Magic Duels 2015 - Hry
Can't wait to spend 5 hours in the character creator (and instantly hating how my character turned out the moment I see them in a cinematic)
I thought it was just me, lol
they have a lighting system you can use in the character creator to see what your character will look like in gameplay.
In before there is no hide helmet option :P
They're including multiple lighting modes in the character creator to address this lol the DA traditions of terrible hair and the character looking totally different outside of the character creator appear to be over
i heard that you can change your Rook at anytime in game
I won’t be excited. Instead, I’ll be cautiously optimistic.
That's the right way to be. Keep an eye on what's coming but wait and see before committing.
Same dude. It's not as if I'm against it but it's different and that has to be acknowledged.
I will follow Garrus's philosophy : Be prepared for the worst, so you will never have bad surprises.
Same here. Not jumping on a hype train but neither am I boarding a hate bandwagon. Wait and see.
My thoughts exactly.
My inquisitor constantly pissed solas off 💀💀 so I might be cooked
Mine punched him... lol.
Whenever I had the chance to piss off that arrogant egghead or knock sense into him, I would and will continue to do so if given the chance
I could not stand Solas
@@everdinestenger1548 never understood the hate for him honestly.
@@SplendidFactor omg that punch was hilariously funny. 🤪🤛🏼
Wait people hated the Hinterlands?! Huh?! I thought it was the desert areas lol
Hinterlands was awesome, spent sooo many hours here.
Agreed, fuck the desert ugh lol
@@HyouVizer yeah I remember spending the first 10 or so hours in the hinterlands alone on my first play-through. I think it was the Hissing Waste that pissed me off lmao
The desert was the worst.
In every new playthrough, I completely clear all Hinterland missions. They dont know what they are saying
Most people didn't make it the desert because of the progression system. That made them hate the area they were stuck in
I hope the tarot card system has ALL the decisions that are present in dragon keep. If not then it feels like they would be simplifying all the decisions we made in past games and that just sucks.
Yeah I'm with you. What are the major ones for you?
I hope it factors in past romances, like if your Inquistor romanced Solas, that would lead some powerful dialogue should she see Solas again in DAV
Yeah. How the player handled what Anders did in DA2 better be handled well. Also, I was adamantly against the religious inspired genocide of mages by the chantry/Templars in DAI. I always sided with the mages in all three of my plays of that game.
@@HyouVizer That is one of the things I am hoping has massive weight in the story, kind of like if you romanced Solas you would have a good chance redeeming him but if you were an AHole to him, you would not be able to redeem him.
I think it will only be romances and major decisions however there might be stuff like cameos if sent Feynriel to Tevinter for example
I already know what background I’m choosing. Time to be a greywarden again.
I feel ya brother, hell yeah!
It feels like going back home ngl cant wait
Same brother, same. My time as the Hero of Ferelden was legendary!
Now I just need another witch of the wild as a romance option
Me and you both,I Didn't romance Alistair to not be a greywarden again,Tamlen didn't die and turn into darkspawn for the sake of my little guy!
I'm gonna be in that character creator forever omg
You meet your Inquisitor just like how your Inquisitor meet Hawke.
Could very well be. Though I hope they show him to be more of a badass than they showed Hawke
@@Dantics Probably with a prostethic robo-hand. After all the detective chick has a fake leg and I think that elf veil jumper has a fake left hand.
It’s crazy I can’t port my inquisitor in I have to create a whole new one
@@robertcespedes1671 New character creation so something like porting a character was off the table.
It's been 10 years and a whole console generation, two if you include the fact that Inquisition came out on the xbox 360. So there was never much chance of importing your Inquisitior.@robertcespedes1671
All I want to know is… what happened to our gang of companions in the inquisition and our Inquisitor
They'll explain it
The inquistor is confirmed to be in the game you will remake them in the character creator
The 3-person party is a bit tricky. Dragon-age tends to have those interactive areas where you need a rogue to pick a lock, a mage to move stuff, warrior to break down a wall, etc. With 4 members, you could always ensure you had what you needed.
Also, for those of us who are hard-wired to build standard RPG parties with a healer, tank, and DPS...it will be hard not to feel like I'm missing out on something.
Although, if there's a melee mage that lets me have giant rock fists...I'll be just fine.
Yea, party comp is weird with only a 3 man party.
Plus the party banter. God i love party banter. Its more fun if we had 3 companions banter rather than 2.
They dumbed it down as much as possible. Its and Arcade game now not really an RPG
@@ExcessumGaming being a 3-unit party doesn't make a game dumbed down. It's just a different mechanic to adjust to.
