- A neglected garden gets some much-needed love! Today we have a property clean-up featuring trimming, blackberry mulching, brush clearing, and pressure washing. From what I know, the concrete stairs have never been washed and the area wasn't maintained for years. As a result, it was slowly being taken over by invasive vegetation and moss.
Thankfully we were able to complete this project and the homeowner was in dismay once she saw her childhood garden like it was decades ago. It was truly a heartwarming moment and we were really grateful we could help her complete this project and bring the beauty of the property back.

Nicely done David. If you go back to this customer and you want to make her cry a little bit more, take the weed eater on the other side of the creek and clean up the far bank. This is what I had done and it really turned out really nice. It opened up a large area where my wife picked a lot of black berries. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Mark! The other side of the creek is owned by someone else. In fact they actually only own a small stretch of that area. But it would have been great to clean it up to make the creek more visible.

It is a very lovely area. I will be keeping an eye on it.
That could be such a special natural riparian area with some invasive plant removal and planting of native plantings. Water quality would be enhanced on the stream and it would be a nice place to sit and enjoy the beauty.
I really love that idea! I am a big fan of riparian projects and would definitely like to have more experience with them.

I feel sorry for the owners distress to find the area in deterioration. Thanks for cleaning up and making it safe and usable again. The Before and After pictures show how much more open, welcoming and pleasant it now is.

Upper steps could have needed a small drainage ditch to prevent mud flowing onto them from uphill.
That’s true, I didn’t expect them to constantly wash back, I should have dug a little channel with the shovel to help the water move along.
That’s exactly what I did with mine and it’s worked wonderfully👍
On that first step a little side piece of stone can be seen keeping dirt off steps. Might have had that all the way at one time.👍

Small PVC cut into 4" pieces works with chicken wire on ends!

** I found that my hand wasn’t able to hold the trigger for very long so I tied a hex bolt to the handle and wedged it so the trigger stayed on. Just pulled the tie to release it.

Yes, the steps need to stand free from the soil on both sides. Must be an issue every time it rains a bit heavy? I love watching deep cleaning by pressure washing, but this guy didn't stand a chance against that dirt. He sure tried.👍 Looked really good in the end.

It was sped up, but to do an actual Timelapse wouldn’t have worked as I only have 1 camera.

When you can not manage a large yard like this, you should get
a smaller House, with a smaller yard. It is not safe, with all that Moss.
I agree. But back when they first built this property it was completely different. There was no ivy or blackberries, the moss would have been minimal since the cedar trees weren’t as large and didn’t block off as much sunlight.
It’s interesting that every object has a large affect on an area.
I hope she paid you, and paid you well. The deadbeats on these landscaping channels are annoying.
