That girls is pure talent no auto tune just like the Bee Gees world class singers.
Incredible voices!
@@generationgapreacts , new subscriber! Great reactions! Mom, you really ought to let your daughter watch Elvis Presley's live performance of You've Lost That Loving Feeling! I'm sure it will blow her away! Elvis and Bill Medley were very good friends by the way. Thank you, and it's great to see so many young people nowadays "rediscovering" the music of "my days"!

Cher’s voice
A generation raised on autotune. It wasn't invented until 1997. These young men had no need for gimmicks. They sang from their hearts and souls.
1. Million times better than the crap of today
Bobby and Bills voices compliment each other and they blend them so perfectly to create such a great and wonderful sound!! beautiful I would have thought with two great voices they would have had more hits than they have ?
Bobby is a tenor with a marvelous range and Bill has a wonderful true baritone! This is an odd combination but their harmony is flawless!
many think they were brothers but they're not
It's called Blue eyed soul!
Bill Medley's voice was incredible, he and Bobby harmonized like no one else.
I like all of your comments and reactions, but if you really want to hear the versatility of Bobby's voice, you have to listen to the song " I Believe"....you will not regret it...
TMI listed this song as the number 1 song of the 20th century.
That is why they are called Blue Eyed Soul.
There's a reason they call themselves The righteous Brothers.
Another vote for Unchained Melody, one of the greatest live vocal performances. Ever.
Agreed. "Righteous Brothers -- Unchained Melody (Live, 1965)"
This great song was the #1 requested song to radio stations in the 20th century. Had many great songs. Unchained Melody, Soul and Inspiration, For once in my Life. They were on fire doing The Night Time is the Right Time and Little Lupe Lu. Bill is still touring at age 82 but with Bucky Heard. Sadly Bobby Hatfield passed in 2003. Best success on yr channel
I think it was the most played song.
@@nkcbrazil either is wonderful.
not the v#1 requested song on radio, sorry.
It’s the #1 played song of the 20th century. Not so much requested. But the accomplishment stands for itself
@@jonathancadorin9714 not exactly
It's the most played POP song of the 20th century, but It's a Small World is the most played song of the 20th century of all genres combined!
One small fact that not everone knows is who one of the backup singers is. None other that Cher. The duo was known as "Blue Eyed Soul".
This song is the “Most Played/Aired” song of the 20th Century. Another “fun fact”, one of those girls in the background Choir is “Cher” at an early age. The whole thing was Produced by the Famous Phil specter and his “Wall of Sound”….. SanJoséBob
Yes, that was taped in 1964, before colors were invented in 1965. It was a drab existence, but we didn't realize how drab it was until colors were invented early in 1965. 😃
Fun fact: Phil Spector produced this video. Phil's assistant at that time was one Salvatore Bono who included his girlfriend Cherlyn Sarcassian in the choir. She later became famous as Cher.
Just to clarify: Spector didn't produce this video. This video is taken from the TV show Shindig. He was a record producer, not a TV producer. Someone has replaced the live audio with the studio recording. The actual live performance is available on CZcams complete with screaming girls! One other thing, Cher's name is spelled Sarkisian.
Many of today's singers rely on electronics and (in my opinion) over production. In this era, 50's, 60's, there were singers. These men are a fine example of music, from my youth, and are "SINGERS".
This song with both brothers makes every woman go a little weak in the knees every time they sing wow ohh wow, and Bobby's Unchained Melody is a timeless romantic dream of a song and performance. I love their soul, their harmony, and how well they sing together. They had experimented with different names until one night doing a gig near a military base someone stood up at the end of their set and yelled, "That's righteous brother!" The rest was history. They were great as solo performers, and fabulous as a duo!
Well said! 😊
This was the most requested song in the 20th century, according to BMI!!!
For more Bill Medley's baritone check the golden globe awarded "The Time of My Life" from the movie DIRTY DANCING a duet with Jennifer Warnes.
I had no idea that was Bill!
That’s when music was good and just pure talent
The most played record on radio in the 20th century
Another get song from them is "Your My Soul and Inspiration " show cases both of their voices.
What a beautiful song! And they are the most talented singers ever! If you think this is great, you should hear it without interruptions.
Supposedly this song has been played on radio more that any other song in history.
Unchained Melody a have to listen. Jim
Coming Thursday!
That song is 58 years old !!! Oldie but goodie back when men knew they were men, dressed nicely as men and sang as men, no fire works flashing lights nobody beating the hell out of a set of drums, no auto tuned voices, no smoke or fire, just good clean clear singing !!! That is what the good old days were all about, and I am an old guy that lived those days !!! thanks for the react !!
"Baby baby I'd get down on my knees for you." Gets ya every time.
Mom, I hope you're also going to introduce her to the Everly Brothers. 😊
Have you ever noticed back in the day that the artist do more with less. Just incredible music and more focus.
