- Three members of the family gospel group The Nelons were killed in a plane crash in Wyoming on Friday afternoon that also claimed the lives of four others, including the pilot.
Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband, Jason Clark, and their daughter Amber Nelon Kistler were headed to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska when the crash occurred, Gaither Management Group said in a statement Saturday.
They were planning for a concert in September not knowing that God would be calling them home. It's so sad, but it's a reminder that we all need to be ready at any time
Yes the lord will be calling home his chosen ones so our soul will not be lost at some point down the road😢

This was absolutely beautiful and heartfelt. I haven't followed them like you have. I'm new to the scene but I learned a bit about them from when Jason was going through heart surgery and his dad being in the hospital. Oh and I've seen them many times on Gaither Gospel but never in person. I looked up a lot of singers from watching Gaither Gospel everybody from the Booth Brothers to Wes Hampton and Sandy Patty and many others. I was not familiar with Southern Gospel. My background was more traditional Gospel music like the Clark sisters, James Cleveland and Shirley Ceasar etc.. but I feel in love with the Gaither Gospel vocal band and then watching the concerts and homecoming series. In the end its all Gospel singing about God and His beloved, beautiful Son Jesus Christ. We all will be home with Him one day and we have no clue when. I'm just sad for this family. They had so much left to experience down here like their first grandchild. I was in shock when I read about it on the Gaithers statement. I just don't understand. We never will understand it. I'm praying for Autumn. I can't even imagine the pain she is going through and having a baby on top of it. Anyway I just wanted to respond to your beautiful post.

I live about 40 miles away from where the plane crashed. We were were following the scanners listening to the local authorities looking for the plane and werepraying for a good outcome but not to be. Prayers for all the family and friends of these wonderful folks.
Where did it crash? I only know they were headed to Alaska.. I live about 40 miles from where they lived in Carrollton Ga.

They are dead, not singing in heaven. In Genesis 2:7, we learn that mankind is NOT immortal. We are dust and subject to death. The Bible says "And the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul". it is also written in Ezekiel 18:20 "The soul that sinners, it shall die ..., meaning without breath, man is dead" Ecclesiastes 9:5 also state "For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more reward for the memory of them is forgotten. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-16 "For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep (meaning dead). For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

I just found out about this last night. What a shock? How sad , I remember when I started listening to the Nelon’s, Rex had such a beautiful voice. So sorry for the family, for our gospel family, they will be missed. We never know the hour, minute or second when we will be called home. ❤❤❤❤

I told my father that this might be worse than the Blackwood crash as this essentially is the end of the group. The Blackwoods lost two members, but this was almost everybody.

These wonderful singers for our Lord had no idea that they would be stepping into eternity when they boarded that plane. And scripture tells us we are to rejoice at their home-going, even though that may be hard to do right now. Prayers for this daughter that was left behind as she carries this precious child to birth.

Dear Autumn, Only heard this on the news here in Hudson Valley New York and I've flown on a private plane with my friend so many times, but always reluctant and stopped 12 years ago. By the grace of God you have a beautiful baby on the way and will help you with 'a hole in your heart'. I was shocked to hear about this today. Heaven’s choir just got a little bit more powerful and precious. Yes, noticed the same thing. The other three are smiling, joyful, happy, anticipating all that is to come, and Autumn seems very subdued and even sad. Its very strange. Maybe that's just her personality. I didn't know of this group at all until this tragedy. But I'm so very sad for the remaining family and friends.

the pilot and his wife (The Haynie's) loss their 42 year old daughter Larissa Strawn on July 15th 2024!!!and her funeral was July 19 2024!!!!They also loss their son Jared before that. Perhaps that's why the blonde on the left is so detached from the others. She's sad and it shows. No one has had time to grieve and they all continued life as if nothing tragic had just happened a week before their own demise. That makes this story all the more tragic. 😢😢😢😢

It’s sad this was the last video made and autumn you have that unhappy look on your face almost the whole time. That’s why it’s important to treat every moment like it’s our last. I can imagine how you’re feeling at this moment.

Yes Nathan made a video right before taking off after fueling.... Todd, Kelly brother talk to her... few minutes later Kelly asked Todd where we're they? Todd was tracking them.
Kelly said so u know where we will be. Minutes u could hear them singing on one of there phones. As they went down.
This little after 3 pm. Autumn had already landed was waiting with Bill Gaither. When Autumn, Todd,Alan git the call plane went down in remote area causing horrible fire. It took a while to ger equipment get to them. Report said they passed on impact oh how I pray they did. Nit suffered.
They were found, what personal effects, phones this how last video was posted.

Autumn and Todd has Her mom farm to look after, amber children, plus sge 4 months. So please pray for her, kids, Todd. Gaither were there family as well it a very much shock to all them waiting to sail on a gospel cruise. Instead Bill had to call meeting to give the news...
