You have to wait 5-15 min (depending on the quality of the perfume) to reach the heart-note and longer to reach the base note (the smell that lasts longest) and considering that musk (one of the things that will actually have a biological effect on your hormones) is quite a heavy note, you might not find it right away.
Also when trying a scent, and before buying a full size you MUST wear it for almost an entire month (at least through your cycle if still ovulating). A scent can be different throughout hormonal changes and it “might not be the one.” Some high end retail stores have samples available.😉
Quality has nothing to do with the development of the notes. Not all perfumes have a pyramid style note development and the speed of reaching the middle or heart notes will depend on the humidity and temperature the most.

Well, i read somewhere you can only smell 3 scents and then you really can't absorb anymore after that...I also saw a podcaster say that there is a phenomenon called "nose-blindness" when you stop smelling perfume on yourself...essentially what happens is the molecules of perfume fill up the receptors in your nasal passages...And you can't smell it but everyone else can.l think it would be very difficult to test 100's of perfumes all at once...maybe make mini trips, try three and then wait a few hours, try three more...get some samples...