Gorgeous reaction ladies!! 😍 👌👌❤️💯❤️💯 React to Elvis Predleys 1970 live Vegas "Just Pretend" 🙏 please 😊 😉 🙏
I was a teen when this song was released and it sounds as good today as it did back then. The great duo of all time. Just a fact, this was the most played song on radio and tv. The most played song of the 20th Century. Please react to Unchained Melody. Covered by over 670 singers but Bobby Hatfield is the gold standard. Live performance which was performed on the Andy Williams show. Also Soul and Inspiration another #1 hit. Also Rock and Roll Heaven which was there tribute song to stars that have passed. You can tell I’m a bit fan of the Righteous Brothers lol. Great music never gets old. Thank you
Yes you are a fan! We will definitely do Unchained Melody tomorrow and Soul & Inspiration next week :)
Agreed. "Righteous Brothers -- Unchained Melody (Live, 1965)"
It was actually released in late 1964 but became a hit in 1965.
Ladies, You have just been blessed by The Righteous Brothers' "Thunder & Lightning!!!" Bill Medley (Deep Baritone voice) is "Thunder" and Bobby Hatfield (R.I.P.) (High Tenor voice) is "Lightning." They sing amazing individually and as a dynamic duo...Their voices just go perfectly together like "Peanut Butter & Jelly," "Macaroni & Cheese," "Fish & Chips," "Burgers & Fries," "Biscuits & Gravy," "Corned Beef & Cabbage," "Shrimp & Grits," "Rice & Beans," "Chips & Salsa," "Cake & Ice Cream," "Milk & Cookies, "Coffee & Donuts," etc. You get the picture and it's easy to see why they are considered to be one of the greatest duos of all time...Hands down!!! Mic-Drop!!! 🎤
Saw these guys live in Atlanta about 30 years ago and it was something! They’re incredible talents.
One of the best songs ever. Period.
Absolutely!
"Unchained Melody" is a great one too! My mom introduced me to that song because it was her favorite!
Agreed. "Righteous Brothers -- Unchained Melody (Live, 1965)"
Joining the crowd in calling for "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers - one of the most popular songs of all time!
Coming tomorrow!
Another great sung from the sixties, we had the best music, bar none.
This video gave me that loving feeling. You ladies are great and may I add spectacularly beautiful.
Both Elvis Presley and The Beatles knew that they couldn't touch the Righteous Brothers in vocal accomplishment. This production was considered the finest of Phil Spector's 'Wall of Sound', often imitated by other producers.
Their music was called "blue-eyed soul". These two were top of the tree.
Listen to The Righteous Brothers on the Ed Sullivan show singing You'll Never Walk Alone
It has been said that Cher was one of the backing singers before she hit the big time.
Phil Spector's "Wall of Noise" production technique, many hits produced in the sixties used his warped genius.
You´ve Lost That Feelin is a song written by Phil Spector, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
The single ranked No.5 in Billboard Top 100 (1965) The song has been covered successful by
numerous artists. In 1965, Cilla Black´s recording reached No.2 in the UK Singles Chart.
Hall and Oates reached No.12 on the Us Hot 100 (1980).
Thanks! For a great. The Righteous Brothers Reaction video! 🙂
Thanks for watching Mats! Love learning new info on these artists and songs :)
Cher was one of Phil Spector's background singer and was probably one on this film. He introduced the wall of sound which if he needed 1 violine he had 4 or 5 if needed 5 background singers he had 15 or 20 He felt that every instrument had its own sound and by putting several together you got a truer sound.
@@A-whiter-shade-of-pale Yup, Cher is there on our far right top row of singers.
Not sure but I believe that was Phil Specter's production bringing that 'wall of sound" that really blows everybody away.
Thank you girls for featuring one of thee greatest songs of all time.
"We had..." Both voices, perfectly pitched, starting in the same instant, sheer talent, no autotune, no hours at the mixing desk, relatively primitive microphones - live performance at its finest is the Righteous Brothers' gift to the world. This is no simulation, it's enormous talent and hard work. It's a delight to see your reaction, thank you ladies.
Blue eyed soul music.
Bobby Hatfield (RIP) and Bill Medley. Truly talented singers.
A proper song that stands the test of time and will still be played from now until the final day of the earth's existence.
As someone else has mentioned in the comments below, Soul and Inspiration is also a good track by them that isn't heard very often nowadays. It is worth a listen if you haven't already done so.
As you both have noted, Bill Medley is able to hit very low notes and the two of them harmonise excellently. But I have often thought that in today's musical world if he was just starting out he might well not make it because he is quite awkward in his movements and stage presence. Thankfully, in those days your actual ability was regarded as more important than other superficial (and unimportant) factors.
Most played song of the 20th Century. 8 million plays.
Rightfully so! Amazing song
their soulful voices - exactly why they were referred to as "blue-eyed soul". Us ladies of this time would stop whatever we were doing and just listen to these guys sing - melted our hearts. oh, were we ever serenaded!!
This song was rated the most listened to in the 20th century by BMI. Been listening to these guys since the 60s.
Unchained Melody!!
The best of "Blue eyed soul".
