As an audio engineer, I can tell you that there is not “a lot of auto-tune.” I think you should pop on some headphones. The transitions are way too smooth between notes. With this much space, you would easily hear the nuances of tuning. It’s not there. I’m not saying they never use it, but they didn’t here.

You should hear JIN sing LIVE! At the last PTD Concerts in LA, ARMYs, lots of new ones, were shocked to hear Jin sing LIVE... the most STABLE, even with all that dancing! He's called BTS' Live Vocal King, The True Belting King (the only one actually), the Silver Voice. The latter was given to him by the Grammy Panel after reviewing his Live Epiphany.

Let me tell you that you have a very good taste!!! The boy you like is KIM SEOKJIN known as (JIN), and yes he is currently one of the best singers I've heard in a long time. He offers a great variety with his voice, from low registers, middle registers, and some high registers, that surpass the sky (and he excels in all of them). @alex I used to believe same as when u Google search, V comes up most probably. But if you check vocal analysis by ARMYs having professional background, it's actually Jin. They have also considered member's background vocals... that could be the reason for the difference. In many albums (and overall) Jin ends up having longest range and highest note.
Trust me....I still go to the orginal vedio of this just because of JIN's heavenly vocals (the guy your's favorite). The moment he closed his eyes and hit that high note was the climax of the song for me. All the members did great but JINN truly own that performance which crazily went viral in south at that time.Actually I hardly see any difference between the studio versions and the live performances of his songs. His vocal colours are delicate & the range is insane. His solos (Awake + Epiphany + Tonight + Moon + Abbys + Yours )are my favourites being lyrically, vocally & musically enriched. Despite all above he is a Beautiful Spirit inside out indeed👍

You can watch Jungkook while he's casually singing while live streaming without mic. The notes were so clear it seemed like autotune. It may seem like as fans we don't want to believe anything negative but its not the case. They do use autotune in a few songs only stylistically. Maybe they used it on the rappers while they were singing. They certainly don't need one. I didn't believe any of their voices unless I heard them acapella without mics.

dude made some really good points about autotune, except we've heard them sing outside of official releases like in vlives, especially jk and his vlive concerts, and we do know what he sounds like and i do think they use autotune for such releases but i think he's kinda off here on how much
Jin, the one that you said you like, is an amazing, powerful vocalist. Please check out his recent release 'Yours'. Him and Jungkook are my favorite vocalists within the group. I won't comment much on the amount of auto tune used, if any, but Jungkook specifically has perfect pitch and he experiments with his voice a lot to fit the sound. So it may sound like it's heavily auto tuned but I assure you that's not the case. You can check out the acapella ver of Airplane Pt 2 on YT and listen to his recent cover of 'Hate Everything'. BTS sound good in live performances. There usually isn't that much deviation from the studio version, although it depends on the song. The studio versions of title tracks are what I would say are normally auto tuned but not the entirety of their discography. Please check out their bsides as well, I'd recommend 'Blue and Grey'. We’ve had SO many opportunities to see them- Jungkook especially- sing on live streams, in the background of random videos backstage/shooting for non-singing-related projects, etc.. And they definitely don’t use autotune during their regular concerts, including their shows at SoFi. Any time a member was a little off-pitch, you could clearly hear it.

However, I know Westerners need that autotune to sound good, these guys definitely don't, esp the first guy singing...he's got vlives where he sings straight into his phone and sounds so good people think it is autotuned. Many clips recorded of his live vocals, and he sounds like the cd.

@alex I used to believe same as when u Google search, V comes up most probably. But if you check vocal analysis by ARMYs having professional background, it's actually Jin. They have also considered member's background vocals... that could be the reason for the difference. In many albums (and overall) Jin ends up having longest range and highest note.

Trust me....I still go to the orginal vedio of this just because of JIN's heavenly vocals (the guy your's favorite). The moment he closed his eyes and hit that high note was the climax of the song for me. All the members did great but JINN truly own that performance which crazily went viral in south at that time.Actually I hardly see any difference between the studio versions and the live performances of his songs. His vocal colours are delicate & the range is insane. His solos (Awake + Epiphany + Tonight + Moon + Abbys + Yours )are my favourites being lyrically, vocally & musically enriched. Despite all above he is a Beautiful Spirit inside out indeed👍

You can watch Jungkook while he's casually singing while live streaming without mic. The notes were so clear it seemed like autotune.
It may seem like as fans we don't want to believe anything negative but its not the case. They do use autotune in a few songs only stylistically. Maybe they used it on the rappers while they were singing.
They certainly don't need one. I didn't believe any of their voices unless I heard them acapella without mics.

They are not using autotune in this song. Sometimes they use autotune to make big effects on their voices not to correct them.
Jin, the one that you said you like, is an amazing, powerful vocalist. Please check out his recent release 'Yours'. Him and Jungkook are my favorite vocalists within the group. I won't comment much on the amount of auto tune used, if any, but Jungkook specifically has perfect pitch and he experiments with his voice a lot to fit the sound. So it may sound like it's heavily auto tuned but I assure you that's not the case. You can check out the acapella ver of Airplane Pt 2 on YT and listen to his recent cover of 'Hate Everything'. BTS sound good in live performances. There usually isn't that much deviation from the studio version, although it depends on the song. The studio versions of title tracks are what I would say are normally auto tuned but not the entirety of their discography. Please check out their bsides as well, I'd recommend 'Blue and Grey'. We’ve had SO many opportunities to see them- Jungkook especially- sing on live streams, in the background of random videos backstage/shooting for non-singing-related projects, etc.. And they definitely don’t use autotune during their regular concerts, including their shows at SoFi. Any time a member was a little off-pitch, you could clearly hear it.

However, I know Westerners need that autotune to sound good, these guys definitely don't, esp the first guy singing...he's got vlives where he sings straight into his phone and sounds so good people think it is autotuned. Many clips recorded of his live vocals, and he sounds like the cd.