I don't understand your conclusion. 3 party system would allow for the 3 obstacles you mentioned to be overcome and the 3 roles you want. What are you missing out on then?
@@curlywhites variety of characters to quest with. If I have a tank, and a mage that can heal, then I only have 1 spot for a DPS mage, or a warrior, or a rogue. And it would NEED to be a rogue to fill out all three. Not many choices.
That also narrows things down based on who you choose to play. If I want to play a rogue, I'm going to miss out on (probably) having any other rogue on my team. Maybe I want to be an assassin, and so Harding is already out of the question. It also eliminates having the warrior Qunari on my team.
Obviously, this gets alleviated some if it just happens to be a game where you don't really NEED a true tank or a true healer. But, the risk there is those games tend to be more button-mashy than actually having to strategize your team composition. Which is an aspect of RPGs I enjoy.
Cant wait to run in as a 2 handed warrior and smashing through everything
What DAI did well was the weight of attacks in 2h mode. Let's hope it's the same.
Ha I’m always a mage ever since Da2 I just like being a magic wielder now if I can do that and deal damage up close like dao I forgot what it was called but it used to be an elven oh arcane warrior which was turned to mage enchanter in dai but yea I wanna be that but in armor 😈😈😈
Welp, and here I am with warrios that after orgins doesn't know how to put another sword in his hads.
Two hand full length blade like in the DA1 not this sword knife shit regardless of how more practical it is I just won’t to look cool
@@Dantics 2h weapons are "surprisingly" light and nimble in real life, games and a lot of films never get that right.
It was confirmed somewhere that the rogue subclass in this demo was the duellist and not the veil ranger.
Really want to hear the mage subclasses!
I hope arcane warrior returns
Elemental
Necromancer
Combat mage
All I know is I heard Blood Mage isn't returning, which is kind of a shame since, you know, this game allows you to take a background related to TEVINTER. You know, the place known to be one of the most heavily influenced by Blood Magic out of everywhere in Thedas???
I am optimistic for this game. I just hope the story and characters hold up to those of previous games. The combat isn't a problem for me and I think I would personally enjoy that faster combat style. The fact that you can customize your inquisitor and the outcome of the previous game, in the creation from the start is really a bonus. It will make my life a lot easier as a die hard solas romancer.
What concerns me is that there only seems to be 3 equipped skills you can use.
Not sure how we go about swapping skills in and out but I too would like more. It seems like they've gone the andromeda route
I get the impression from the dev's comments there will be 4, 3 main and one finisher. That feels a bit better to me tbh when taking into account har large the skill trees are supposed to be
@@Anthony-pq4vrthat makes thr skill trees around very small and limited
Eww gross. So another diablo 4 skill f up. "Here's 45 skills, now pick 4 to use for the the next 30+ hours of gameplay." That could be the difference between whether i buy this game or not. Inquisition has what, 10 skills you can use instantly at any time. Which is awesome. This should be a minimum. Neverwinter takes it to the next level but we won't get into that.
If you can romance Lae'zel you can romance anyone. But nothing can match her personality.
Leave my Frog Princess alone
the gameplay changes seems very... bold. I will keep an eye open neither hyping it, or hating it
Bold is the right word. Let's see where it takes us
'Samey' and 'safe' compared to other recent titles are a couple other words I'd use.
It's very Mass Effect. While I like ME, it was always the lesser of the 2 game series for me. I like games that make me think a little more. Oh well. Hopefully the story makes up for the lackluster combat.
Its more mass effect 2 and star wars
@@countdadcula4475it stresses me because they waited 10 years, so we could think it maybe was because of huge technological advancements, but it turns out it's actually just another game they could have finished 3 years after Inquisition. I recall DA had a contract for five games, if there will be a fifth, I hope they don't wait ten years just to create a game with almost identical looking graphics.
Heals are back! There's a way to get an extra potion slot. There are difficulty sliders to customize the experience. You can make your skill menu be click or hold. These may not seem like big deals to some people, but I have cerebral palsy and all of these things ease any worries I had about "Can I play it?" with the more action-y combat. My favorite Dragon Age game is actual DA2 (I'm basing this off of the fact that I beat it three times.)
The more I hear, the more excited I get. I can't wait to meet new party members and hopefully see some returning faces. I just can't believe it'll be here this fall. There's so much here that looks promising and I can't wait to get started.
Nice, I also found DA2 gameplay fun! I was surprised by the flack that game took (Though I played Origins after 2 lol. DA2 and Inquisition had fun combat imho)
@@TragoudistrosMPH I suppose the people who liked the origins combat felt similarly to how some Final Fantasy fans felt about Final Fantasy XVI as opposed to older turn based entries. I enjoyed all three games, and I'm willing to give the new one a go because I wanna see what happens with the story.
