Interesting. Those appear to be same light strips we use for under cabinet lights. Are these UL rated for wet areas? You’re relatively safe if it’s on GFI circuit but my biggest concern would be corrosion of led strip circuit board unless you’ve sealed the housing.
Yeah I have issues with those lights when used under cabinets but I’m sable to access and fix if needed , how do you service this in future if any issues arise ? Looks great though
Looks Like KLUS, SILER Extrusion, Ref: B9325ANODA. Just did an exterior project in Minnesnowda (Extreme Conditions!) using 5m White LED Strip Light - HighLight Series Tape Light - 12/24V - IP67 Waterproof Warm White 2700K - 196.9in (16.40ft). Try Dow Corning 3145 RTV MIL-A-46146 ADHESIVE/SEALANT-CLEAR (worked for me on raw cedar) to adhere channel to backer & leave a little extra wire slack, use a non-hardening waterproof seal in the channel & solder Single Color Cable to Cable Connector - 0.5m - Female/Male Connector - STW Series Compatible - Waterproof to each end & easily change. If you can get to the backside even easier. Easy fix when the LED strip fails !
the only thing behind tile/wall is wires, just like a regular light/receptacle. The strip in the niche is very easy to replace, and the LED driver should be installed in an accessible junction box.
@@johnnyboy3268 Ya know on second thought.. Since when did the germans start making cob's ??? I just watched 4 30,000hr led's in my kitchen all crap out within a couple of weeks of each other and I installed them 18months ago. On the flip side, I have a desk light led that has been running straight for 9years, it never gets shut off. I would never install a light in a tile wall unless I could completely service it. I'd bet money that "german" company sources its stuff from china. This is a fad and its time will fade.
@@jagboy69 Schluter is actually a very high quality top of the line name in the tiling industry. I know your comment is old, but just for your information. Very much so German. Germans are pioneers in tile work.

I love the o tile grate. Good way to leave your mark on a beautiful install
That thing is tight man. Nice job!!!
I like to leave a full.te on top.and bottom of the niche too . Looks really clean way batter than L cuts
I just did one it was awsome

Can you replace the LED lights after they fail?
Yes

Two words. You’re F’ed
If the light fails would it be hard to replace?

Did you have to trim , it looked tight before the tile was added
All looks amazing right up until you see the tiles at the front which look chipped. 😳
Where can we find all this at?
Where did u find that big opening niche
45 the profiles always
How does the glass work with the bench going all the way to the edge?
They will install a stationed glass panel
What do you do when the light eventually fails? Which it will.
Can't fail, it's powered by uranium.

The niche is nice but at the end those grout lines don't look good.
Where did you get the niche. I went to schluter site and cannot find one like this
It’s the 12x28 niche. The center shelf is removable. Rotate it on its side and you have a wide niche.
Looks like tiles are chipped
Yea im not sure what that was. Usually his work is really nice
Nevermind, went back and watched again, its the style of the tile
Yea that tile does not look good. Dunno what the homeowners were thinking
Что за жесть с затиркой?
Personally, I think you should have used your finger to push down the light switch instead of your THUMB pffff, but I'm no expert
My only reservation with these is serviceability. These chinese gizmos aren't exactly known for quality.
It’s a German product
@@johnnyboy3268 Should be more reliable... MAYBE.
