FINALLY someone who reviews the base Model with the RTX 2060! Thank you!
I agree some you tubers forget that not everyone is trying to drop 3k on a laptop lmfaooaooaaoo
Better check Techlisa review, more details plus some perfomance test
Love it too, selling cheaper then macbook pro 16, at amazon
It’s a great machine man!
I spent 4 hours finding a good base model review.
So let me get this straight. He's objective, sets realistic expectations, and doesn't hyper focus on things that are preference? AND he talked about price to performance as a legitimate point?? Sir, I weep at not finding your channel sooner.
very cringeyy
@Heitzch yea it’s for his own good
Nichael, that was an intelligent, funny comment. 😅 Ignore the black clouds. Their only purpose in life is to rain negativity.
@@jesuschristiscallingyou953 u should too
The last time I commented here, was about 2 years ago. When the dji spark was released. I saw your unboxing of it. Good to be back.
Love the video man ! Just ordered mine the other day for school, and bro let’s play wow classic !!
Awesome video man, I really love your vibe! You've convinced me to get this laptop haha
i literally just searched for Razer Blade 15 2020 long term review and here is our man with a video !
Nice! Hope it was useful!
It was , good work man 👍🏻
Thank you so much for more Razer content can’t get enough of it
Great content! I continue enjoying your videos. I have noticed that in previous videos you have used Final Cut Pro on MacOS, and Adobe Premiere on Windows X. In this video you use Davinci Resolve. Which one is your preference on the windows platform?
yes please. I too am looking for that same cover you have
That was some fun presentation to watch. Like your style haha.
I ended up buying the 2020 Blade 15 Advanced with an RTX 2080 Super MaxQ, 4k OLED display, upgraded to 64Gb of RAM, 1Tb storage drive, and I wiped Windows for Linux (specifically Pop_OS).
The reason I didn't go for the 1080p 300Hz refresh rate display was because I write software all day (software engineer) and need to read text on a screen for hours on end. The 1080p was a touch rougher on my eyes than the 4K OLED model. The 4K OLED model just looks so beautiful. The panel is literally perfect for anyone who spends more time reading than gaming.
I barely ever game anymore. So I couldn't justify the refresh rate when I know the ease of reading on my eyes is more important for my job.
But yes, it's an amazing laptop and I couldn't have gotten something more perfect for my needs. Portable enough to be easy to move around. Powerful enough to really push games (yes, even at 4k), and plenty of storage performance. It's perfect for my purposes.
CAN YOU SHARE the RAM SPECIFICATIONS THAT YOU UPGRADED ONE?
hey dude, quick question. So I have the 2020 Blade 15 just like you. I got it a couple months ago and I absolutely love it. I agree with the good and bad things you mentioned on your video. My question is, is the battery on your unit as shitty as mine? that is the ONE thing I don’t like about it. I have to undervolt and disable a bunch of things in order to get 2+ hours on battery. That really really bugs me. I’m just wondering if you have any tips on saving battery life or if you could share your experience in that area. I figured you would since you started the video with the Blade showing the red light, but after seeing the video I realized you didn’t talk about it. If you could respond, I would highly appreciate it. Also, I don’t really know who you are but I really enjoyed this video, so you earned yourself a subscriber today!
I’m a preacher and someone said to me the other day ‘wow Drew, you make up a lot of words’
Ha! I bet!
All words were initially made up by someone. No one gets to be an arbiter in my opinion. 😅 I fully support word-making. It's a totally legit thing to do.
I just got this a few weeks ago, and I'm absolutely IN LOVE with it
Hi does your laptop still functioning great?
@@tayataya765 I have the same question :D I am thinking of buying the 2020 edition now
@@koushiksen4046 i bought the 15 blade base with rtx 2070 and still runs great. Ive had this laptop for almost 1 year and not one single issue. I will say though, ive only played a total of 50 - 100 hours of games on this machine. ive ran cod cold war, csgo, valorant.
The finger print smudge was a major issue for me too which was why I took mine back and got the Mercury white base model. I’m loving it so far.
What is the name
Could you do a late 2020 comparison video between this, the XPS 15 9500, and maybe also an M1 MacBook? Like a buying guide/comparison. I generally know a lot about computers, but I love your videos and your reviews, and I’m shopping around for a good college laptop for starting in 2021.
Thx for the video. So, what about XPS vs Razor comparison video? as you used both of them for a while.
Nice Review! Im looking for an home Office device thats not too clunky, comes with ports and can game on the side.
Im between this one and the Alienware m15 R3, maybe you can do a Video on it aswell? 😬
Ive owned my Razer Blade 15 Advanced RTX2070 (mid 2019) for just over a year now...and I love it. Not a single issue. My next laptop will be a Razer Blade 15 as well. I cant say enough good things about it.