@@KatallinaVT the story is addictive, and I too have an open mind :)
Here's to us both giving up an insane number of happy hours this fall!!! 🥂
I loveddd the hinterlands because I loved exploring. I went through each area to take in each detail and do everything the game had to offer
Not a fan of them nerfing the party to three and being unable to use companions thats a huge mistake.
I don't know if it is with how its explained here. dont get me wrong im still skeptically optimistic, but i actually didnt mind how they did it in Mass Effect. its less to micromanage and if you can cutomize behaviors and strategies like in past games it may just be fine
Nothing was worse than Alastair always getting the last death blow AND cinematic scene AND all of the XP points.
Nothing was more infuriating. And I loved Alistair.
I just dont like the 3 skills that's a mass effect skill problem with an ult not a dragon age problem

@@vergillives9890 You are being reasonable though, most hate comments I see about this game on any social media is just that the graphics are crappy and it’s not open world, so I fully respect what you’re saying.
Of course I’m abusing the boob slider I’ve played so many games that they say you can make a character look realistic yet I can’t. I either have to be skinny or thick with no titties. That is not my body I wanna play as my thick big butt and big breasted self and since weave ain’t in the game long luxurious locks that and living in a world where I’m a mage will be my only fantasy ( me having long luxurious locks is the fantasy as well as being a mage)
I actually hear this feedback A LOT from women. That they can't make characters that represent 'them'. I hope extra hairstyles means you get those long luxurious locks, because that was some of the feedback they got from Inquisitions lack of hair options.
@@Dantics I’m not surprised tell a woman she can make a character how she wants then deprive her oh the hell you’ll get in return I think we’re worse then men watching sports when a game doesn’t go how we thought it would
"companions can eventually start romancing other characters" is exactly what we wanted in BG3 with Karlach and Wyll😭😭😭😭
Most of the info you went over seems to point in the right direction for what I was hoping for...until you got to the part where companions cannot be controlled. There were two key gameplay mechanics I was looking for: 1. Tactical pausing (confirmed) and 2. Full party control (removed).
Very disappointed the devs went in the direction for a more Mass Effect squad style with only the ability to issue skill usage commands. Personally, I liked to move and position/reposition my party during battle. I feel it's an integral part to the basis of party based combat in an RPG that the previous Dragon Age games had. Sad to see it was removed.
I was at the cautiously optimistic level of enthusiasm. But now I'm back to neutral unfortunately.
Yeah see this is what I was expecting would happen with many people. Controlling companions is such a Dragon Age thing that it does seem odd to not have it. Well, be sure to still follow along to see if that changes, but I completely understand
@@Dantics Tatical pause doesn't make sense if you don't control them. It's more like "you got jumped out, think what you can do!" now. There's zero tactic in this. Meaby a bit of strategy (like d'oh fireball this fire elemental he is weak against fire for sure, he's already burning) but nothing else. More of paper - rock - scissors...
You Can still issue move and skill commands to your squad if they are going for a more mass effect style approach. So the tactical pause could be used for positioning and such.
also, inquisition felt like a slog sometimes, controlling a different character/class really helps me get through the game as I would not get bored playing. unfortunate that they removed it.
I understand your frustration, but the combat system reminds me at that Guardians of the Galaxy game, which was quite fun actually. As long as they wont fuck up the story, I will overlook the loss of full party control. :)
My last inquisitor didnt talk to solas until skyhold and i punched him in the face. Im cooked.
Solar is going to be a mean bastard for you then.
Honestly would be cool if, while Solas believes he is helping, his methods of chaos are reduced if he is treated well. If he was abused by the Inquisitor in DA:I he should be quite chaotic, not caring about the level of destruction he is causing.
No EA account linking 🎉🎉🎉 🥳🥳🥳
More worried about linear missions, feel like that will make or break the game.
Wdym 'linear missions'? Dragon Age has always had linear quests, point A-B-C-D-E, congrats quest complete, theres very rarely been a 'do this or do that' type of quest
So is the dragon keep redundant now? I thought that was a really really cool game feature they added. Especially if you wanted to change your world state without replaying the first 2 games!
i can finally be a grey warden again 10/10 for me
Yeh that's how I felt. 🤔
Man I hope for the Qunari race we can get a Tal'va'shoth or followers of the Qun backstory
.
The button masher on rails just doesn’t initially appeal to me. We will see after it’s out.
