    Hi everyone ! Bonjour à tous ! This pattern works best with fabrics that have a 20% elasticity percentage. If you wish, you can prepare several different patterns for different elasticities, specially if you wish to create blocs for intensive production. I only do one of a kind custom made garments, so I'd rather use this pattern and then adjust it during the fitting session taking into account the fabric, the elasticity, the preference of the client fit-wise, the cut and ease required at the moment, etc. Enjoy ! Love xx Romy.

    Hi Romy. This tutorial was Fantastic! Thank you very much. Your teaching style and explanations were so clear and I appreciated the clear instructions that explained why you were taking certain steps. I love that you included pointers on final fitting adjustments as well.

    What an awesome tutorial! I've done a fair amount of sewing from patterns, but I've never really understood the fitting part. Thanks so much! I'm going to try a midi skirt with slits on the sides.

      @@RomyStanZakStudio Do you make a waistband? Also, how would you finish the hem using knits?

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, this is the basic pattern. Then you can add any kind of waistband you fancy. To work with knits it’s very useful to have a serger 😉 With the sewing machine though, you can use all the stretch stitches. If your machine doesn’t have them, you can use a narrow zigzag. Also you can hem with a double needle, that’s the best look ! And of course, hand stitching your hem is an option (I love it but it’s time consuming). Voilà ! Hope that helps.

    Do you always check the balance of a garment for every new pattern that you make and is it very necessary?

      Yes I do if there is modifications/alterations to be made to the original pattern I drafted. Happy sewing 🌸🍃✂️

    Hi! I just wanted to ask you which measurements are needed to do the skirt block. I have my hip measurement of 96cm. So does that mean I need to use larger paper or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

    • @RomyStanZakStudio
      @RomyStanZakStudio  Před 3 lety

      The paper you will need should be as long as you wish your skirt to be + about 20 cms. For the width, you can devide your hip measurements by 2 and add about 20 cms as well. Hope that helps 🌸✂️
