Unfortunately the price for high quality design and materials is not linear. I agree that it’s definitely something that if you need it for a very specific use case, it’s incredible.

Love that idea! When I saw the TX-6 price I decided to instead buy two small passive 4 channel mixers into each input of my circuit tracks and then I ran that output into my OP-1.. I think it’ll work pretty well!

Thank you for another great video. I am deciding if to buy the circuit tracks or the rhythm. Do you know if I'd be able to sequence other synths with rhythm like you showed in this video or is it possible just with tracks? Thanks!
I 100% agree. I LOVE their designs and functions, just can't justify the price. I love the accessibility/price of the PO's but the rest of their lineup will most assuredly remain a dream. (Maybe if I win a lotto I never play?) I am looking for suggestions on recording on-the-go, that Portacapture looks like a great option. Does anyone have any suggestions of something similar but maybe more of an entry-friendly price range? (Or is the Tascam worth skipping other cheaper options and just save up for it instead?)

has nothing to do with "joining the crowd". if a person wants a piece of gear, literally no justification is necessary. might still buy this if I feel like it.
however, if for some the gear is out of their budget, there are usually alternatives.
I use circuit tracks with my Synth keyboard combo setup as same way that you do in video, is a nice gear to sequence with synth
OR use keyboard midi out to midi in play onboard circuit tracks sound like pad, to make it more sound combination with my keyboard.
I mean the bluebox does exist... It comes with a port for midi-capabilities, can record, is small, has a slot for SD-Cards and EQ.Only the effects are crap, but you can use the outputs as sends... Don't know what the TE mixer can do better (especially live) except function as an audio interface. Even has midi. But maybe I am missing something
The bluebox is a pain in the ass to use and it’s more of a multi-track recorder then a mixer. The tx6 functions like a true mixer and I would argue works better then most conventional mixers.

Great video and these are great options. The only thing these options can’t necessarily do is tie in with the OP-1 specifically…Teenage Engineering is building a ecosystem with the “Field” marketing. I imagine the TX-6 will really open up functionality when it’s paired with the new op1. I guess we will see.
what functionality does the TX-6 have when paired with the OP-1? what is the difference between pairing the OP-1 with any other mixer?
I bought the TX-6 and it's amazing! I have in in a mobile backpack setup with polyend play, tracker, dreadbox nymphes and fred's lab buzzzy.

I think the TX inputs are stereo which 2xs the actual count compared to these options, but I still totally agree that folks don't need the TX
…I don’t consider stereo inputs to be doubling the input count 🤷♂️.
also my point is not what people need, my point is there are alternatives if one can’t afford. We can’t prescribe peoples needs for them.

I hesitate to call the mixer a great design if the knobs and faders are so small that they are basically unusable

If it had automated faders, nobody would bat an eyelid...but as it is, eyes will roll. 🙄

The only issue i have with the TX-6 doesnt have a sd card or storage.
Its a High End Micro Mixer,it does the same or even more then most of the big mixers on the same price range!We gotta to have in mind the size of it and craftsmanship to put all those components in such a tinny space!One you can put on your tinny pocket of your trousers pocket,the other one is a brick bigger than a phone!Its all about having all the Pro features on a very tinny device without sacrificing the portability of it and still having an intuitive overlay design.
The tx6 is a very slick utility and it helps me get allot of miles out of the gear I already have. I now have a box of gear that is going to the pawnshop. This device not only streamline workflow it frees up allot of space in my backpack and desk.
TC Blender does a bunch of all of that.

It’s TE’s decision on pricing for their products.
What it’s “worth” is relative to each individual.
It’s likely not your fault if you’re “poor” but more likely a factor of systemic oppression in late stage capitalism. Be mad at the right person. (Low paying employers, legislators, etc)

The prices are absolutely not an excuse for not producing stuff.
Novation Circuit Tracks hums and makes terrible noises as soon as I plug external audio in device powered from mains (5V adapter). Battery powered devices are fine. So not recommended as a mixer, unless you can solve the hum and buzz 50-60 Hz signals
Wow i thought so nice of them to include an op1 with the tx6. Nice price. Wow i thought, that new op1 field must come with that sexy tx6 bundeled. Nah its stereo now. Double sound double price. Makes sense right? Still under 2000 stop complaining. Went to superbooth berlin on saturday. wanted to know about their price philosophy. And if the field can take some rain and dust. Ip class? They busted. Everybody seemed mad at them, maybe they couldńt take the bashing anymore. Maybe setup a flagshipstore next to apple.

"Need" is the thing. Most of the complaining appears to be based around a feeling of needing to have this, and the price being an issue. No one 'needs' anything by TE, and there are plenty of other options available, and with that in mind, the price TE stuff suddenly becomes a complete non issue. Ultimately, the complaining seems to be from people who are going to buy TE regardless of the price, and there is a real simple solution to that. Strange that such a creative scene is way less than creative in its approach to using kit.
I agree. People (especially music tech enthusiasts who live in forums) also like to join a mob. they may not need or want it but will take every chance they get to let their anger our online. Helps them feel superior.
@@Taetro One of my 2022 goals is to stop following channels that are largely music tech shill channels, surrounded by vast amounts of tech, claiming its not sponsored but they got x free. Its completely disingenuous and completely out of control considering the planet is on its arse and so many of these channels live or die on a constant influx of new kit. CONSUME! :)