Agreed, button mashers can be ok if they have a rich and engaging game world to make up for it, but on rails? I don't think this one is for me
I am so absolutely stoked for this game. I have always had a lot of love for the dragon age series. Got me through some really rough times in my life.
Mass Effect was like that for me, but I really did enjoy Origins so much that I replayed it with every origin. Let's hope this holds up
@@DanticsEveryone didn't do that?? And now I'm having flashbacks to how utterly tragic all of them were
@@papist27some people only played 1 or 2 characters and called it a day missing out
A story driven game. Folks that want open world non linear can go play a ubisoft game. This approach (straight forward story driven) is needed every now & again. I'm hopeful & excited for this game.
I have yet to manage to get past the first 1/3 of Inquisition. I don’t feel there is a story, and I don’t even feel for my own player character. I’ve tried 3 times.
Bring on the story!
Open world games can be great if we get fixed loot instead of random and not too many mmo-like side quests. Inquisition was pretty terrible in both aspects, especially farming schematics was built terribly and collectables like shards were tedious AF. It had its shining moments though, I hope these larger areas with more exploration only take the good sides of Inquisition.
Fully offline, no micro transactions, and single player? BioWare is really trying to get us hyped.
Except they are treating us like dumb fucks, and dumb down the combat to become twitchy fortnighty player reaction based and limit us to 3 lousy measly combat skill slots and no actual control of companions .. and limited to 2 other companions some more.
I don't like the overreaction this game received, but at the same time I can see why it got it. From all of the details I read up on online, it seems like the marketing team screwed up royally, even with the gameplay reveal in a way.
I'm a huge fan of Origins btw and its gameplay. But even with all the gameplay changes, I think I will still have fun in this game. At the end of the day Dragon Age has been slowly moving away from that formula ever since DA2. And while I do feel sad about it and find it a bit disappointing, I also like other genres of games, and I can get my Origins kick from a lot of other great CRPGs nowadays. But only this franchise has DA's storyline.
I still love dao but I won’t lie I’m glad they did because I’ve been playing baldurs gate 3 and although it’s great I hate the tactical as well as having to wait my turn to fight which is funny because my mom whose 55 said she likes games like dragon age inquisition because it’s a bit faster in combat for her and yet like me she’s a huge dragon age fan. And yes I won’t lie I was so disappointed when I saw the reveal trailer I kept thinking it was a prank and for a different game like I got Carrie Harding and rook but my boy emmerich got done so dirty and then some of the creatures just looked really off like the dark spawn and skeletons they looked like a mix of fable and ratchet and clank imo. But emmerich looked like the creepy neighbor from hello neighbor.
I'm like you. I like Origins style but I'm sure I would still have fun in this game.
I feel like they dropped origins play style right away with 2, and found a medium return with Inquisition. I love all the games, I replay every one of them at least once a year and I know I'll do the same with this one.😅
I am tired of people complaining. I am also a fan of Origin to Inquisition, and I was so excited with the gameplay-reveal. The Trailer did disappoint me a bit, but just because I already looked for characters to romance. XD
I wish I could look past this, like you but for me: I just cant enjoy this
"They included everything people liked from past Dragon Age games." Also, "You can't control other party members, like you could in past Dragon Age games."
Dozens of hairstyles and EA sports physics, I can't wait!
Girls really didn't get a lot of choice with Hairstyles in Inquisition. My GF at the time was annoyed she had no good long hair options.
@@Dantics Wow
@Dantics I was annoyed at that, too. But that's the case in most games, sadly.
Most games just don't want to bother with hair physics
DAI hair infamously looked like wet spaghetti 🍝 💦
@@Dantics Yeah, even as playing as a masculine player it was annoying because of how ugly the hairstyles were. Ended up having to mod the hair and literally most of character creation. Would be cool to have a dd2 type character creation.
These character designs actually make "nudity confirmed" almost sound like a punishment.

I laughed, you're not wrong.

That’s hilarious lol
1 thing i´m abit worried about as far as combat is the camera angle in combination with enemy ground effects. The Pride Demon fight showed the problem pretty well, as in becouse the camera angle sits so low behind your character it creates moments where u cant quickly see the whole outline or how big the aoe effects are. Imo they should seriously consider raising the camera angle up abit higher from the ground to make it easier to se the aoe outlines properly. Nothing is more frustrating than taking dmg from effects u though u were out of just becouse u couldent properly se the outline correctly.
As a senior gamer, I hate the reliance on action combat with "parry windows," and other such things my reactions won't allow.
I'm with you. The good news is there will be the ability to tune those things at the start of the game.
