Really enjoyed this round-up, giving me lots of knitting inspiration.
And I have to admit even though it is not your favorite, especially the Grapefruit Pink Lady looks gorgeous! Definitely want to make one, and oh the colour is just *chefs-kiss*

You have the best taste in designs you knit. I put on your episode and fell asleep in the showing of the second sweater for your husband. Lol
I went back where I dropped off and I am SO glad I did. I took notes and I think there are a few new patterns in my future.
You made so many beautiful knits in 2023. You should be proud of your successes.

Your year end round up two years ago was how I found your podcast and now it's one of my favorite podcasts! Your round up video is fabulous-- well-lit, you try on each item, and your love of knitting is infectious. 😻 (It also makes me laugh when you talk to your kitties when they are being naughty. Thank you for including clips and pictures of those little goofballs!)

@@skeinsofdreamsknits I did, for me it was a once in a lifetime experience. I’m still dreaming about all the flowers and colors and all the beautifully dressed people. Even I was wearing a sari, though I have to admit that the sari and I won’t become friends. Starting with putting it on and ending with the ever present fear that it might fall or unfold. But all in all it was a gorgeous experience.

I’m glad you still made this video! It’s fun to look back on all of your beautiful makes 😊 for the pink wide neck sweater, could you put just a crisp white t-shirt underneath that shows at the top for a cool layered look? I think the sweater looks really pretty and to just lean into how the shape has changed!

  • @betternpopcorn

It’s so nice to see you in more fitted sweaters this year. I think your self drafted raglans are very flattering. I’ve been watching some styling videos and they all say I should be wearing V-neck sweaters to flatter my large bust. I, like you, wear a lot of higher round necks. I’ve purchased some V-neck tees and I find I’m okay with them as long as they end high enough that I can comfortably bend over. Thanks for taking the time to try on all those sweaters. So nice to see them in action! Here’s to a year of experimenting with necklines. Deb from Florida

    • @skeinsofdreamsknits
      @skeinsofdreamsknits  Před 7 měsíci +2

I agree! I know they say v necks are better on full busts but I always worry about having the v too deep. And some how the shorter v doesn’t look at good. I have drifted more towards scoop necks and also, stopped worrying about flattering. I mean I want to be happy in my clothes!

  • @MrsKWheatley

I love a round up podcast as we get to see how a garment has held up when the flush of first love has passed. I had issues with the necklines of a couple of summer tees this year and fixed it with a crochet edging. They hold their shape now without puckering, so that might work for you ❤

yes! the ezra vest is flattering on you - all are, this is just where i started writing...at first i wasn't sure about it, but the more you talked and the more i looked at it - fabulous - you look great in it. love that color combo, i wonder what a long sleeved white and black-striped shirt would look like? it'd be cool to find one with large white stripes the size of your knitted ones, same for black...but the blue t looks primo.
oh! and the tolta t!!! and you!!! the color is fab on you. hmmm - fixing the collar - what about an tightish i-cord? and ooow, if you cut the ribbing, will you kindly film this, and your re-do? ima having a similar problem, only with a cardi.
thanks for the knit parade - have a wonderful time in india, and we'd love to see as much footage as you'd care to shoot!

What a fabulous roundup Megha! Love them all! One thing I was thinking re pilling (esp the Camijo linen/wool yarn) is that one or maybe two passes of a gleaner may do it. With new wool rugs, quite often they shed a first layer and then not again. I would imagine a lot of yarn is the same. Have fun in India! Love to see any photos or videos or stories - armchair travelling until I can go myself 😜. ❤❤❤

Your orange self-designed raglan tee and the rose 3/4-sleeve one are both gorgeous, flattering style and fit. (I’m built like you so I’m looking to see how things might look on me too! I also prefer more fitted sweaters, today so many are oversized and I don’t like that. I don’t know how to get such good fit, like you do, though.). Thanks.

It was fun to see all your beautiful knits, especially modeled. You are an amazing knitter. Another design you might enjoy is Solare, by Joji Locateli. It was one of the (five) sweaters I made last year, and I love it. It has a cabled yoke that fits over my square shoulders beautifully, but also looks gorgeous on my daughter, who is two sizes smaller than me.

I met you at woolen folk(forever rose) and that pink top does look great. I have done crotchet edges on drooping shoulders and it works great. They don’t pucker. Think you should give it a try using a backwards single crotchet also called a crab stitch.

With any cotton garments I have that stretch out I always put them in the dryer when they are about 80%dry. I check every 5 minutes to see if it's enough. Works like a charm. You do have to do this every time you wash the garment though.

Well done with your self-drafted tees! They fit you so perfectly. I would try the elastic with the Tolsta…easy to try and you can adjust how tight to make it until you are happy (or just take it out again if you don’t like it). The pink grapefruit is SO pretty…how about with a cami and blazer in the winter time?

I think your thea colman piece would look beautiful as a vest. Maybe just a styling choice. And wow, your self drafted blacker yarn sweater is very beautiful. Might be my favorite of all your knits. Great job, beautiful color. the knitting is lovely. Can I ask you what gauge it is knit in? I think I need one exactly like it. I 'm not as experienced a knitter as you. but I think I am going to buy the Tolsta Tee pattern and alter it to knit it a dozen times, short sleeve, long sleeve, stripes, a bit of lace etc, But the solid color of that Blacker sweater, with the length sleeve, the drape - it is feminine and easy and I am going to try to make one just like it.
