Very cool, and great price. I have a Ninja V+ for my FX3, but then just a crappy $100 monitor for my other cameras, and I've been wanting to replace it. This might be a good option because I could use the 8-bit recording to edit with as Proxies, and replace it with the raw files before colour grading! (Thinking of my BMMCC and Digital Bolex)

Considering that a good budget monitor with basic functionalities costs around $200. $500 for this monitor definitely worth it.

Yes it has a record function built in. As long as your camera can send a clean feed it can be useful.
