- In this video I ride 45-50km from Norwich to Wymondham discovering the history of Kett's Rebellion, starting and finishing at Mousehold Heath.
I visit notable locations, including Kett's Oak, known as the "Oak of Reformation" perported to be over 480 years old! I use my drone to capture aeriel shots of Norwich, Mousehold heath and Wymondham Abbey.
Robert Kett is an inspiration to me. I hope to share my love of Norfolk, nature and history.
Kett's Rebellion was a revolt in Norfolk, England during the reign of Edward VI, largely in response to the enclosure of land. It began at Wymondham on 8 July 1549 with a group of rebels destroying fences that had been put up by wealthy landowners...
I hope you enjoy my video - which took a lot of effort to make and edit!!!!
Thanks for watching - Jak na to + styl
I really enjoyed finding out about the history, with beautifully shot scenery and very high production value. Thanks!
Cheers Josh. Thanks very much. I really appreciate the feedback
Thanks so much for opening up a new world of adventure for us. Very relived that this one does not
require us to ride our shiny bicycles through seawater!
Cheers Ben! Yes I was abit reckless riding my Canyon mtb in the sea at Bacton! Thanks for watching
Another splendid video Andrew, some really cool shots over Wymondham Abbey! I never knew Dussindale had so much history.
Cheers Dave. Yep, most people think Dussindale is just a new housing estate! 👍🏼
Great video Andrew, very informative. It's easy to overlook the history that is all around us in the UK
Thanks Stephen for your comment. Absolutely right! 👍🏼
Kett's Rebellion came up in my research into my family tree. Thanks for the history lesson, I didn't understand what the rebellion was for originally but you explained in a way I understand. 👍
Great to hear. Thanks

I'm really enjoying your videos mix of cycling, history and Norfolk views where I used to live. I've learned more about Kett's Rebellion than I did from Wymondham High School ;)
Thanks Jim! That's great to hear. Thanks for the comment and support. More history to come soon! 👍🏼
@@divum Today I learned that Ketts Oak was used as the finish of the 100 record route from Barnet. Eileen Sheridan setting the 100 mile record video czcams.com/video/YAUHxx3EcAY/video.html

Great one Andrew,I’ve been on about Kett to my wife for ages and now I’ve got the go ahead to do a trip similar to yours next time we’re allowed into Norfolk
Wonderful! Some great old streets to explore and some lovely walks around and near Wymondham Abbey. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it and your comment. 👍🏼
Thanks Andrew. Good to see you back. Interesting and informative. Makes me think I should find out more of my area, Chelmsford, so I know what I’m riding past!
Thanks for watching and sorry its been a while to produce a video!
@@divum I’m sure others would say the same but you shouldn’t worry on how frequent your posts are. My single simple film has given me some ideas for 2021 but I’m not putting any pressure on myself to start another. Life sometimes gets in the way.
If you don’t mind me saying.... get that bag off your back and carry your kit on your bike🙂.
Take care, see you on the next one. Perce.
Cameras in the bag!
