this was actually the hardest mission for me in vice city not the toy helicopter lol

Agreed, the game gives Tommy driving the Sentinel and hil driving the sabre turbo which is the fastest vehicle in the game

the toy helicopter mission is literally one of the easiest missions

The trick is to get a head of him early in the race and he backs way off and then just drive casually avoiding the obvious cop cars trying to run into you and then make that last turn to the finish line next to the tree instead of driving on the road.
@@james17raider22 yeah but there is some RNG involved sometimes he messes up and crashes but other times mans really good at handling it also depends on how the cars spawn on streets
@@varadsalunkhe9008 if you play through a couple times you can see the spots where those cars spawn I to crash into you and that’s where you slow down and get through.
All of this bullshit only for the guy to straight up die before doing anything in the heist.
Cam also done nothing to open the safe, you only needed manager to open the safe so i let him killed at the heist :)

ah yes, the mission where your opponent has faster acceleration n top speed alongside cops that they will sabotage you-
forgot to mention that theres traffic to avoid
Except even at the start of the race it's shown that the Sentinel ends up catching up to his Sabre Turbo. The cops tend to appear in scripted spots but are still easily avoidable, Hillary crashes into a bunch of stuff, and the traffic is no harder to avoid than regular freeroam, if not easier (scripted cars take up traffic spawn slots, so the streets are emptier on all versions).
U forgot that also his car have better handling and nonslide
I played years ago on PC. There was a file you can edit so that you can change what car Hilary has. I gave him the golf cart and gave myself the Sabre Turbo.
I would've just had Rosenberg be the driver. The intro showed he can drive just fine.

Quick tips...
On the first turn, try and spin him around. The beginning is the most important part. If you can get him spun around and get in first it is smooth sailing. It is hard to catch up to him later in the mission. SPIN HIM AROUND AT THE FIRST TURN. It will work. Don't shoot his tires out. Don't try and race him. This mission isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

An interesting story. I had attempted this mission over 20 times and failed miserably. But one time, I was just creating random mayhem, amassed 5 stars when I suddenly felt like giving this mission another try. But when the race started (01:33), a SWAT vehicle crashed into Hillary's car and pulled over next to me. I think it was a glitch, but Hillary was nowhere to be found after that! Maybe they crashed him out of the game. I quickly typed 'Leave me alone' and leisurely drove to the finish line. Best memory😂❤

This mission seems so much easier than on the original PS2. It seems every mission on the PS2 was much harder than the definitive edition.
They did cut many corners with later versions of the game

I remember once interestingly on the original version I got lucky doing this mission. Hilary bumped another car and drove straight up the parking lot ramp at 2:05. Beat the mission very easily.

This was hard on the original and now I completed it on the remaster
I consider this the most useless or worst mission in Vice City. If I want to find the best driver for a heist, why I have to be a better driver than him? Not to mention the difficulty by having a slow car to beat his fast car in a race. Then, we used a taxi for the heist getaway and Hill died in the end.
I think back then, R* was just trying to mess players with this bad written scripts.

It’s definitely easier in the remaster, as are a lot of the missions.
Must have taken me 10-15 attempts originally, did it first time this time. Same with Demolition Man.

I was able to spawn the Sabre Turbo and switched to it ASAP and managed to win the race

If anyone struggles with this mission, a tip I used back in the day (still works)…get a fast car (banshee, infernus, whatever) and park it alongside the road at the police station, then go trigger the mission. Drive your car up to the one you parked after the race starts, quickly switch to the fast car…then you’ll be able to catch up and overtake Hilary pretty easily.
Btw , I did this mission like 10000 times and couldn’t beat it. I took your advice and got it in the first try ! Thank you !!!!!!!

I see they made it easy in the remaster. It took me like 50 tries when I played this original game.
50 tries….. I’m surprised your temper survived that much, my temper couldn’t even survive after 10-20 tries, I’d blame the npc’s for having side mirrors and windows but they can’t even look at them LMAOOOO, and I’d punch the wall after 15 tries

This mission is a breeze with modern controls. I swear the only reason I'd pass it on the PS2 version was because I'd always park an Infernus near the police station and drive that instead

You must acquire the sunshine autos asset
you must aquiere sunshine autos and then complete the import and export lists so then you will unlock that nice and smoth sabre turbo wich is useful in races

There's an special vehicle which is the Sabre Turbo,it's immune to bullets,explosions and fire
How to get it:
PS2-only:at the start of the race,go to the grass patch with the adrealine pill,then wait 2 minutes. (Reccomended to have an sniper rifle or m4 or kruger) Snipe hilary,then push his car to the vercetti garage with your body or an different car.
Congrats,you now have an BP-EP-FP sabre turbo!
Pc and other versions:if you try the method for PS2,you get an normal sabre turbo.
Instead,get an tank (somehow) and put it in the vercetti garage,then walk all the way to the mission,then get the tank and destroy hilary's car.
Now this is where it gets hard:you have to push the vehicle all the way to an garage,prefereably the vercetti mansion one,as it is the nearest.
After the garage opens,push the vehicle strongly with the tank and close the garage.
The vehicle's wreck/corpse can dissapier before you put it in a garage,the strategy is to keep looking at the sabre turbo and push it.
Congrats,now you have an bp+ep+fp sabre turbo!

this was the only time I saw Hillary making a mistake during the race
Early on in the race, you can pick up the PCJ from where you start the Playground side mission. Use it for the rest of the race, but good luck trying not to fail from bike.

That was hardest mission for me when i first played GTA VC.
Just took me about 40 minutes to pass this mission. I had to be Conservative by going easy on the gas when turning, and the keeping him close, and finally striking when he crashed

i struggled with this mission for soo long on ps2 even after looking up strategies the only one that worked that I got luck on is ramming the car at the right time into the parking garage spiral as the ai gets stuck in there if you can pull it off

This and Messing With The Man were the hardest missions years ago. Granted, they made Messing With The Man easier in this (needed), but they could've omitted this mission from the game completely.
He dies in the next mission anyway.
Personally this is way more harder than that mission from GTA San Andreas with the RC fuel.
This mission took me like 2 weeks to beat lol and it was thanks to some glitch that happened and he got stuck on the billboard sign at 2:33

Honestly, even playing the original, I found this mission super easy, on my second go I beat Hilary by shoving his car to the side and getting a big distance over him

I never had any issues with this mission because he constantly crashes his car I did a pit maneuver that got him permanently stuck in the pizza ally way.

I have been playing the definitive edition. For the first time ever I passed it in one try. Because I got lucky. There were two cop cars that side swiped Hilary waaay off track early.

You defeat the best driver in the city to hire him for a heist. Defeating him makes you the beet driver already! 💀

This mission is impossible on PS2. Once H is a little ahead of you he’s unstoppable because traffic won’t spawn in front of him. It will spawn in front of YOU.
I’m playing this for the first time right now and holy shit I hate this mission. I’ve failed 3 times at the last bridge right before the end because of those 2 cops ramming me into the grass to the right of it.
Edit: of course my next attempt after righting this only the 2 cops at the end showed up and it was easy