@@Dantics There is so hope then but as older player I refuse to dodge and parry. Im to old for that shit. I hate 95% of soulslikes.
@@ExcessumGaming I don't mind most parry and dodge systems. I think some games implement them more to a casuals liking (myself included) unlike soulslike games (which I also despise).
@@ExcessumGaming For me I have a little carpal tunnel in my elbow. So I have to take it easy with action type games. In fact I haven't played any in the last 2 1/2 years. I'm hoping I won't have to turn the difficulty down to easy, I still prefer to play on normal. But yeah I don't give a crap about dodging. I will most likely be a mage my first playthrough anyways.
Shoulda just made the combat like Dragon's Dogma. Not 10 year old Arkham Asylum and Shadow of Mordor.

When they say your faction will influence the start… my theory is that it will change which of the companions you meet first.
I hope so, that would be a nice little addition. But I feel as though it won't just because it would fundamentally change the start. You need Neve because she's the detective tracking down Solas.
Been following you Dantics since the days of Anthem (still sore how good that could of been). Glad to still you're still here giving opinions and reporting on facts about games, not just jumping on the clickbait hate train that so many channels do now, shouting with all their might how a game is gonna fail hard.
You're a gem in the rough, keep it going. As for the game, like others, i'm not gonna over hype it, but i'm keeping a keen eye on it and can feel a slight smile growing, the more i see about it.
That takes me back. I completely understand about Anthem. Trust me. I wanted it to continue more than anyone but when I saw the Anthem next content and they asked my feedback, I had to be honest. It wasn't quite there. But thankfully they respected that and ultimately I think they went the right direction focusing on other titles.
My recommendation is always 'follow' a game, but only invest when you will have fun. No use being negative before you know the full picture.
Starting with a faction may be good, but how about factionless?
"they sure as hell will not find it with me" 😂😂😂 great video!
I cautiously maintain a bit of hype, just in case xD but seeing as Tevinter features heavily in this game, I will be extremely dissapointed if they don't bring back blood mage as a playable option.. It has been missing since origins now!

Rant over, glad to be back Dantics.
It has been bugging me how people are saying this isn't Dragon Age but Origins is and like.... Origins is the odd one out, this game is technically more emblematic of Dragon Age as a series than Origins is, for better or worse.

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Maybe we'll get to customize more than just the Inquisitor. Maybe we'll get to remake Hawke and the Warden
There’s a lot more information floating around than I thought. Thanks for sharing, and the humor was great haha!
making Andromeda comparisons is NOT a good thing.
Andromeda's biggest issue was that it didn't matter. Mass Effect 1-3 we're about a galaxy wide extinction event and every action from the previous game was tied to the next game.
Andromeda was a complete off shoot where there was barely any reference to the first 3 games. And was a story geared around colonizing a new system. The story wasn't very appealing after everything they did before.
Opinion Warning ⚠️
Gameplay in Andromeda was the funnest it has been.
@matt-the-slayer8828 like I said, making comparison between the two is not a selling point
Dragon Age Inquisition is still one of my favorite games of all time. So if this game can give me a similar vibe, I’m down for it. The gameplay trailer gives me hope. Hopefully more information coming out will get me more excited.
I was introduced to the franchise Via DAi and it’s my favourite of the lot. So I guess I’m the right kind of person for this one.. I’m excited about seeing how 10 years has changed things, and excited for a story I love in a new format.
So long as my inquisitor is still with Dorian I’m easily pleased. And excited for a huge character customisation.
If this is all true I'm so on board. I just hope we get more love for dwarves; culturally and lore wise I find them fascinating, and their lack of magical access makes them unique in the world. But there were so few dialogue options regarding magic for them in Inquisition, a game so focused on magic and the Fade, and it felt weird as a result.
I hope mages have blood magic. Dorian said that it’s not looked down on in his land.
There is a plot reason why you can't it probably has to do with the veil and the forgotten ones
“If you want to […] make sure that every single action is planned out to your exact specifications, you can do that too.”
You literally can’t. It’s even said earlier in that doc.

It looks great to me. I guess the original fans are pissed. I've never played 1-3. I started with inquisition. This shit looks awesome.
Can't wait to see what skills Mage will have, but I hope they have movement like Rogue and not rooted when attacking.
I liked Hintherlands. I never leave until its 100%.
Did he say blight?? Hopefully we get to see the Hero of Ferelden. I miss my Dalish Elf.
My theory is that this game will end with hinting at the beginning of the 6th blight. It's possible that the 6th blight even begins during the game.
Imagine if you are a Warden and/or have the Warden companion and suddenly you get a vision of an Archdemon awakening.
