I watched him pass for 730 yards against New Hampshire. I have known he was crazy talented from the moment he took the field. At 6'0", he didn't get the looks he needed to make the impression on coaches he could have. But now that people have seen on national television what I have had to joy of seeing many times in person, perhaps some coaches might remember another Qb who is 6'0" tall and has passed for over 80,000 yards! Oh, and he happens to be playing Tom Brady next! Geaux Saints!

Well, its now December of 2021 and Taylor has led the WFT back from a 2-6 start to 6-6 and currently holding the 6th seed in the NFC. There’s a lot of football left in this season, but the coaches and players believe they have a chance to win any game they play with him at QB.

Played against him when he was at Collins Hill. Dude wrecked us. I didn't know the bit about his father. So heartbreaking but it showed the stuff Taylor is made of when he continued on to set records. He had ups and downs but continued to grind and once he got his opportunity, he truly seized it. If he's not a starter, he's clearly a good backup QB that should have a job for the next 10 some odd years.

He reminded me of Tony Romo with his escapability in the pocket and his ability to throw accurately while improvising. Only 6'0" tall and doesn't appear to have an NFL arm though. I think that'll limit him. He deserves a shot though. Others have been successful with bigger limitations.

Guy played with heart. He had nothing to lose and everything to gain. He looked comfortable in his only start for the football team. He was playing against a legend and played well. I would take him over Kirk "Guaranteed check down" Cousins. To bad the Vikings didn't see the talent.

As a Vikings fan I was very disappointed when he cut his foot around the same time Teddy got hurt. I knew Taylor blew his chance, you could see that he had that "it" factor, like Kyle Sloter, but more polished and shorter. Us Vikings fans were enamored with third string guys for a while, MBT, Heinicke, then Sloter.

When I saw Heinicke on the Panthers a few seasons ago we still had Cam, so I thought no way he would see the field. After watching him in pre-season though, I thought he could've given Cam a real run for his money. Unfortunately, we cut him shortly after and went with Kyle Allen. Didn't work out so great.

  • @jimbo92107

I followed him when he was a developmental prospect for the Vikings. Heinicke had the same level of prospect promise as Brad Johnson (eventual starter) until he suffered a severe laceration of his ankle after kicking out a window at his dwelling. The injury screwed up his mobility for a couple years, which lost him his chance in Minnesota. Heinicke competes like hell on every play, scrambles with a purpose, and can throw the ball into small windows, something very few QB's can do. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see him succeed as an NFL starter.
