    This pattern was a blast from the last for me. In 1972, I took a crocheting class as an elective in junior high school. This shawl was the first pattern we learned. I did mine in fuchsia.

    Wow, I just finished it and it's exactly what I needed! I am using it as a head scarf for church; the ends are long enough to wrap around your neck and the triangle part covers your head and rests just at shoulder length, perfect! I didn't include the fringe as I was just using it for a scarf. It worked up in just a few hours and was really simple. I used a 4.5 oz skein of Red Heart With Love Metallic in a pale grey and still had yarn left over. I agree that you must work the 124 chains soooooper loose which will make the dc row easier and faster to do. All in all a great pattern and I'm sharing it with friends! Thanks :-)

    Hi I'm wondering how to make this smaller for a toddler? Instead of chaining to 120 should I cut that number in half?

    • @MelodyCrochet
      @MelodyCrochet  Před 6 lety +1

      I would say even smaller. I would try chaining 50 and make the fringe shorter, too. That will make your first row have 23 chain spaces in it and it will end up about 10 rows long and will be about 10" long before fringe.
      You can use the same size to make the fringe, attach it and then secure each attachment with a little fabric glue (they sell it in the sewing area anywhere you find one) and then give that fringe a good haircut so it's shorter for safety. Please, let me see if you make one! That sounds adorable. What a wonderful idea!

      @debbieprocek7512 Před 6 lety +1

      Thanks, I used blueberry muffin. I like the color Changes. I’m just doing the fringe right now% I’m going with 6 strands rather than 8 and I want to make the tassel like in your blog post. When I’m done I’ll tag you on instagram.

  • @PamelasCrochetKnitCorner1

    I love this. I finished it in a few hours. I used Lionbrand Jeans yarn. It came out much smaller. Did you block yours?

    • @MelodyCrochet
      @MelodyCrochet  Před 6 lety

      I have done a little homework and even though the ball says you are getting the same weight and length of yarn...the Jeans yarn is just smaller. I would never guess it but holding it in my hands and comparing to my other 100 gram balls of yarn its just a much smaller ball of yarn. I am working on a purse in Jeans right now so I got a chance to compare it to several and its so odd! I didn't block mine. How big did the shawl end up?

  • @raechelyndawn2580
    @raechelyndawn2580 Před 4 lety

    Do you have any instructions that are broken form further or slower. I've never crocheted and I cannot keep up with this. I macrame but this is very different.

      Do you know you can slow down the speed of a video? Touch the screen and you'll see three dots on the right hand side. Choose playback speed. You can slow it way down. Realistically, you need to learn the bare basics of crochet for any project, even an easy one. Don't give up! Learning something new is always a bit of a challenge but worth it!

  • @yarierosario8555
    @yarierosario8555 Před 3 lety

    Can I add more chains in the beginning? To make the shawl is wider?

    • @MelodyCrochet
      @MelodyCrochet  Před 3 lety

      Yes! But, it will take more than one ball of yarn. Totally worth it...the only reason I made it one ball of yarn is because we all have that one weird ball of yarn in our stash and this project is great for that. But you can make this as big as you like. :)

    how did you put it on in the picture of you wearing it?

    • @MelodyCrochet
      @MelodyCrochet  Před 3 lety

      Im not sure which one you are speaking of...But usually I put the long center in the frong and then take both sides around and behind my head and then let them hang in front on my shoulders. Its stays in place really well that way because of the tassels. :)