Then they release an expansion for the game called The Sixth Blight. A 15 hour long new adventure that follows the end of the game where you must bring a Thedas that's reeling from a recent blight, and multiple demonic invasions, back together to yet again fight another blight.
Imagine, world state taken into account, seeing Fereldan warriors show up on the field of battle led by none other than Alistair, former Grey Warden and King of Fereldan.
@@matt-the-slayer8828 that would be awesome to be honest
@@twanD.specialist it seems like the blights are coming quicker and quicker between each one.
1200 years between 3rd and 4th.
400 years between 4th and 5th.
30ish years between 5th and 6th?
I imagine that the Dark spawn have been digging all over Thedas for a very long time, so they have to be closing in on all The Old Gods by now.
On top of that with the Veil potentially collapsing in this game, there is a lot of "energy" being pulled into Thedas from The Fade. The Old Gods were originally cast out of The Fade when the Tventir Imperium went into The Golden City at the behest of The Old Gods. They were buried deep in Thedas and put into a slumber. With this "energy" seeping into Thedas, it's possible an Old God could awaken before ever being corrupted.
@@twanD.specialist
Or you know, what about a double blight? 2 Archdemons are corrupted at the same time.
@@matt-the-slayer8828 if I remember correctly in an old interview it was confirmed that the Dark spawn are indeed looking for Old Gods. And that there are 4 still sleeping, well 3 since one is inside our child with Morrigan. I could be wrong since that was ages ago. Still excited for though!
I heard Varric and Harding has the same voice actors from Inquisition, I'm curious if Solas has the same voice actor? He was fantastic!
Solas absolutely does have the same voice actor. Confirmed by the devs. twitter.com/GambleMike/status/1800560774169153939
Only that trio at that point may make me consider buying this game. But it all depends on writing to be honest.
@@Dantics Perfectemundo!
Can you clarify if the combat wheel is static or do we get to stir them over once we get multiple skills unlocked?
Incredibly well done. I like it when the narrator speaks quickly but uses that to convey more details on the game not so much about their perceptions. Both are good but I think learning of the game in this case is more helpful. Afterall, we'll all judge for ourselves eventually. Very nice job. I appreciate your style.
So a vast skill tree yet only three active skills? Thats kinda wack.
I guess that if you are on pc they will handle it like at the previous game, you get a hotbar from 1 - 0
I get the impression from screenshots and things the devs have said that there will actually be four active. 3 main and one finisher. But did you catch the article about skills trees? apparaently there are large spiderweb skilltrees for each class, with 3 specs per class. seems like many abilities will be talents or passives with some core active abilities. 4 feels a lot better to me than 3, so im not as mad about it
@@Anthony-pq4vr but it's a huge downgrade to the other games where I had multiple abilities
@@lucariopokemon13 i guess. but i get the impression there are so many talents and passives it will highly impact everything even how your auto attacks work, so there will still be lots of customization. will have to wait and see tho!
@@Anthony-pq4vrSounds like inquisition, I'm afraid they're using that as their metric for "large spiderweb skill tree"
I wonder if there will by any *companion* customization in the game. At least hairstyles, outfits, etc. Or if we're stuck with their current designs (of which I am not a fan) forever. Great summary, the more information we can get early on, the better. Thanks!
Somehow I doubt it very much. If there is customisation, it'll just be their gear and weapons. Thanks for watching!
There never was any non-player customization of how characters looked like. Here we will get an option to customize the Inquisitor. And I'm sure that when it comes to the character customization of player character there will be no bust size slider. I reaaaly doubt the current Bioware would allow that.
@@chillax319 They said the body was fully customizable, height, thickness, everything. This is a dumb childish thing to say lol modern games aren't against people being hot
Honestly the party size is concerning to me. It looks like they are going the route of DA2 when it comes to combo abilities. That would mean I would be required to have the other two classes I'm not playing as in the party to make full use of it. Having that forth slot for a extra warrior/rogue/mage added some breathing room for building approval with companions and variety in banter while on the field.
Cautiously optimistic is where I’m at. Will pick up. Never pre order
You know what... I am tired of being skeptical. I have been really struggling with feeling like a grumpy old man about everything from Disney Star Wars to the current state of Bioware and Bethesda. The real world requires my skepticism, but this stuff is just supposed to be fun. I am simply going to be excited for this. I do not doubt that it will be fun on some level, even if it is not AS good as I want it to be (and it may well knock it out of the park, who knows?).
Either way. Really looking forward to it, and I am hoping they pull this off.
I'm tired of being grumpy too. I just want to enjoy things
Really looking foward to this. Happy that Keep won't be use also, I just hope it includes as many options as possible.
