Ten wonderful days cruising from Venice, Italy to Athens, Greece. Ports along the way include Koper, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Corfu, Katakolon and Santorini.
Great video and great narration. We will be on the same cruise late April. 2023. Going from Athens to Venice Thanks for sharing g your adventure. We are super excited!! Cheers
Well done. Nicely produced. We did the exact same trip three weeks ago. Sadly, 9000 passengers ( 5 ships ) arrived in Santorini on the same day so, the local port authority closed everything down and all our tours were cancelled. ( They cannot handle that many tourists at one time ). Overall, an excellent trip and Viking did a bang-up job.
Thank you! And thanks for watching! Sorry to hear you weren't able to get off at Santorini... they actually told us that happens from time to time and were managing our expectations in case it happened to us. We really love the whole Viking experience and have a few on the books over the next couple years.
thank you for sharing!! I am getting on this cruise on the Viking Saturn in October with my Mom, and a couple of my aunts and uncles, I’m looking forward to it! 😊
what was the excursion on the catamaran....wife and I are looking to do this for our 35th anniversary...great view...we plan on doing add ons on both ends
@@downhomewithdrew1277 hmm… not sure what you may be referring to. The only excursion that involved a boat was in Ston… where we had the mussels and oysters. Sorry.
Thank you for this informative video. We are planning to do a similar Viking cruise. One thing I’m curious about is whether you had any difficulty getting bookings on your first choices for the excursions?
Not really… but we also make sure we do our homework researching which excursions we want and then go online as soon as our window opens to book. Some of them really book up quickly! Good luck!
@@fiddlerrider2808 never been on any cruise. We've traveled to 42 nations with our young kids to date and planning a huge circumvention of the earth. Would be epic to do a cruise up the Adriatic and get a sense of that part of the world. Maybe there's another option.
Beautiful video! I would really like to know the date of your cruise. We are traveling a similar route in April 2024. I'm wondering if the weather in the evenings will be too cold for us to dine outside or be on our balcony. It's hard to predict the weather but I'm trying to get an idea of what it will most likely be. Any thoughts?
Thanks for watching and thanks for the compliment! We were on the cruise October 10 - 19th. As you saw, the weather was rather spectacular. Not sure what April is like but I bet there’s some websites that can tell you what the norms and averages are?
Absolutely... they should pay me for advertising! LOL www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/cruise-destinations/eastern-mediterranean/empires-mediterranean/index.html#search/sfym=2023-10&sftcm=13-176
Hey Russell, thanks for watching! I think the only "included" tour was Olympia. The other excursions we add-ons. With the exception of Krka National Park, all were a great value. Viking did a great job of contracting wonderful guides and didn't pack the groups with too many people.
This video is definitely incomplete to go from kotor to corfu you have to pass through Albania wich has 450 km of coastline 280mi for trying to erase 3000 years of history with sweet talk is just low not to mention beautiful city of Saranda albania is a stone throw from corfu you can actually see it .I'm only commenting on the video so you guys can get correct information.
How right you are! It sounds like it was really our great loss that Viking didn’t stop in any Albanian ports of call. Hopefully, one day we’ll be able to see that beautiful city of Saranda that you mention. Thank you for pointing that out and thank you for watching my video!
What I like about American tourists is that they are open-hearted and without an inferiority complex. That's why they are always welcome!
This is by far the best video of Viking shore excursions I have seen yet. Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks for watching and thanks for your wonderful comment!
Thanks for the great review. We are considering the same trip. I don't think we would be disappointed!

T loved the Greek Islands and you fed my rich memories !
Wonderful video! You give such a great introduction to Viking Ocean cruises! My husband and I can’t wait for our first trip.
Wonderful... Enjoy! And thanks for watching my video!
Love your video! We will be on the Viking Neptune in October on a similar but a bit shorter cruise. Thanks for sharing.

We will be doing a very similar route - but mostly on land, in September. Hopefully smaller crowds ... fingers crossed!
It is such a beautiful area. I would love to go back and spend more time in each place. Enjoy your trip!
Just wonderful! Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Love your blog! Your calm approach to describing everything is fantastic!
Wow... gosh... thanks!
Great video! My husband and I depart on the same cruise in June. Can't wait!
Thanks for watching and have a wonderful cruise!
going in two weeks so excited
Beautifully done! Many thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Amazing itinerary! Beautiful trip! Well done. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for a very interesting video. We did a Viking European river cruise in October. Which we enjoyed very much.
Thanks for watching! The River Cruises are also a lot of fun... we also did one a few years ago out of Paris and had a wonderful time.
Thanks.
Very informative vlog dear sir we are watching here in Oman God gives you more and more success
Very informative videos. New subscriber here. Hello from the Philippines.

At 70 are we too old to do this Italian tour and then the Viking cruise….
Thanks for watching. I think it’s doable at whatever pace you’re up for. Honestly, I would have been good just hanging out in the piazza’s all day!
Absolutely not. We’re older than that and doing it April 2024
@ 11:41 I'm curious why the maritime museum would have what looks like a terra cotta warrior statue, like you see in Xian China.
I wish I could tell you! I think it was actually a statue of a sea captain from some century long ago.
Were there many kids on the cruise?
@@ChalrieD I assume you’ve never been on a Viking cruise then? No kids on Viking. It’s wonderful (and I like kids).

Can you say which of the tours were extra cost? We are doing this in march/April 24!
I think most of the tours we showed in this video had an extra cost. The city walk around Kotor was included but everything else had an added fee.
Can you share the detail of this cruise you took for this trip? It is a wonderful route

@@fiddlerrider2808 thank you so much!
Oops never mind I see you answered below!
Have a wonderful cruise!!
What about the bland, institutional food?
On the contrary, we found the food to be wonderful! The Chef’s Table was outstanding every time we went and the highlight of onboard cuisine.
@@fiddlerrider2808 Why would anyone want to eat at the same restaurant night after night? Do you do that when you are at home?
