- “The situation she inherited from Boris was less than good in the same way that the situation Sunak has inherited from Liz and Boris is pretty dire.”
Liz Truss made “some terrible miscalculations” during her time as prime minister and the political situation Rishi Sunak inherited was “appallingly bad,” Adam Jones, former number 10 director of political communications under Liz Truss, tells Andrew Neil.

Stop making excuses he hasn't lived up to any of his promises
I got the impression that electing Truss Prime Minister was an admission the government was already beyond redemption.
Liz Truss: [gets elected]
The Queen: Aight Imma head out.
Vote Labour get the Tories out.
Vote Labour get Red Tories, it's the Westminster change of cheek show. sigh
Lib Dem for me😂
Labour government next week👍.
The die is cast.
@@scottishbombolini7794In what way are Labour and the Tories the same? I think people who claim that are stuck on a default setting it's a total cliche.
Good news Rishi you are not the worst PM in recent Tory history bad news the bar is low low low.
Having read that Sunak will claim that he's a world beating limbo dancer.
Truss was a complete disaster.
Unbelievable.
Wake up tory... you are out !!!
So has he made steps to fix the terrible situation he inherited from the person who he LOST a leadership contest to or have things gotten worse? 🤷♂️
The 'terrrible situation' of Truss did not happen - you have fallen for the Globalist narrative.
Too far too fast … in the wrong direction, with no mandate in sight and no political, economic or sane, validation…
still - at least sunak is turning things around… um…
Vote Labour Vote Reform Vote Liberal Democrats vote tactical. Vote out corrupt tories. Make it the biggest punishment election in British political history.
Wonder who is leading the postal votes.
I have done my bit I'm glad to report voted Lib Dem but want Labour in
Yes...do that!
There is a web site that advises who to vote for for tactical purposes a Google search will find it easy enough if that's what you want to do or just look st who was in 2nd place at the last election.
Well said.
and managed to make it even worse ! Genius !
If sunak wanted to be seen differently then before jumping a4 the chance for power, he should've took his case to the people and attempted to get a mandate. But no he chose to become an unelected primeminister and chose to fail on his promises of integrity etc etc. No sympathy at all for these greedy power hungy crooks
Absolutely spot on
the most startling thing about this video.... Brillo has photo's of Himself, on his walls...
Always think of andrew brillo pad neal god bless private eye
Sunak has no political instinct whatsoever. Plus he comes across as an argumentative, petulant, sulky, schoolboy who makes gaffes one after the other. Glad he’s going
A petulant schoolboy with 700 million £
Truss only wanted to improve the lives of the super rich 1% and use and abuse the 99%
Rishi did a deal with Liz, let Liz put all the prices up so we all pay double and treble to all the Billionaires ever wondered who benefits from high inflation, the wealthy who own everything, then Rishi comes along and pretends he's trying to fix things but in reality he's making all his friends wealthier and himself of course you don't become Billionaires without conning people and ripping people off, how many contracts did Rishi give out to friends and what was going into his family accounts from third Partys
And now a Labour candidate has been suspended for betting on himself to lose. The state of UK politics is appalling, not worth voting for any of them.
The proportion is not 50/50 , and have you forgotten party gate. Labour acted fast to suspend Sunak did nothing.. Big difference
…and then in 18 months did nothing effective to fix it.
This tory is completely deluded!
I urge people to read the manifestos. It took me a while as they are dense. But it certainly changed my mind about who I’m voting for compared to where I was earlier this year.
Sunak has withdrawn support? Does this have any effect at all? I thought CCHQ were redirecting support to the most important candidates anyway!
CCHQ - Corrupt Conservatives Head Quarters.
and truss from johnson my heart bleeds for them,
Good old Liz, she only knocked 30% from my pension funds overnight.
Imagine admitting in public that you voluntarily worked for Liz Truss.
So what?
You mean just like Cameron inherited the GFC? No, because Truss created the disaster right here, with no external help!
Truss's diagnosis was completely wrong, hence she only lasted six weeks as PM. She is a lunatic.
Pathetic excuses from that Tory Geek on Truss
It's ideology we have it now with Sunak, the economy doesn't need tax cuts to stimulate it it needs investment and a lot of it
It's like his BS on net zero costing UK households it doesn't it is payed for mostly by increasing debt yet what did he do instead put 20 billion onto debt with his NI cut and that was the worst of all taxes to cut it boosted middle class incomes. If you want to stimulate the economy with government money then pay public sector workers more or raise the 20% threshold or improve benefits at the bottom.
He simply doesn't have the knowledge to sort it.
5:17 "was there no grown ups at 10 Downing Street to say 'don't do that"? As a Canadian watching from outside the most covered Liz Truss story prior to the death of the Queen was "Liz Truss' new cabinet has no white men in the top 5 posts". This story was covered with glee by the feminist Canadian Broadcast Corp. but rarely mentioned after Truss imploded. So that should answer the question about where were the grown ups.
It would be nice if people in political interviews could start an answer with something other than “look” or “listen”.
Sunak are the best we ever have.
She didn't go too far - going a long long way away like to Antartica would have been better.
Labour is getting my vote 100%.
Truss killed the Tory’s off there was no coming back after what she did
And sunak and his party made it worse much worse, yuo connot deny it's all recorded easy for anybody to see....
Nope SNP will stil be the biggest party doing ok with the pittance we get back every body wants better nhs schools roads housing just look at the rest of the U.K. and nothing improved in decades only politicians bank accounts
Liz Truss' greengrocer
It was not Truss who did for the Conservatives, it was Sunak as Johnson's Chancellor and the majority of 'One Nation pro-EU' Tory MPs who would not accept the 2016 referendum result or the reasons for Johnson's win in 2019 or accept Truss as leader..
@@PassiveAgressive319 We only have his word for that .... what is that worth? Frankly, if he was a committed Brexiter why would he sign the Windsor Framework?
@@uingaeoc3905 I believe him. He’s a terrible liar! lol 😅
The rot started with Truss and BoJo.
I’m not sure Truss made any calculations. Her view of economics was handed to her by right wing ideologues, and she just went with it.
I have also heard that
😂😂😂
who is this incredibly awful male interviewee? yet another tory?
Cons lost the election the day they elected Sunak to lead their party. The people have asked for Reform and hopefully they will get just that. Vote Reform.
Only Labour can bring reform
@@PatrickWhelan-sp1th Disney land is in France. Labour couldn't reform a classroom of rowdy 5 year olds.
Politicians are corrupt !
Factually wrong
Macron's bad management of the French economy makes Truss and Kwarteng look like a pair of amateurs.
What metrics you using for that analysis?
to be fair...he wasn't so daft as to leave the EU, was he....
@temperatemix8268 The data I looked at just this morning in the Spectator. Pretty grim reading. A pensions time bomb on the verge of exploding, national debt at 119% of GDP, a 5.7% structural deficit, a total collapse in productivity and out of control spending.
@@swanvictor887Doesn't change the fact that the French economy is in such a bad state, if it is not managed and managed soon, it could bring down the Eurozone.
@@TheGamesEmporium Ahhh there it is!! I missed it! Haven't heard that for a while! "It's ALL COLLAPSING!!" The EU is dying! The EU is finished.... YAWN.....