Got a good laugh out of the tweet that asked if you would be forced to play anything but straight, its as if people like that have never played a Bioware game before. Or just have an overwhelming urge to use the word woke at any given oppotunity.
I am also so glad they have gone back to a more streamlined approach. everyone likes to moan at 2, me included but id take an upgrade on that over "You need 1000 of random resource to progress."
When they described the body type thing as a triangle, it called to mind character customization in Fallout 4. The thing I'm looking forward to is customizing my character background and picking which decisions I made in previous games.
I really hope this game turns out great because I really liked Inquisition. And on another note I actually really liked the dialogue in Mass Effect Andromeda. Me personally I had a blast playing Andromeda and I really like the game.
Hey, do you think the missions are hand crafted and curated?
I get nervous when companies do that. It's like them telling you indirectly that something about the game is going to suck, so they want to make you focus on this other aspect instead, so you don't hopefully notice the first part sucks.
They made it this way because it's what fans asked for. DAI's world was pretty and had engaging stuff in it, but was ultimately too big and bloated and that was a consistent complaint. DAO didn't have an open world but a system similar to what DAV sounds like, curated spaces that allowed for some exploration but was filled with specific visuals, enemies, and story beats to find. The impression I got is it's a mix between DAI and DAO's style, DAO's curation with more of DAI's size.
Sounds more and more like it is built like Andromeda. At least in terms of combat style, dialogue options and skills/abilities. Combat was fun in that game, but I hated having 15 abilities but could only ever use 3 at a time, and it was a pain in the glute to setup and shift around.
There has been nothing on inventory management, but seeing as both DA:I and ME:A's inventory suuuucked balls, I have no great expectations in this game either.
But I loved the lore and story of Origins, and most of the companions in following games (especially Varric). So I might check this out, if the reviews are positive.
If they kill off Varric early on, then I'm out. Fuck 'em ;)
They can't kill Varric off right? RIGHT?!
@@Dantics riiiight
@@TempestDK I really hope not.
Well as soon as I find out more about inventory and gear I'll let you all know.
I love Varric, but he is greatly overused. 3rd game now he's in, and past two in a row as a party member. Then tons of focus in the comics too. I am okay with them possibly passing, if so I want to be a great death scene, make that shit hurt, make me cry, be anger at who killed him, have it be brutal. Emotionally fucked up me Bioware 🥲👍
But also have a secret way to avoid his death too, like Goro Takamura from Cyberpunk 2077, that be dope too.
@@HyouVizer Overused? .. he hasn't been in a game in almost a decade. He is the thread that binds the last couple of games together, since each protagonist is different.
Also that would be like saying that Garrus, Tali or Liara were overused in ME 1-3. I don't think anyone would say they were, even if they were part of each game.
But since he obviously won't be a companion, I doubt he will have as big a role to play this time, as in the past two games.
I’m way more optimistic after this video. That character reveal trailer a couple days ago had me stressed 😂
I know I need to be cautiously optimistic but FENEDHIS MY HYPE HAS PEAKED!!
i hope we can meet our warden
Remember, no preorders.
I love how much people hated the Hinterlands because I honestly loved it. It's really not that big at all, but I get that it feels that way. The Hissing Waste was exhausting to me personally. But I loved each area for the worldbuilding it provided though they definitely could have done the whole exploration/quest associations a lot better so everything didn't feel so daunting and large. Hope they learned from that. The release actually has me replaying Inquisition at the moment. I wasn't sure if I'll play Veil Guard only because of what EA/Bioware has done to its staff, but I'll need to do some more digging to make my full decision. This series and Horizon Zero Dawn got me through 6 years of domestic violence and going on 7 years of the after once I was free. I've written 13 fics for Dragon Age and made some amazing friends through the fandom. Saying goodbye leaves a melancholy taste in my mouth and I'm not sure I want to let go of the next game just yet. (Also really hoping people stop b*tching about the game so much because it's exhausting and 99% of what I've read and seen has been so damn petty. Everyone pissed on the previous games' trailers but then praised the game once it was out. It's just the same ol' shit now.
I'm glad the factions affected gameplay. With race, faction and class there's already alot of choices
All of this sounds pretty good to me. I reconciled a long time ago that we are never going to get another DA game like Origins and for someone who is in it for the story above all else, this is perfectly serviceable gameplay and i will probably end up enjoying my time a lot playing it
Expect the last 2 games stories have been terrible.
Same. I really want to play Inquisition again to familiarize myself with the lore again, but, damn, I get bored so easily. I really hope their mission-focused narrative keeps me engaged so I'll actually look forward to another playthrough. Inquisition was just...too broad.