Blue-eyed soul... it don't get any better. Please do more of these two "Brothers". Thank you. ❤☮🙏
Just a pure classic
Bill Medley is the baritone and Bobby Hatfield is the tenor. I was in the seventh grade when this song was released. I still love it. I'm 70!
Bobby Hatfield "Somertime". You will be glad you listened!
Check out Unchained Melody (live 1965 version).
This song by the great Righteous Brothers 'Bobby Hatfield' and 'Bill Medley' is in 'The Guinness Book of World Records' as the most played song in the history of radio.
The most played song on the radio in the twentieth century
that song is as great today as it was in 1965 and will continue to last, it is just that good.
Gentlemen, if you take nothing else away from this reaction make it this. Feature The Righteous Brothers in your date night playlist. If you don't you are doing it wrong.
"I need your love" 'so bring it on back!'
Yeah. It would be nice to turn a switch or something.
BMI is a German company that tracks all plays of a song by copyright approvals counts all plays on radio tv or in the malls, this song was the most played song of the 20th century.
From a bye gone era, awesome, iconic, historic, never to be repeated or duplicated. The 60s is the greatest era in music. The Righteous Brothers in there prime. Unforgettable
This was my breakup song in High School. Barbara Jo definitely Lost That Loving Feeling !
Tower Requesting fly by to one of my all-time fav tunes!
First time wasn't pretty I crashed and burned, 2nd I don't know yet, but its looking good so far!
Best of the Best, @ The Righteous Brothers!🤘
Such a great reaction to this all time great song!
You ladies are sweet. I suggest Bobby Hatfield singing Summertime, he’s off the charts all over the place that we saw a hint of in Unchained Melody and in this song. 😀❤️
great harmony between the baritone of Bill Medley and the 3 octave tenor of Bobby Hatfield (RIP). They are not brothers. The story goes that, before they became well known, something like this: they were singing at a club and someone commented (yelled) that their singing was "righteous, brothers" - hence the name. Often referred to as "blue-eyed soul" as they obviously sing with such soul in their voices. This is a live performance and before there was auto-tune or other computer gizmos - just pure talent. Can't wait for your reactions to: Unchained Melody (Hatfield's solo - Medley on piano), and Soul & Inspiration (focus on Medley).
Both songs coming soon
Regarding Unchained Melody, Bill is on piano and produced the studio recording. (Spector took credit when it became a hit.) For all the live performances (the Andy Williams show, please), he is basically audience like everybody else. Every rendition is fabulous. P.S. Bobby's range is over 3 octaves...no one knows how high he could actually go. Yes, audience members named them, Marines from the El Toro Marine base in Southern California. Calling them Righteous Brothers was an on going thing, not a 1-time evident.
I remember riding around in a Thunderbird with a beautiful girl and listening to this wonderful song, back in the day.
I referred to them as the Blue Eyed Brothers of Soul on my radio show.
You need to watch Phil Collins “In the air tonight” the live version, first farewell tour, especially when he gets to the drums. Just came across your videos. Great taste in music.
Alfie Bass mimed to this song way back. It was great.
In the UK, two versions of this song were No 1 and No 2 in the charts, AT THE SAME TIME back in '64. This version was No 1
This is why our generation had the best music ever. Nothing like it before and nothing like it ever again.
Back in the day we were leaving their show and I said the applause was deafening and she said that the applause was loud but all the panties hitting the stage was louder lol maybe lol
That my friends, is singing....
I love your reviews. They bring back so many memories. I enjoyed your Bee Gees reviews but got to thinking. Only Barry remains today from that wonderful group. And here, we must say goodbye to Bobby Hatfield, Bill Medley's singing partner. These two probably had a lot to do with our current world population. Their music soothed a lot of tender souls.
You've heard that voice at the end of the movie "Dirty Dancing" "I've Had the Time of My Life."
I just love your beautiful daughters reaction to our music Love it 🥰
Congratulations... You move me
Played on American radio over 8,000 000 times in 35 years made this the #1 song of the 20th century. I can't imagine what the worldwide numbers were, but I get a feeling it's the #1 song on youtube reactions!
Check out Unchained Melody a solo by Bobby Hatfield (tenor) Bill Medley is the bass. Also Cher is one of the girls in the background
We definitely will!
You should check out Soul and Inspiration by the Righteous Brothers.
This was the most played song in the 20TH century
Great reaction! A good melody from the American songbook.
“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary.
“You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century
"Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance.
Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers.
In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
blue eyed soul at it's best need to listen to "ebb tide " now
Just noticed this channel and will subscribe - keep the views going with the Gen Gap!
Thank you!
You Girls are amazing together
This was rated the most played song inn the 20th century
om: "Been there, love that". Daughter: "Wow!" Great !
not sure if anyone has mentioned, but Cher was one of the choir singers in the background toward the end.
Cher is one of the backup singers on this.
You were looking for the correct word for how women want men to treat them... 'Romancing' wasn't sufficient, and 'worship' was a little too much, but what came to my mind was 'cherish'.
Then I realized you two should do a reaction to "Cherish" by the group The Association.
This was an amazing combo. Wow!
