Years ago when uThandiswa was working on ibokhwe I had the privilege of hearing the album before it was played on radio and I think the song "Ingoma" was also there! Ndikhumbula ndisithi le ingoma is going to be a hit... And it was and still is the song that I love as if Ndiya qala ukuyiva. It Has That Thing... It is not an ordinary love song... It's deeper than meets the ear! I always sing it to my kids... Ingoma the song is a deep spiritual love song...

Thandiswa's aesthetic has inspired a generation. I always go and say that she's the closest thing to Lauryn Hill we got, not saying she's another version but her being herself makes her so influencial like the likes of Lauryn. I learn a lot from Thandiswa, I too lost a mother at an early age I think I was 10 as a middle child but I think her death brought out the maturity in me. It's kinda hard for kids to lose their mother early cause that shuts down their world , it's like life is starting all over and we like lost souls. Before her passing she gave birth 2 months prior her death, she named our Lil bro Mduduzi I'm only realising now that she knew that she was leaving us with someone whose gonna comfort us. Great episode

And I'm 30 now. Shows the power that mothers have over our lives. I hope uMduduzi uzoqhubeka abe yilenduduzo athunyelwe ukuba abe yiyona. Parents usually know.

I saw Stoan first and immediately asked where's Thandiswa (As if she was the only other member of the group) He told me where to find them and when I got there, Thandiswa smiled at me (with that gorgeous smile of hers) and told me I'm beautiful 🤩. Ntsiki mentioned something very true, Thandiswa after Miriam Makeba made being natural and traditional very cool in an age where being American was popular.

This was an interview I never knew I needed. Thandiswa is such a powerhouse and I enjoyed the angle of this interview.
Ntsiki you're a great interviewer because eventhough you know a lot about Thandiswa and are cognisant of the topics/questions that you could have raised to stir controversy/views, you chose to engage with her from a perspective that allowed us to learn something totally different about her and I appreciate the fact that you believed in us as your audience on being able to learn more about Thandiswa without including the other personal stuff.
    This was so refreshing.

Thokozane👏👏…When the notification for this here podcast came in I put of listening until a few later…now I know why. KING THA I feel the energy you bring wethu, a telephathy of sorts (for lack of a better term)…Enkosi for gracing us with your presence here…like you have shared your talents with us all this years. I wonder who is hiding behind that face and hope to one day be honored with getting to meet and know them. You have touched me so deeply with Ibhokwe at a time when a lot was being revealed to me and this after listening to a lot of your music …Ibhokwe really carried the spark that ignited them flames and opened the portal…When it was launched I got it the first thing it landed on the shelves …my mkhaya Marcus set it aside for me at his store. Some of my friends who listened to the album in my car are today in the African Sacred Science space as healers … Guess them choruses with Thongo Lam’ got them a response😂😂, and I was nicknamed “Abenguni” behind my back cos apparently ev’ry time it played my name would come up…The track got stuck in the archives of their memory(s) after listening to it on repeat on the way home from clubs in P’tori to Sosha and they in turn introduced it to their friends…When “Roots of Love” was set on me it echoed Nizalwa Ngobani….for our spiritual languages are being replaced by commercial tongues…lest we forget. Enkosi KingTha… You hoed and tilled the soil and the seed was planted. May your light continue to shine ..Camagu