@@rannenw6207 Terrible how? I love the fact that their story takes place in the foreground of something much bigger happening. Yes, DA:O story was epic, but there was a bigger story being told in the background. DA2's story wasn't so epic, but the background story got closer and closer and came to a head in DA:I where, again, something bigger was actually happening. I really enjoyed the intertwining of the small foreground stories with a big picture story slowly unfolding as we go through the games.
@@curlywhitesIdk if you've read any of the DA books (there are a lot) but I recommend reading Tevinter Nights. It's a collection of short stories all set in around the time the game is taking place and touches on a lot of things the games will likely include.
@@SaVanityVan Unfortunately, I lost the thirst for reading after high school. I don't know what happened.
I generally like the direction of gameplay. Artistically though, this is a miss for me. The graphics too busy with garish glaring oversaturated lights and colors. The faces so blurry it almost made me rub my eyes trying to focus. Hope this will change with more polishing.
I strongly dislike the cartoonish color palette as well. To be fair though, Inquisition had a similar issue. What is the biggest bummer for me, however, is the gameplay. I feel like I am watching a movie, not playing a tactical RPG. All they had to do is revive the DA: Origins combat style and top down camera.
I find it hard to believe there will be no microtransactions...
It is in every game comming out from big studios, if they keep that promise, it will earn them alot of love, respect and admiration from fans who are quite done with gaming and corporate greed.
All of this really did turn around my opinion on this title. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it! I'm waiting, like everyone, for more gameplay. That will really be the final push for me.
I loved MEA’s combat so it’s exciting to see it applied to DAVG! I know people liked being able to control the other characters, but I never really utilized it. And that’s awesome that characters that you don’t romance might fall for each other that’s such a rich world building feature because it means that the world doesn’t fuller revolve around you; the npc are indeed their own person.
Lol also “glute volume” is such a polite way to say you can give you character a dump truck! Lol
Varric is supposed to tell jokes. :) I must say I am getting hyped. Maybe that awful trailer helped in some sort of reversal. Maybe it was brilliant. :)
Absolutely. That's his whole character. Maybe they gave us the trailer so the rest would seem great in comparison.
I still can't really get over how they changed Varric's look. I get adding some grey to his hair and all, but why is he black haired now instead of red/brown. And now he's growing a beard rather than keeping clean shaven like before. I am hoping My Inquisitor, Female Dalish Elf, who romanced Solas, get's portrayed properly, and the Decision's I made are impactful to the continued story. There's a lot that props up this story. And all minor gripes aside, it's the story that I need closure on. Also I desperately need to see how Dorian and The Iron Bull are doing 9 years later.
No dedicated archer build ? Like do I have to use daggers and occasionally bow if I am able playing as rogue?
Not 100% sure but I think we are going to be able to 100% use a bow the cap is 50 and there are a lot of skill trees and stuff
Great coveragte dantics, I'm hoping the romance stuff needs to be sought and everyones not just jumping on you though. As someone who gets into story and character development, that ruined Baldurs gate for me. Otherwise looks really good.
I hope so. A little bit of work is appreciated.
I'm playing through the BG3 now and I must say they turned down the horniness of companions. They don't try to jump you immedietly like it was close after the release.
I agree very much with this. This was worse in Inquisition than any game I've played. Remember (male) Cullen repeatedly and brazenly flirting with my male character despite doing my best to turn him down. Felt quite off-putting.
@@RansomMemoryAccessthat’s strange cause Cullen was straight from what I remembered in DA:I
@@TheMrShnickers Yeah, gotta call BS on that one. The guy's clearly thinking of DA2, which actually WAS guilty of every companion being "playersexual". To the point where Anders was infamous for how clingy he was to Hawke, regardless of gender. He was basically Halsin before Halsin.
With DA:I, in contrast, each and every companion had a very specific sexuality, with only 2 out of the 8 being bi. And Cullen was decisively not one of them.
More excited than that first trailer!
Me too
The bar isn't really that high.
@@cedriclacomblez9827its under the cellar and still going lower
Can we talk about that absolutely insane man who was concerned that Bioware was going to force him to be gay?
Maybe it was a concern that a slight push would actually turn him?
@@Dantics oh gosh oh no it sure would be terrible if bioware forced me to be gay! I would hate it if I had to play through the whole game with a gay character! 🥺
Honestly, it’s not even possible for BioWare to “force him to be gay” when all the romantic dialogue options have a heart icon to tell you that they’re romantic.
This is a very helpful video, thank you!🎉
