    I don't think the two answers are that much different. It all comes down to that they should do their own mission and not be concerned about irrelevant topics or opinions.

    In my interpretation, The Rebbe answered both questions to both people in similar fashion, Rebbe was merely pointing out the differences of the the questioners, two different people with two priorities. For the scientist , it was his job, his income to help search for extra-terrestrial life. for the young student, it was his priority to care for terrestrial life.

    If there is life in other places in space it won't be human. We are the sum total of all prior events that happened. Chances of that happening elsewhere is impossible. While the Torah says nothing about there not being life elsewhere, it also doesn't say there is life elsewhere either.
    'The Rebbe' demonstrated his wisdom by crafting a unique answer based on the individual rather than the question, which was the same. All of us are unique individuals, applying Torah to our lives is a personal journey. Help is always available if we have questions.

    Extraterrestrial means " not from earth ". Angels are not from earth. So yes, according to the bible, extraterrestrials exist.
