks like a fantastic watch, but I cannot accept the fact that any watch that is not atomic or GPS will always be not exactly accurate. Could you please do an episode about the perfect all around watch with GPS or atomic time? Thank you in advance!
