  • Getting Bill set up on a basement foundation. Another tricky set with it being on the side of a hill. Getting the shop ready for insulation. Its been a time consuming struggle but its finally getting ready for it. And last but not least getting the plunger cylinders replaced on the 38 meter concrete pump. They've been leaking a little so it was time to replace them.

A basement in TX ??? It will be a good spot to keep out of the heat 😎 You should get DP back down to pass on his knowledge on ICF pours and setting the blocks!!
Workshop is taking shape, you will get it the way you want it soon enough, then you will have to keep it tidy !!!!

Given how long the unpainted pipe has been on the truck, you might be better just buying the next set and getting them painted up ready for replacement of the rusty ones!!

Not alot of field work going on around here yet ground is to cold and wet for framing.
Hopefully temp start warming up in May for the farmers.
Wearing a t-shirt while being outside working only happen about 2 days a week. Which is pretty normal for this time of year.

You might want to check the screws holding the roof metal. They have rubber washers that will eventually degrade and crack, and if you spray foam the roof again, you won’t know it’s leaking for awhile.

I put a lot of new ones up there. But I agree. Those rubber gaskets don’t last forever

Ah good! Could have been why the old insulation came off so nicely in some spots!

I hadn’t noticed before that these trucks are mid-ship drive like a fire truck as opposed to a standard PTO interesting!!

A standard pto wouldn’t supply enough hydraulic pressure to run these functions. These hydraulic pumps put out a lot of pressure

Did they say why they poured the floor with the footings. We do basements in Illinois with bad soil and water issues everywhere. Our floors are poured in between the walls on top of the footings. This locks the walls in place, seals the joint between walls and footings, and makes floor 4 inches higher to help with water issues. Yes I've always been curious why no basements in Texas. You guys start doing alot you will be looking into buying a telebelt or a loop belt lol. Have a great day and stay safe.

I didn’t get a chance to talk to the contractor about the project. I hope to on the next pour.

@@MuddyfeetConcretePumping we do full pours for walls not icfs. Alot of difference between them and in the way they are poured. Icfs arent very big here but our soil calls for extra strong walls. We use aluminum forms and we can pour all the way up and go around. Not sure if you've done icfs but on 9 foot walls it will be done in 3 lifts. Most I've seen also use pea gravel mix with super in it. Most pump guys in my area dont like icfs. Alot of horror stories about blow outs. Do a good video on the walls I'm very interested.