Hi - Great review
where did you get the carbon fiber skin thanks?
Great video review, thanks - made me go and buy one!
That’s the video I needed! I read a lot of reviews online and they say that the fan don’t go out even when there is no heavy task. Is that true or do do you had no issues with this laptop?
That seemed to always happen to me
As always, another fantastic review video!
Good stuff as always... Considering a windows workflow as well.... This helps give me more evidence that I should
Thanks so much! I’m really enjoying using windows.
Hi Gary! Any updates with this? Is it still holding up well without issues?
love your review MAN
I have a question and that is that some reviewer say that the palm rest area get too hot Is this true
??
I just ordered this for motion design work and this is exactly the kind of confirmation bias I need lol
Something about how you speak, I greatly appreciate! New sub here, great video! This laptop is on sale $350 off on Amazon today only. I think I’m going to get it.
The only thing wrong with this laptop is the feeling you can’t trust the reliability. It’s really hard to get a feel for if it’s genuinely less reliable than other hybrid creative/gaming laptops, but I think it’s generally accepted that they are less reliable than most other options. I have one and I do love it though. The ssd failing took the shine off it a bit, but I swapped it for a new one and that sorted it. It could have been the motherboard judging by what i read on the forums though so I consider myself lucky. The support absolutely sucks which means you need to know how to diagnose the problem, swap a drive, update the bios, install windows and update all the drivers to get back up and running. Razer support won’t help at all. At least they do host all the drivers on their site now though. If they could just up their game in that regard I’d recommend them to anyone.
Great video... Please can you share how you got the skin cover for it? I would really love to cover mine too to avoid every time cleaning. Would appreciate your response. Thanks
what are your thoughts on the razer blade with the 1660ti
Thanks 4 da review..cn u pls tell me why u didnt gt da rtx 2080 pls n whether u wld consider it in future...tenk u
What laptop would you recommend over this one, as an improvement? and why?
How is the battery life when doing non-demanding tasks like web browsing and word processing?
Thank you. But is the battery any good?
Guess it'll be another year before 4k 120hz+ panels start to be an option. (Outside of the high-end razer)
Can u please review the hp envy 15 ?
Just saw the video on LTT / Short Circuit channel
But would really want a comparison video ( against XPS 15 ) from your channel
You can totally turn the logo light off if you hate it so much.
I like coming back to this video every since it convinced me to buy the laptop :)
Awesome review mate, Can you make a review of the new Alienware gaming laptops?
I received my razer blade 15 base model with the exact same specs as the one mentioned in this video yesterday as a replacement to my 11 inch MacBook air from 2013. I have in fact watched your previous reviews and found out that you have very negative thoughts about the keyboard, as you have emphasized that in all your videos about this laptop. Many other CZcamsrs also cast criticism of the razer blade keyboard. For me though, I think that people are exaggerating the issue. I originally didn't have much expectation, but when I actually received the laptop, the keyboard is very similar to my 2013 MacBook air, a keyboard which many were a fan of. The key layout is indeed different and it will take me some time to get used to when typing and gaming. But if you are hesitating on buying this laptop solely for the keyboard, I suggest that you buy it right now because it isn't nearly as bad as people say it is.
Hey i see you skinned yours How does it feel it? why not skin the palm rest AND trackpad?
Please do a msi gs66 long term review especially about how the hinges are
Hi! what did you buy/ use for the RAM modification? Just curious. I'd like to add more RAM as well.
My razer advance track pad stopped working after a year of use. I sent it to razer and they sent it back in less than a week fully repaired at no cost to me except for shipping. I do not have any warranty. I cannot confirm that this will be the case for everybody but they got my system working like new with no hassle.
Hi, nice video, where u find this case for the razer blade 15 ?
Do you recommend the Razer Blade 15 or XPS 15 for everyday use? Excluding comparing the gaming function and price. How's the heat, fan noise etc.?
i just bought my razer blade 15 it comes on thursday i’m so excited
How has it been running the past few months?
do you have problems with yours getting fairly hot while playing wow?? What are you average temps?
I'm assuming that you got the 144 hz screen. How is it with color correction and color grading? Is it color accurate? Does it hurt your eyes? Do you recommend the 4k model instead?
Hey, how is the longevity of this machine going? Are you still using it?
Hi, I also bought the Razer Blade and exactly the same problems with the fingerprints. Which cover did you buy?
I bought this at the end of July. It was a huge chunk of money, but by god was it worth it!
Great review. I'm a mechanical engineer searching for a portable Solution for 3D Modelling. One thing I worry about is the fan noise.
How loud are the fans in office mode? And get this Laptop as hot as the smaller 13" version?
