As someone who plays BLM in Savage, playing as a fake melee is so much better in half of the fights because most strats are based on having the melees move just a bit
Superchain theory 1 👀 I loved faking melee doing practice runs in pf, then go back in the static as a regular ranged x_x
Pro tip: if a mechanic requires a BLM and a tank to pair, bring in a Paladin, it makes your life way easier

As a sprout who snuck into a c41 PF with a friend (making it a c43) and got my first clear with a bunch of helpers, thank you to everyone who does this in PF!
Also, I already wanted all the weapons, but now I might complete UWU on all jobs as well. You're a real inspiration Rin!

The best part of playing blm is that there's nowhere to go but up from lvl 50, so it just keeps getting more fun
BLM at lv100 will become the unstoppable and all knowing...
I've also been on a project like this recently, and there is a weird pattern i've noticed. If you do join farm parties, they dont clear, because like 3 people are trying to flex and just stand in shit trying to look cool. Whenever I join a c41 party, everyone has the same "get this guy out" mentality and its awesome.
That's been my experience too lol. People in totem farm parties are still inexperienced because they only recently cleared for the first time, but they got their clear and now all their focus is gone because there's less pressure lol
C41 parties are the best. And sooo fucking wholesome one the clear finally happens. It’s wonderful. Shoutout to the UWU community on primal!
I join c41s for 2 reasons - 1) I get to help someone else get their clear - we've all been in their shoes and I remember how appreciative I was when someone experienced would help out, and 2) I can hide my own mistakes amongst the chaos xD

The fact all the kill screenshot are /showleft and/showright focused on op is a scream that they were paid for helpers for C41s. I know because this is what my sell group does (it makes buyers feel more special and makes them more likely to buy totems/other ultis), and nobody other than already-cleared ppl want their first killshots to be them playing an accessory to a main character.

Wow. it took me like 17 hours of progging to do UwU. however uni has gotten in the way of continuing for now. I am looking to do at least UcoB and maybe even DSR before Dawntrail but probably just DSR. Honestly ultimates are so fun, just that its annoying I have to go collect seperate gear for it
one day we will get a 3 hour running around the house stream. that's peak content.

Aw man, I MT'd UWU as my first ultimate and big agree, it's genuinely fun! Miss moving the boss around, and having tactical swaps. Even got my clear in PF, thanks to some great PF ult warriors like those you ran into. Good luck in the rest of your huge undertaking!
The aimless running around an area really speaks to me. I have run around the railings of the Gold Saucer and Quarrymill and anywhere else that has a complete circuit, for a worrying amount time.
I am so glad I am not the only one who runs around my house/fc house for no reason lol 😂

I did something similar right after I cleared UWU for the first time.
bc many groups needed a healer I joined parties and helped them out, get their first clear. most of the time it was just clear for 2-4 ppl but at the end I managed to get all UWU weapons and some extra totems :) ofc PF isnt perfect, sometimes toxic but if its about UWU ppl are actually pretty chill (here on Phoenix). Same thing with TEA. I joined a couple of clear parties and we managed to clear it within an hour (most of the time)
As a person who will (probably) never do Ultimates - I get shakey doing Savages and never tried any before EW at level (I did P1S I guess around 6 clears, P2S 2 or 3, and P5S 2...), but I love seeing other people do it. It's so nice of you to help people get their clears. I'm glad there are nice people like you in this world.
ultimate pf has been the best thing to do during this period of the expansion cycle for me, I recently cleared uwu and it was so fun that I'm trying tea now! Im really thankful for everyone helping people get their clears
I love this! Can't wait to see the rest of this journey. Does the community have any advice for a total Ultimate noob wanting to clear at least one Ult before Dawntrail? What class/role is best for a total beginner? Any good guides out there for someone essentially starting from zero knowledge?
If you want to do UWU - melee DPS has the least responsibility on the whole, but all of the roles are fairly friendly and welcoming. When it comes to guides, it mainly depends which region you're from as they generally do slightly different strats to one another, but there are hubs of information for each region!
Oof, good luck on this! I just don't have the time to dedicate to Ultimates these days, and I doubt I'll be able to really figure these out on my own lol. Managed to unlock UCoB and UWU merely as a byproduct of mount farming the Omega Savages with some FC mates several months ago, but I haven't seen them in forever.

The good news for you is that UWU is the hardest fight for BLM - and any job in ult, really - until you get to TOP BLM. Fake melee is more optional in UCoB/TEA/DSR (compared to UWU's almost mandatory), although it's still nice sometimes.
There actually are some fun things you can do on 70 BLM that make it not that bad, but it's uh, cursed knowledge. "Manafont in ice" cursed.
What time of day, what DC, and how many pulls/fails per job?
On Aether in CF1 parties, it is almost always memes for 3 pulls and disband during prime time.

I've also used my free time to help others clear too, I think i've helped sth around 27 ppl on their first ult clears since december ^^
The point about playing blm in the melee spot I feel as a red mage main, when I did uwu my group put me as fake melee and for a few days where we got a melee sub and I had to fill the ranged slot doing stuff like the baits in ifrit I felt so stunlocked as red mage really struggles with long far away stretches of continued movement. I want to do stuff like this for people in the 2 ults I've cleared (uwu and tea) but I need to get around to learning the holes in mechanics tied to those roles or if my static did things weird such as I'm not sure which bjcc strat is considered standard.
My favourite thing about UWU in Red Mage is when you have to do the Eruption baits during the second half of Ifrit and melee combo comes up, so you ping pong across the arena and rotate the eruptions around him in a circle; very satisfying! And, honestly: I feel you. When I'm learning new roles in a fight i've cleared before I usually join mid phase prog parties if I don't feel confident, until I think I'm ready to help clear parties. it helps work out the kinks!

