Kim left as The Hill wouldn’t allow her to ask Fauci about this. Kim was correct all along and honest. If you allow your reporters to cover stories with honesty it’s better for the channel and we prefer to be treated as intelligent enough to make our our minds up when presented with facts. If your presenters are wrong sometimes that’s ok too. Talk it out.

Kim was a fool. Her coverage of international affairs was excellent. But when it came to COVID-19, she fell for the right-wing conspiracy theories. Kim could have interviewed Fauci if she wanted to. She didn't think of it. It would have been a great interview. And when somebody else on Rising set up their own interview with Fauci, she wanted to crash the interview. She spent a couple of years attacking Fauci, but she never called him up to find out what he actually believed. A good reporter gives somebody a chance to respond when she attacks him.
They also fired Katie Halper for being honest about Israel

The ironic, pithy, bottom line: The US NIH (Anthony Fauci’s employer) partially funded bat coronavirus gain of function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through grants made to Eco Health Alliance which was led by Peter Daszak. As a lab leak from WIV was a possible cause of the pandemic and millions of deaths, the US had a major incentive to downplay the lab leak hypothesis. Daszak was also the only American on the team sent to Wuhan to investigate the possible lab leak, creating the appearance of a conflict of interests.
The Trump administration had a major incentive to blame it on the Chinese to avoid the responsibility for their own incompetence. If you think Mike Pompeo is telling the truth, you've got a problem.

The first time I heard it was from the lab was spring 2020…Maybe in April 2020 when Rand Paul made the claim that he heard it from reliable sources. Does anyone else remember when we first heard this? The swift and angry response to this was very weird-I couldn’t even understand why some were so adamantly opposed to what was a logical conclusion.

A biology professor said, "How did Rand Paul get through immunology in medical school?" On the one hand, you have people who don' t know anything about molecular biology, like Mike Pompeo, who are making these lab leak claims. Then you have people like Vincent Rancaniello, who teaches virology to medical students at Columbia, and sequenced the polio vaccine, who says that the lab leak "theory" doesn't make sense except as a politically motivated attack on China. Then we have you, who doesn't know much about molecular biology either. Who are you going to believe? I think your most honest answer is, "I don't know."

I’m not so sure about this. Perhaps the plan was to release it at a later time somewhere else. It seems accidental because it caused a lot of trouble and financial loss for China and the CCP wouldn’t have planned it that way. To be fair to Katherine Eban of Vanity Fair, she started publishing about details of the lab leak theory since around June of 2021. She did 3 major long form exposes over several months. If you look up her latest article on this subject, those 3 earlier articles are linked by the side of the new article.

They instead invite these grifters about lab-leak and anti-vaxxers and people who want to lock up Fauci for insane reasons not based in reality let alone legal reasoning.
Most real scientists knew the lab leak theory was the most likely explanation, especially those who work in similar labs or clinical labs. But the volume of that minority who called it ridiculous pressured people not to speak up and voice what they actually thought.

Scientists and doctors have studied hundreds of epidemics over the past 200 years, and they've seen what a natural origin looked like, long before there were any biotechnology labs. The COVID-19 epidemic looked like the SARS-1 epidemic before it, and all the other epidemics. The simplest explanation is that it's another natural epidemic like the others before we had biotechnology labs.

Can we move past the lab leak theory since most of the population now believes that Covid-19 leaked from a lab? What would be great is more conversation about how understated the harms from the vaccine have been. That would be a great topic if your bosses permit you to talk about it now.
