    One of the ways to get the long tire bumper fully seated is to leave the interior trim piece off during installation. You can then use a pair of pliers to grab the threaded tip of the bumper and pull it until is literally pops in and becomes fully seated. Using a little glass cleaner on the threaded tip of the large bumper does also help a little.

    • @TylerPotter

    How thick are spacers in the relo kit? How much does the tire carrier rise from stock position?
    Trying to figure out how much the spare tire carrier will rise and how much it will be pushed out from tailgate due to spacers...
    Also, my JLUR came with Mopar Tailgate Reinforcement so i'm just wanting to raise my spare a bit after getting 35s. Do I need to install any additional spacers since my setup has spacers already to fit spare tire carrier with tailgate reinforcement offset?

    • @TylerPotter
      @TylerPotter  Před 2 lety

      There are 2 kits or parts installed in this video. Since you already have the reinforcement you would just need to tire carrier bracket parts. I think I raises the tire carrier around 1.5-2in to help clear the larger tires. No you normally would not need to add any more spacers but might need to adjust the tire rubber stops accordingly, the kit comes with new longer tire bumpers. Thanks for the view!

    Question for you Tyler or anyone else.. I had the dealer install this on my 2021 JL and the backup sensors are going off, they say it's the tire causing it and claimed to not be their issue. I don't buy this expanation. I bought the jeep with added 35s and this tire rack into the deal. I think they messed up the installation somehow, maybe the tire is sticking out too much or something. Did this jeep have this issue? anyone else see this issue? Nice video.. looks fairly easy and maybe I can fix this myself.

    • @TylerPotter
      @TylerPotter  Před 2 lety

      It seems to be very hit-and-miss on which jeeps will get angry about the tire sticking out further, it seems like the ones with after market wheels with more backspacing or offset that stick out further will be more likely to have the issue. We have been told forever ago that there was going to be a software update to fix the park sensor issue but as of now I have yet to see the software update become available. Thanks for the view!

      The hinges aren't the issue, there is nothing from the factory connecting the actual tire carrier bracket to the hinges so all of the tire and wheels weight is hanging off of the threaded holes in the tailgate, this ties the tire carrier into the hinges with the nice bracket so the actual tailgate isn't holding the weight anymore.
