I rarely comment on videos but just wanted to say that as a black girl adopted by white parents you two queens basically taught me to be black and did so much for my self confidence … thank you ☺️

So im an EMT and I often take people from the emergency room to a mental hospital. One time I was taking report from this nurse and she said what Jackie was talking about. "You have everything going for you, why do you want to kill yourself" It took all my self-control not to yell at her. It also showed me a big gap in the mental health system because before you can even see someone qualified you have to see some ER nurse with very little understanding of mental illness who gets to determine where you go to be treated.
It’s literally a disease, and yet we don’t ask rich people “you have everything going for you, why do you have cancer/diabetes/fill in the gap with other disease.” Nurses are put on a pedastal but I realized a long time ago they are ordinary ppl that suffer from stupidity or ignorance sometimes too lol

i just took a class for my psych major called black mental health about the differences between how people in the african diaspora approach mental health but my professor mentioned how many black women deny help for mental health way more than their white peers bc of the pressure from society to be strong and sometimes from the family because culturally mental health but also depression specifically is sometimes seen as a “white” thing but i think it is even stronger that you both have worked hard to understand ur minds and get help💕💕
Yes, it’s also the representation in the mental health community that attributes into many people in the African diaspora to sadly not seek help. Black people have an insane amount of emotional intelligence and empathy. We are dealing with mental strain on a daily basis. Racism, discrimination, oppression, and the list goes on. Imagine explaining your trauma to a therapist that can’t even fathom what it’s like to experience oppression on a daily basis. Many non black therapists don’t know where to begin which causes a drift and there isn’t enough representation. Which leads to black people having to train the therapist in sessions rather than getting therapy. Black therapists are on the rise but still few. It’s a sad system.

Crazy how I’m an aspiring beauty creator and nyma and Jackie’s life is SO SIMILAR TO MINE. I worked in the strip club( I was a dancer), bartended a bit, dropped out of school, worked in the food hospitality industry( currently a hostess again), worked retail for a few months twice( once at home goods for a month and recently at beauty brow kiosk for 3 months).
My family was so dramatic bout me dancing but ya girl had to eat. Now I’m a certified MUA , will be attending school to become licensed master esthetician and master cosmetologist.
the medical field is hard because you have to be able to shut it off while still being an empathetic and caring person at work. i work in a hospital and there’s nothing worse than other employees taking out their resentment on patients.
I don't care what I know about Nyma & Jackie, I LOVE the reels/tiktoks when you introduce yourselves.

I’m an RN now but I worked 11 years in retail and it definitely helped me develop skills I use for nursing daily 😂

Hi! I am a educator and it is a very high stress environment! No one really understands unless they are in it! The admin, the parents, and sometimes (more than ever) the kids treat us like we are disposable and we are mindless puppets who should just suck it up and deal with it because it’s what we signed up for! I didn’t know education was going to be what it turned out to be! I love teaching, I love the babies but I do not like so much or what comes with being an educator and I feel like I am not allowed to complain about it… I’m just told to remember my why … I paused it early on because y’all hit home!!