I've been wanting to get my UWU prog started but I've been afraid of popping into PF because I've heard mostly horror stories from people who run PF regularly in NA. Its kind of pushed me away from trying to prog it and attempt to get my first Ultimate clear ever, but its my only option as I work overnights and don't generally have time to join a second static, the first static being for savage (we progging p12 p1 right now).

I want to clear this ultimate and dont have a static. So this video gave me courage to try and do party finders. Should I watch some video's about the raid mechanics before hand or will people have the patience to teach me? If not both, just wanted some thoughts from what others think.

When you get Black Mage to 70, it feels good. Wow, I can move sometimes! And I have an extra big damage button, great! Then you get a million QoL changes after that and going back to not having them is miserable
Exactly, I remember Lv60 BLM in Heavensward feeling fantastic with their 4x F4 rotation and 0 movement almost ever, but going back to that today, having experienced all of the QoL changes since sounds absolutely awful

if anything it makes things like moving the boss on MT a lot easier due to the movement being freer which i think doesn’t get talked about enough, the controller hate has died down over the years though so it’s nowhere near as prevalent, just people who wanna gatekeep achievements who don’t matter in the first place
14:55 MT in UWU is great, i was progging UWU as GNB MT really often (pulling Garuda in the start in No Mercy is pure love) but OT feels kinda boring tbh

Hey Rinon, I might be tripping here but when you said that ninja uses TCJ to set up your even minute tricks I just locked up because, at least to my knowledge, TCJ basically never changes in usage. Shadowbringers gives you meisui, sure, but other than that using it for trick instead of in trick is just a strict dps loss in all levels from what I remember. Outside of wonky fight timing doing this is strictly a loss of 1,848 potency at minimum, with no buffs from any other players at all.

A video idea for you as you're very experienced in this type of stuff is that you could possibly teach from ground 0 a premade group of your youtube followers to a clear.
I've done it a few times in the past (not for making videos / streams though, just for fun), but that sounds like a lot of fun!

I've been doing a somewhat similar thing, helping out friends do their first ultimate clears and joining random savage parties who need fills. Very tempted to do this as well though, I love learning the strats from every point of view :3

Man, ultimate's look so fun but trying to get a clear as a first timer, that has not tried any even once, just sounds hard to me. I'd be ecstatic to clear one sometime. Though I'm not even sure if I'm pressing my buttons in the correct order all the time.
If you ever end up progging one and need help getting over the hurdle, you're always welcome to ask! I think they are a lot more accessible than the initial impression they give, especially the older ones
@@RinBanana hah guess now I have to since you offer help xD I am from EU but play on NA Crystal Zalera so time has been one to also slightly deter me from trying to look into starting an ultimate try. That is because most I've seen and heard about progressing in ultimate clears take time and having a schedule to follow. Even currently, when I want to join my FC for map days, fate parties or mount farms, I have to be awake around 2am-4am for them. 😭xD
I can't fathom doing ultimates in PF, this game gave me trust issues. People who go in PF for highend content are madmen, man !
Maybe in DT I'll find a static and also clear ultimates on all jobs which have a skin for that ultimate (one of my ~whenever-it-happens / if-it-ever-happens~ goal) just for the sake of "earning" the skin.
i want to do ultimates but im kinda scared of doing them since my only route is PF, most myy friends are not geared for them and PF hasnt been ALL that great to me. Ive had some pretty toxic encounters in them and i dislike hearing "join a LFG discord" lol.
ucob uwu and tea need absolutely no gearing
you would preferably want some stuff with good substats but as long as your friends are level 90 and have 90 gear they can join no problem. but even then you can totally get an ulti clear on PF on your own, just know that it will be hard and take lots of effort throwing yourself at PFs hoping for the good people. Fresh parties are always great as they usually have people really excited to be there and even some veterans helping out, but it will go downhill from there as you start to join parties at your prog point and getting people that are insanely inconsitent and some that are very much lying about their prog point. The most important things to have when progging troght PF is perseverance, reminding yourself that there might be bad days (weeks even) where you cannot seem to be even able to see your prog point, but don't lose hope, as long as you don't give up you will be able to reach the goal.

Seeing these kinds of videos makes me sad deep in my tummy because I know I’ll never get this stuff as much as I want it. Wanted UwU for years, I’ve done current tier savages synced, but for some reason the step to just trying it evades me

If you can do current tier Savages, you are absolutely able to do UWU! I know it's a leap and very imposing to jump right into PF, but if you can even find one or two friends to delve into it with you it takes the edge off a lot. There's also a lot of communities that are happy to help folk that have studied prog, and clear Ultimates. Even in my Discord there's a lot of people (myself included) that often jump into prog or clear attempt parties by community members - you just gotta find the scenario you feel best about and take the plunge!

Ff14 is terrible for new players. Quests don't teach you how to do things, they simply unlock them without teaching anything. A quest to get 4 animal skins unlocks a guild, how do I do anything with crafting and the guild? Who knows. 37 hours to unlock samurai, 37 hours of speedrunning the msq on a character I didn't enjoy. My friend starting playing on Friday and just bought the level boost because he has a job that means he can't spend 37 hours levelling just to play with us. Probably the worst mmo introduction I have ever played. Here's hoping it Improves
It’s not terrible to new players, I’d say it’s on par with nearly every other MMO out there. The key difference is in actually using your brain. Have you tried to maybe read what each ability does or did you just assume the game would hold your hand? Crafting like any other job comes down to reading what the ability does. Also it sounds more like you don’t care about your friend. If you did you would had waited for him to level up. Ff14 isn’t like wow where the end game is all that matters. Y’all should had picked up new jobs and just leveled along side him. One character can do it all.
