Matt, it hasn't taken you long to make this game look easy again. So much is made of getting clubs fitted for a golfer but you just take the best cheap clubs you can find and play so well with them. The fact you did it with a split golf ball as well!. Another great video.
Man +2 going into 18 and E going into 16 is impressive as hell with 2nd hand golf clubs!I’ve followed your advice to break 90 and currently trying to break 80 and was thinking of getting new clubs. This has proved to me to save the $800+ and go practice way more and work on getting my swing speed up. Putting in work is way more important than just thinking clubs will help in some way shape or form. Waddaplaya and waddalife.

Totally agree. I now just play whatever balls are in my bag and then ones I find. Takes the stress away of standing over a ball, worried about losing it because it cost you £4!. Played today with a Dunlop 65 just for a laugh and played well. Not getting much run anyway due to waterlogged course.
Have to agree. Last week I bought 24 of the cheapest golf balls in the store ( Slazenger v300, about 50p a ball) because it’s winter and the course is covered with leaves. Didn’t lose a single ball, shot best score in ages despite 6 three-putts.
I absolutely love the verbose thought process to plan each shot, so incredibly insightful and enjoyable to watch. The now vintage Taylormade 200 series driver and woods are absolutely magic to this day. There's something about the CG that has not been replicated in newer clubs.

One of my playing partners started playing for real this year (decided that he would improve and plays at least 3 times a week) and his clubs are from 15 years ago and further. HCP from 13 to 9 this year. It amazes me in this era of "getting fitted" how its still more about course management, playing within yourself, and shortgame to score as opposed to having the newest and greatest clubs.
Gotta love the "must see sights" thing too, reminded me of National Lampoons "Holiday" with the edge of the Grand Canyon photo... 😂 and yeah, so much for fitted clubs.. waddalife

That driver is money. I owned the same one, first driver I owned that wasn't from Walmart. Bought it used with one of my first paychecks. It used to go SO damn far compared to my prior drivers, and the head didn't crack, shaft didn't peel, shaft didn't break like my priors >
This round proves how relying on technology to improve our game is unsound. Setup, balance and tempo work with the most basic clubs. Love the clean shaven look but I think the Elvis style sideburns would add to your Lordly appearance.