Greetings from Germany :)
Best reviews are talking about what you like and don’t like because it shows that you’re not just selling the product to us :)
Hey, where did you bought the cover from the top?
good stuff! I did a similar video but like 1 month instead. Continue the great work
WoW classic, really... It would be great to see how it performs on Shafowlands beta
bro put some more ads in between, because its the only way I can support you!!
Dude awesome video I’ve got the 2020 base model. I want to upgrade to a 2 TB hard drive plus an extra 4 TB storage drive and 64 gigs of RAM. Do you have a video showing your upgrade? What kind of ram did you use because razor says two things… 32 gigs of RAM is the max but I have read 64 works. Also what kind of hard drive did you used to upgrade and did you clone it? I’m running premiere pro CS six, I also just subscribed to the cloud for one year. Help!!!!
I always wanted regular USB ports on my tech but I looked around the house and all I have with old USB ports are old hard drives that I never use. The other ports are useful though.
If you were to choose between the dell xps 15 or the razer blade which would you choose?
I think for palm rejection issue, try setting TouchPad Sensitivity setting under Settings > Touchpad > Touchpad Sensitivity to Medium Sensitivity.
Are you going to release the video of you upgrading the razer's specs? I have the exact same laptop but I'm too afraid to upgrade it without a video to follow along with.
Best reviews are talking about what you like and don’t like because it shows that you’re not just selling the product to us :)
What's that skin? Looks amazing. Like some carbon?
Could you please do a couple games with benchmarks I’m about to buy this this weekend
You can turn off the logo in the Razer Synapse Control Center. So now you can take the computer to your "industry meetings".
So after testing Dell XPS 17, Macbook 16, HP Envy 15, MSI WS66, Schenker Key 15 and Acer ConceptD7 Ezel (which all failed hard in specific tasks) this is my last try to get a good alrounder for real time audio, photo and video editing and some gaming. If this doesn't work I really have to buy 2 separate notebooks. What a journey to get a proper working notebook.
I have been using the Advanced model with 240hz, RTX 2080 MQ and i7 9750H since March 2020 and I’m still happy with it.
I can run all games with ultra high settings and a core temperature of 80-90 degrees.
Hey how is the battery holding up? Is it bloating?
I have my Razer blade 13 for two months now and I never had so many issues in such a short time with a new laptop, so I'm sending it back today. After 10 days the display already had malfunctions, after 28 days of owning it the battery lasted only for 4 hours when it was on energy saving mode the whole time (so only 40% battery from the original 10 hours), now after two it is not charging anymore. I only used it for my school work and for InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I never played any games on it. I only took it to school in a separate protective laptop bag. Maybe it's only me and I had a bad experience with this computer and I can't recommend other people to buy this computer and tbh I'm really sad about it because I was always was a big fan of Razer. One of the only good things I can say about it is that it's is indeed super fast but I'm really disappointed about all the malfunction that it has had so far.
Just bought the 2070 version base model. Hope its good. Wss on sale, £500 off
FINALLY someone who has a base model!
Did you get the Dell XPS 9700 back? As for the Keyboard. Take a look at the characters on the Keys. Many are backward (Top / Bottom). Example look at the ?/ key. On a standard keyboard the ? is on the top and the / is on the bottom. On the Razer is reversed? At first, it might not seem like a big deal but it impacted my typing. I had to watch what character I actually wanted to type because so many of them are reversed. It took me some time to figure this out but it made a difference for me. I also found the frame around the wrist area to be too sharp and uncomfortable after a small amount of time typing. I dislike the Green Logo like you tried the Mecury version but like many laptops with white or really light key colors, it is hard to see the characters even with backlighting on.
can you tell me, where you bought the carbon cover?
Any chance you can do a video of how you upgraded it?
Webcam and mic working?? I saw a lot of problems about it. But it looks awesome (black matte) and it's still so much powerful than a Mac.
Can you try MSI Summit E16 A12UDT or other summit series? Although it's pricey, could you try? Maybe you'll like it? It's a business professional laptop with a touch screen and other such features, so you get the idea.
Gary do you use the free version of davinci resolve 16 or do you use studio?
Dude you gotta help me! My wife also hates the logo but would buy it with me if we can find a decent cover like yours. Where did you get the cover?
Niceeee, getting mine in 2 weeks, so excited!!!
My wallets thanks you bro, I love your videos
Thats awesome! I hope you enjoy it!

Hi Gary I think if you are liking windows please review the latest hp envy 15 2020
I have the same laptop. I upgraded the ram to 32gb and put 2 1tb m.2 drives. I love it.
Any issues?
Should I buy this for 1,400 over the new 2021 one, tha costs 1,700€?
Or wait for the new Lenovo Legion series?
I’m likely going to pick up the Advanced model soon. But your opinion on the base model helps greatly and is very informative.
If your base model was the Advanced model instead, how much of a difference would there be to your opinion?
