House of the Dragon is the Game of Throne's successor show based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, a history of House Targaryen set 300 years before the events in GoT. The showrunners of House of the Dragon are Ryan Condal along with battle-tested GoT veteran Miguel Sapochnik.
Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series tells the story of a turbulent period for House Targaryen, one that set sibling against sibling and dragon against dragon. The point of contention: who should rule on the Iron Throne, of course.
“If you’d like to know a bit more of what the show will be about… well, I can’t actually spill those beans,” Martin teased in his blog, “but you might want to pick up a copy of two anthologies I did with Gardner Dozois, Dangerous Women, and Rogues and then move on to ArchmaesterGyldayn’s history, Fire & Blood.”
Dangerous Women includes what press materials describe as a “35,000-word novella” by Martin called “The Princess and the Queen, or, the Blacks and the Greens,” which is “about the Dance of the Dragons, the vast civil war that tore Westeros apart nearly two centuries before the events of A Game of Thrones.”
Rogues, meanwhile, includes Martin’s story “The Rogue Prince, or, a King’s Brother,” which chronicles “the early life, adventures, misdeeds, and marriages of Prince Daemon Targaryen,” considered “one of the biggest rogues in the entire history of Ice and Fire.”
Finally, the novel Fire & Blood, released in November 2018, is the first novel of a two-part history of the Targaryens in Westeros.
“Centuries before the events of A Game of Thrones, House Targaryen - the only family of dragonlords to survive the Doom of Valyria - took up residence on Dragonstone,” according to the book’s description on the author’s site. “Fire & Blood begins their tale with the legendary Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, and goes on to recount the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold that iconic seat, all the way up to the civil war that nearly tore their dynasty apart.”
House of the Dragon will be about Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war.
About George R.R. Martin’s involvement, we know only what he stated himself. George R.R. Martin stated: "I expect to be involved in [House of the Dragons] to some extent...and, who knows, if things work out, I may even be able to script a few episodes, as I did for the first four seasons of GAME OF THRONES. But... let me make this perfectly clear... I am not taking on any scripts until I have finished and delivered WINDS OF WINTER. Winter is still coming, and WINDS remains my priority, as much as I'd love to write an episode of HOUSE."

Every time a coin is born, the Gods flip a Targaryen.
🐉🐲🔥
Every time a Targaryen is born, the gods flip a coin.
I always like the theory that, similarly to Aegon, Aerys had visions of the white walkers that drove him to madness and him screaming "burn them all" during
the sack of Kings Landing was him either seeing everyone already as white walkers or him seeing their fate if their bodies weren't burned
I could listen to Charles Dance reading the weather forecast
Agreed
Narrators: Varys, Robert Baratheon, Maester Luwin and Tywin Lannister.
I believe the three eyed raven tried to warn him about the white walkers which helped turn him mad, and maybe that's where the "burn them all" came from, he just wanted to burn the wrong enemy
The mad king and Robert rebellion both alone would make a great show
They can call Jaime Lannister "Kingslayer" all they want, but all of King's Landing owes Jaime their very
lives. He chose the people's lives over his vows.
also his sisters azz over his vows, just sayin'
@@UDel😂😂😂
That tells you the hypocrisy in humans
Every time a coin is born, the Gods flip a Targaryen.
🤣🤣🤣
And the world holds its breath.
I’ve stolen comment on nearly everyone of these videos
How Barristan doesn't have a series called "Game of Thrones: A Knight of the Relm" I do not know
linke worked, thanks
Is there a complete audio book with the GoT actors, or just clips here and there?
Every time a targaryen is flipped, the coins birth a god.
I love Bobby B narrating these.
Tywin wanted Aerys to die. Ser Barristons finest moment, what could have been…
100% Tywin wanted that but I wish Selmy didn’t save Aerys, Rhaegar would have been king..
So the actual reason Aerys was going psycho later on was because of the accident of a lord was keeping him hostage?
It was a myriad of factors…
Aerys was already sliding into madness by this point do to His wife not having giving birth to child since Rhaegar, due to the fact that she was bedded way too young, and barely survived his birth.
Aerys was at the Fire at Summerhall, which ended in tragedy & a lot of deaths in the Targaryen Family, I believe these events and the Duskendale debacle lead to him going insane faster..
Once he burned everyone alive with wildfire for their lord Crimes he got off on it cause he had been locked up so long and hadn’t any woman companionship so he got off in a different way now, (it says in the books he would get turned on while he would torture people then he would rape His queen) he felt even morally justified …
This is how history should be thaught
Barristan was built different
The Mad King🔥🔥🔥
Every time a god is flipped, the Targaryens birth a coin
Do someone know why house of the dragon isn't on Netflix
