    Taken a sub 500g drone Turkey on 4 different occasions no problems whatsoever. Hopefully viewers read the part that only drones over 500g could be seized by Turkish customs. This year at Turkey several of the watersports centres on the beach I was at had their own drones filming the jet skis, parasailing etc. Great information as usual Ian 👍🏻

      I’m going to Northern Cyprus soon which is the Turkish side - I contacted them and filled out the Form-001 also sent them all documents what was required - they contacted me saying that I didn’t need to register drones under 500g - I just wanted to be sure as I did read that about the weight

      That's good to know. The way the regulations are worded it doesn't actually make it clear that sub 500 drones are exempt so good info there 👍🏻 Pinned. 👍🏻

      @@IaninLondon Yes it’s always been confusing and I’m always slightly concerned when passing through Turkey but your bag is only really scanned when leaving the place. I’ve been through Dalaman twice and Antalya twice so I can’t speak for Istanbul etc. I’ve always gone by this link (below) and question number 13. You’ll need to translate it from Turkish to English. Feel free to browse all 45 questions though and let us know if you can make total sense of it 😁

    Hi Ian I have a mini 3 pro. I have an old Wor Woder headphone hard case, great folding headphone but the case is perfect for the drone plus it has a carabina on it so you can hook it onto your belt. Not all models have hard case but only about £25 and you have a great set of headphones too.

    Just returned from England, Italy and Malta on a two month holiday. Took my Mini 4 Pro along with my CAA licenses and EASA licenses. Captured literally hours of drone footage and had absolutely no issues with any authorities or requests to see any licenses. Thank you Ian for all the great information you provide to the drone community. Much appreciated. - Bill from the States.

    I was in turkey with my mini 3 pro last month. Turkish Customes said its ok to bring in the country since its less than 250g. No pilot registration needed.
    Some archeological sites ban drones. So i used my 360 x3 instead.😅

    Just come back from Malta Ian. All my flights were authorised by Tm-Cad (even ones well inside the airport FRZ) but were caught out on 3 occasions by DJI Geo-locks. Didn't have time to unlock. Seems DJI haven't relaxed their Geo-locks in some EASA ruled countries as we have enjoyed recently in the UK.

    • @IaninLondon
      @IaninLondon  Před měsícem +1

      Yes, I found that in Malta. If you Have mobile signal, you can normally unlock very quickly as it seems to be automated

      @IaninLondon Yes Ian , I tried that, but for some reason it kept stalling and signal wasn't great. Going forward, I'll clear using Flysafe in advance, something I've not had to do in UK since Jan 24.

    Just back from Italy, Amalfi Coast, I got my ID via Luxembourg and it was free and had no issues at all traveling with my Mini 4Pro, had a Flyaway though off Capri on my last day and lost the drone, I couldn't figure out what went wrong checking the flight log neither could DJI but they replaced it with not much hassle at all even though I didn't have Care Refresh.

    Good morning Ian. You mentioned Cyprus. I have a trip coming up and am puzzled that on the Cyprus aviation drone map it shows a limited amount of restricted flight zones. On drone assist the whole island is now covered with a red blanket covering those flight zones. Who should I believe? Any ideas? regards.

    • @IaninLondon
      @IaninLondon  Před měsícem

      You're right; Drone Assist does show it all prohibited, but the actual government website seesm to make more sense and shows just a few restricted areas. Unsure; maybe email them to confirm? I used this gov map; drones.gov.cy/geo-zones-map/