I dont know that there would be all that much performance difference which is why I stuck with my base model instead of buying an advanced.
Is it worth buying for college and some side gaming?
I just got the Blade pro 17 a couple of weeks ago and have been using the MBP 16" for work for the last year. These computers seem to have two different philosophies regarding how to replace a desktop. The Mac wants to be connected to a thunderbolt dock while the Razer is more like a folding all-in-one. It works well on its own as a desktop replacement without any additional docks or peripherals.
Nice! How do you like the 17inch model? I’m always nervous that a 17inch laptop would be waaaaay to big for me.
@@TheEverydayDad I love it. The blade 17 is so fast that it is kinda crazy to have that much power in a portable computer. It is more than 2x as thick as the 16" MBP and nearly 2 pounds heavier while having less than half the battery life so the Mac is a much better laptop for travel and working on the go. After watching your videos about the XPS 17, I think the Razer is probably much larger than that computer. I do really like being able to open up the Razer and upgrade the internals. Your videos on upgrading the RAM and SSDs in your laptops really helped out there.
@@Piketom1 That's overselling the size difference :- ). Fellow Razer17 pro owner here, compared to XPS 17 it's only 150 grams heavier when XPS has RTX card (and thus vapour chamber which makes the weight increase), 2 cm wider, 1cm taller, same thickness. They're really fairly close.
It's the MBP 16 which has very svelte 16mm thickness, arguably the only "true" portable device of these three. Razer 17 with its heft and low battery is pure desktop replacement, but with big benefits. Due to higher power limits and better cooling, even older & cheaper 2070 Max-Q variant beats the 2070-Super in Blade 15 Advanced.
17 is the best performance/price deal as long as you don't need 4K, which is stupidly bundled only in highest 4200 Euro config :- (. Razer wth...
@@user-yl9vs9eh1w the size difference between the machines is shocking but the benefits are very obvious. The better cooling and power delivery of the Blade pro 17 means that the 9750H outperforms the 9880H in my MBP 16". There is almost no point comparing the graphics since the RTX 2080 in the blade is just in a different league than the 5500M in the Mac.
Can you compare this one vs the dell xps 15?
1:54 what about Thinkpads with their magnesium alloy coating?)
Love your review. I would like to see a comparison between the razer and the xps.
I think that’s what we’ll be doing Friday!
@@TheEverydayDad yayyy!
Why at all?XPS is not a gaming laptop,It has the best screen with amazing audio and that's it,nothing else
@@TheEverydayDad Where is the video?
Hey Everyday Dad. I need to get a ‘PC’ for nomadic work. Typical spreadsheet, word process and online video conferencing. Some ‘PC’ picky type software which my MBA cannot handle nicely. Also, I would need to take it with me and work out of coffee shops.
What laptop(s) would you recommend that I consider?
Checking in as a Blade 15 late 2019 owner and having switched from a desktop as well. Over a year on my late 2019 blade advanced and I had my battery swell and cause a number of issues after a power surge. Contacted Razer after the lights came back on at about 10pm their time and got very friendly and knowledgable help on their 24/7 customer support. Ultimately did not do the RMA because I need the machine and don't trust them to not supply me with a bad battery after a long turnaround but it is running fine off the AC adapter and I have a spare battery calibrated and ready for when I need to travel. Absolute workhorse of a machine despite the heat and noise it gives off and only missing the desktop for ease of use and care. I run it mostly in the home office connected to 3 external displays and VR and a whole slew of stuff. It does it all. I will say the 2020 models and their 300hz displays is just a bad call. 144hz is much more managable and the ghosting and vignetting when ran at 60hz for power savings is a lot more tolerable, not to mention the lack of g-sync support. The thing to watch out for on these is the batteries and finish, also to clean them out with compressed air about once a month to help them stay cool. I have a four year old that likes cheesy snacks and touching my Mercury white blade, for this you want the Pledge Beautify furniture wipes. I can get it off with standard clorox wipes but the Pledge adds some sort of oleophobic coating that lasts a reasonable amount of time. Glad to see you move away from Apple and their products, hope the Blade 2020 treats you well!
My degree requires light CAD. Photoshop and especially premiere pro. Would you recommend me buying this instead or the stealth? (For almost the same price) 1650ti and usb c chargjng. I was also considering zenbook duo
How has the razor laptop work after all this time ?
Another great video. Thank you.
Can you please review the HP envy 15? Extra cookie points if you can compare it the razer blade and the XPS 15
Does it still have the shut down problems ??
ANY Sany software issues so far?

Can you please share where you got your RAM from and which one exactly you got? I'm considering getting the Razor Blade 15 Advance 2021 and want to add RAM but I don't know what to get and where to get it.
Do you prefer windows or macos
